  1. Fair play to her ,expect she paid good money to import her.

it wasn't cheep and to honest I had a few sleepless nights organising things but crystal said that she had never came across anything bred that way in the states. If there is one ounce of tallent in the bitch she will coaxe it out.

  2. What's the one in Florida going to be doing GVC nice variety to hunt there.

It's not a hunting home unfortunately but it is a competition home with a very accomplished lady that trains malnois. She's gone off to be a dock diving dog. The lady she's gone to is a world champion and world record holder. She can't praise her enough for brains and willingness to please .

  3. Looking well both of them. The bitch that went to Florida is coming on really nice too. I'm really pleased with all of the comments I've had back it's been well worth it so far. The blue dog is coming on nicely but he's such a lump I'm being very careful with him. He moves and thinks like a big collie but he's still that long in the body he looks like a sausage dog. I'll try and get some pictures up. The Wheaton litter are coming on nicely had a weekend with one of the dog pups out the litter and he didn't disappoint at all. Now if only this cattle dog bitch would break down I could have a few years with no pups and lots of work.

  4. If they have fire and speed pop a bigger, coursy'er dog over (or under). Pups would hold theirs I'm betting ;)

that's the plan I'll be using the same line of coursing dog next lining then back to the Wheaton line. The pups from this litter are really game and racey but I'd like to see them a touch bigger in hieght.

  5. In the first pic he's a bout 5-6 years old. He's stands around the 24 mark. But getting him to stand still is like nailing blomonge to the ceiling. No there's no hikling blood in there. The one he's with the bitch on is over a year old now so he's 11 in that one. The bitch is out of his litter mate. This is herpost-23657-0-19586600-1477988928_thumb.png

Put to a saluki greyhound. This is herpost-23657-0-22942800-1477989028_thumb.png

Call me what you want to mate but they are not good dogs, if you want a dog that's gunna take well to rabbits on the lamp and the odd fare enough get a collie cross but expect it to be knocked up for most of the winter months, do not have high hopes of it taking anything that bites back, if that's the kind of dog you think would suit your needs then by all mean give David a ring I'm sure he has pups available 24 hours of the day every day of the year haha

I can only speak as I find ,max is seven and still takes everything and anything and has been worked hard. No picking runs no putting the breaks on and I would still give anything to have him at 18 month old again. My Wheaton is harder but would never be able to hunt and catch anything near to the amount of stuff Max has. Granted not all collie crosses are the same but no two dogs are the same either. It's horses for coarses. I'd be looking for a dog that suits the owners temperament and needs.
Just wondering I've never heard of a wheaton grey x collie grey but I suppose it's been done?
This is a first cross to first cross collie greyhound/Wheaton greyhound. She was a really good allrounder lost through injury whilst working.

You have a collie cross that's single handed on everything and anything, sorry I'm not buying it, not calling you a liar just don't believe it has been truly tested...

That's exactly what your calling me. And I'm not selling it. This dog has been tried and tested For 5 years and never ever come up wanting. It's a bit of an insult to imply Ive done my dog up to something he's not. Drop me a line your more than welcome to see for your self.

Thank f**k people have crawled out the wood work from genuine experience.

Said it time n time again on here, iv seen a pure whippet stalk, and their like one of the keenest dogs u can get on a slip for rabbiting.

Was another guy on here with a whippet grey saluki grey lurcher, he said his quit on rabbits at 3.

There's big massive bull xs capable of killing horses that iv seen spew a fox...lol funny old site but not as funny as these experts.

Good luck Richie. If it fails, let me know I know a few collie x men that hunt fox regular if that's your thing. Atb

I will keep up dates if all goes to plan pal and cheers am going to see if I can get a pic of the sire iam wanting to use he is a fine looking animal atb
Here he is max. Farther to totes pup

  10. Just a thought gvc would it not be better to get where you want to be with the malinois cross, maybe line/inbreeding, before adding new blood? In no way a criticism just thinking that they maybe be a bit unpredictable on what you are getting and a few generations of the breeding may tell you more about what you have/want?

Yes I agree with you and your point is a valid one. I wouldn't rule that out in the future. But the reason we started on this venture with this cross was to out cross her with our collie cross dog. We hoped she would help with coat, size, length and gameness but essentially staying with the herding blood. All of these things are present in the bitch and after working her we are very pleased with her so far. We hope these good points will Pass on to the pups. But all this said until the pups have proven them selves and we are able to assess there work ethic and natures the next step is un known.
