Definitely agree. A broadwing soaring above and your dog working below it, takes some beating.

Definitely the best way to fly a broadwing over a dog!

Brilliant stuff. He looks a cracking hawk to fly.

Have you ever flown him from the soar?

Many years ago, I had some cracking fun with a redtail that would soar. Amazing teardrop stoops at times. And if she lost a squirrel in a treenopy, she would soar above as I whacked every tree around us trying to get it moving again.

    Hi David, thanks!

Yes I do often fly him from the soar it is my favourite way to fly. Some spectacular flights when everything comes together.

For some reason I’m finding them on much higher ground this season. Maybe all the rain.

Yes that could be right although there just aren't any around locally to me. I have some half decent ground but have to travel, and even the numbers there aren't what they used to be!

    Hammering the squirrels this season!

Yes, to be honest there aren't many rabbits about locally without travelling. There's lots of squirrels about so that's the easiest option at the minute.

Doing well on the rabbits this season, does it fill the freezer much? Or do you break even after you’ve kept them fed all year?

If you have ground with plenty of rabbits you will fill the freezer enough to keep bird and ferrets fed in the off season.

  7. Had to go back today as tag had become detached from hawk somehow. Lost daylight and battery in reciever low.do 45 minute drive back today. After searching the wife went into squirrel mode and eventually found it high in canopy, lol
