again its a balance, its a pure saluki , too many expect to get one and it to be a saluki lurcher, you enjoy em more if you accept them for what they are, whippets far from perfect however they do a job and are enjoyed saluki the same, some make great lampers, some are mint on bolted rabbits, some good on bambi Charlie etc , most however are just everyday average jack of all trades types if allowed to be, better than being average or poor at one thing maybe, more hunting you do with them the happier they are, sure they feck up and frustrate all types do that though, Ive no doubt any decent

Bird, once dog matured and bond established you can physicaly chastise them , mine will return knowing he get a dig, sulks a little, trick is not too over use it, words or simply ignore far worse too dog if bond strong enough.frustrating too owner when pupnyoung and in daft stage, but in long run pays off does hands off approach, well it has for me anyhow

That's bad, to do that to dogs that have run their heart out for them making money, then throwing them out like rubbish, sickning!! The recall issue is one I see raised regular when it comes to saluki threads, in three years of running in the saluki cup and club days ive yet too see a dog fail to return too its owner or slipper on field and thatsbtruth, fair does all the owners are partial to these types and work hard with em, plenty different lines in club as well dont get me wrong most of us had recall problems in luppy days and whilst they mature, but all breeds suffer that, and most of js aint the worlds best trainers either, sometkmes people shout em back and dog dont come so dog is thick ignorant etc, well mayb

Am starting too see this saluki racing buisness becming massive , you think it will come to uk eventually rio? At least its something the dogs can do legally , suppose in long run it will improve and damage the breed equally, depending on the individuals involved, be interesting too see what comes of it lol

just shows what can come from properly thought out breeding mate, class litter that un for sure, if the arabs ever come to uk to buy a pure then we know we heading in right direction with em for sure, 6 I reckon Brookie gave me good solid foundation in Nero, same when Marcus took Mars bitch from um and raised the bar expectation wise, it shows the lines still got summat to give and at end of day its not always about what they can do for improving lurchers, gaing consistency performance and temperment wise within the breed itself far more important in long run

in a nutshell no one in uk can sell you a saluki that will kill 3/3 and match saluki lurchers imho ,(to be fair though a lot of lurcher litters cannot guarantee it either) however you may be able to buy a dog that's got the potential to be a good honest sporting dog with the physical attributes to become a consistent hare killer , the rest down to man behind dog and the dog itself, if ya don't try ya never get I reckon, not forgetting you can also mooch with em, lamp em, what ever ya want, better than ending up a show dog or piggy bank for some doley
