Cheers lads for the support , I’m over the moon at the moment as you can imagine . Its like a dream come true for me as shooting is my biggest passion and all I want to do when I leave the military is shoot and get paid for it some how . Nigel Allen is such a top bloke and respected hunter and rifle reviewer, it’s a compliment to be asked to do some work for him . Don’t worry guys, no matter where this ends up for me, I wont ever forget my roots and you, my good friends in this section. Ill try to push this section even more in the public eye to make the unknown

Hi lads, I checked my PM's today on youtube and was pleased to see this this email from the one and only Nigel Allen. He has left me this very kind offer which i am going to take him up on. Im also going to ask him for a job later on after i finish in the forces. Si Hi Si I've only just come across your YT site... and confess I hadn't heard about your DVDs. Your movies are most informative and I wondered whether you might be interested in doing any writing for Airgun Shooter magazine, the new publication from Blaze Publishing which I'm editing? There would be potent

HELP needed choosing an airgun
zini replied to riku989's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi there Rik and welcome to the section buddy. From what you are describing I can have the perfect 2 choices for you mate. Choice 1 is an absolute great deal and it’s a really nice rifle for the money mate. http://www.sportsguns.co.uk/smkrifle/z19smksup22.html Choice 2 is http://www.sportsguns.co.uk/smkrifle/z20smksup22.html I hope this helps you out mate. I’m not sure if they are silencers fitted on the rifles or barrel weights mate but the rifles are quiet and wont make a lot of noise anyway if there not. Both rifles are really good hard working vermin ri -
Hi lads, Just thought that id put a quick post up to say just how good the Hawke BRC software is. Now that the weather has changed and got warmer I decided to re chrono my Pro Sport yesterday. I did a 20 shot string and then worked out a average, which was bang on 570 FPS or 173.7 MPS Rifle power is now at 11.470 this is also with some bedding in. Anyway I set up a custom profile for the rifle with the correct scope height above the centre of the bore and BC of the FX pellet and played with the mag until I got the best hold over points on my SR12 reticule. I then went

What pellet will you be using pal? Ill tell you then better mate. On a Air Arms Field at 15.985 grain if you zero at 40 yards you will stay within a 2.5cm kill zone from 10 yards to 45.5 yards on 25 FP of power. or 44 yards if your rifle is pushing out 30 FP with AA Fields again. Staying within a 2.5 cm kill zone from 11 yards to 49.5 yards.

Hi mate, I have never heard of someone fitting a GR system on a Cometa 300S. I know people that fit them in HW’s and BSA’s so there is probably someone out there that could fit one in a 300S for you mate. I used to shoot a 300 mate and the power and recoil was fine. I shot plenty with it. The only problem I found was the trigger was not the best trigger in the world. Maybe spending his money on a better trigger would be better money spent pal. Si

Good photos pal. That’s a reason why game keepers shoot them when they start and take live stock, especially young lambs like some foxes do. From the other side though the mother fox is only feeding her babies and the easiest way is to steal a chicken or a pheasant. Can’t blame her really mate as its easy food, and her litter of babies will be hungry too. I just hope that her babies wean before she catches some heavy lead in her head and leaves them to starve. Si

Point taken mate I agree pal that there is always someone about; usually antis that want to try and turn our words around to their own advantage. Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story so they say. It’s a shame when it happens, especially to a regular in this section because the lads and girl (Shannon) on here now are all responsible shooters and know their own individual capabilities, and would never intentionally wound a legal quarry species. I’ve been on the forum since 06 and in this section a little over 2 years maybe and the regulars in this section ar

Hi mate, Both scopes are a good choice, but looking at the reviews the Walther 4 - 12 x 50 IR with the mil dot reticule looks slightly better mate but abit more expensive than the other model. I have managed to find one for £78.95 which is cheaper than Uttings. Some other scopes that you may want to consider are as follows: http://www.uttings.co.uk/Product/543/103341/nikko-stirling-mountmaster-4-12x50-ao-ir-rifle-scope and http://www.uttings.co.uk/Product/543/102749/hawke-map-pro-3-9x50-ao-rifle-scope-hk3065 The second scope from Hawke is a real cracker mate and I

Hi pal, I have a Pro Sport pal and would never think of putting a pod on her mate As Festa has said you are totally wasting your time mate unless you are solely going to use the rifle for static hunting where you are shooting off the pod all the time either from a bench or from the prone position. You will find that the recoil goes down the pod causing it to jump. When you zero the scope you compensate for the jump giving you a fine zero. If you then use the rifle and shoot in normally where the recoil goes through the rifle and into your shoulder you will find that the P

Hey Scarecrow, There is no need to lecture Archie like that in the open forum buddy is there? If you look at picture 2 you will see that the pellet went in the eye of the bunny and out the top of its head between the 2 ears causing a perfect brain shot. It’s obvious to me that the shot was taken at a 45 angle to the way the bunny was facing, and was also probably taken with the bunny on an incline to where Archie was, hence the exit wound. You can’t always shoot a rabbit side ways on; sometimes you need to shoot them in the back of the head or the front of their fore head t

pellets for long range shooting
zini replied to farmerkev09's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Kev let me know how you get on with the profile mate. I just guessed the power of your rifle with the heavier magnums. Hopefully the profile is somewhere near your actual holdover points. I could give you a more accurate profile if i new your exact muzzle velocity with the pellets or your power in FP's. Si -
