  1. yeah, thats what i thought you should always start with a springer as not only are they cheaper, they discepline the shooter. so i would go for the lightning xl. the gun in the pic to the left is a xl in beech stock. and as you can see it can easily take rabbits if youre shooter has enough experience on targets.
  2. apart from the lightning xl, you could get a orgininal lightning below your price range, the orginal is the same except shorter silencer and the stock is less balanced. you could get a 2nd hand AA s200 as well for your price range, wich are light and easy to use guns. although in my opinion (as it is the only gun i've got) i would stick with the lightning xl as it is a good gun.
  3. they are very good guns, nice to handle, light so is good for young hunters. only one thing, the recoil is a little twangy.
  4. right, my new mission is to go walk up there evey day after school with the camera and try ang get the shot again. it probably won't happen for again, but at least i'm garunteed to get some good pics of rabbits.
  5. he sent me 10 snares aw well mate! thank you to old trap collector! woodga does a very good dvd pn rabbit sanring and i would highly recommend it. pm him to buy one.
  6. i completely agree that if you want to control large numbers of rabbits then shoot them in most effiecent way possible and the wya wich will get big bags. but if you wan to have the thrill of stalking then try get as close as possible. it may not be the most effective way of getting big bags of rabbits, but it certinaly IMO is the most enjoyable.
  7. i know a place in the emmerald isle where they catch them nearly as commonly as ballan wrasse. buetiful fish
  8. sneak over there when she aint looking thats what i did when a woody pigeon landed in my neighbours garden. but on the other hand, i supply my neighbour with rabbit carcasses once and a while.

  10. stalking rabbits up to 20 yards with an airgun is a lot more skillfull and more enjoyable than nocking them over at 200 yards with something wich could easily kill a deer let alone a rabbit well thats my opinion anyway.
  11. no she couldent. say you shoot a rabbit and it hops up into the air and lands on someone elses land then its completel legal to go get it but you have to ask permission of the landowner to go onto there land and retireve it.
  12. i was just out walking on a very good piece of land wich i dont have permission to shoot on but enjoy stalking animals for fun on (it's kind of like a place where i practise stalking rabbits and woodpigeons on....except without a gun). well i went down with the trusty binocs and realtree suit and spotted a group of 8 rabbits feeding at the other end on the field. so sticking close to cover and not making much sound i slowly stalked up to the rabbits until i was a mere 15 yards away with know heads popping up to look around and none of them bolting (i never usually get this close) i realised th
  13. you could make a engraved ferret box as taz said. perhaps a wooden statue of a fox/roedeer/whippet/pheasent/spaniel/lab. something like that. a hold all to fit in the boot of your car to carry all your shooting/ferreting/fishing needs. like draws in it to hold stuff and a large lockable draws to fit in your valuble stuff like guns/rods.
  14. i am thinking of buying a laser sight for rat barn work and close range rabbit work (20 yards). anyone got anyseuggestions on what i should get? thanks Aaron

  17. we are al saing it so cute (which it is) but the reality is that many of us do a lot of deer stalking on adult bucks, anyway good on ya fom rescueing so it can be brought up and released into the wild to be shot

  20. there is actualy a new type of record you can get now. we have shore and boat records but there is now a kayak record as well i think. can imagine trying to break the conger record in a kayak or blue shark record. being towed all over the place.
  21. yeah i know, because there are a lot of yobs in my area who just mess about with airguns and don't do the job properly and wound more than they kill its hard to get the farmers to trust you. but greatwhitehunter has offered to take me out for a day on his 500 acre perission and i'm looking forward to that.
  22. they are very common in my area an i have trapped them in a very unusual way. i noticed that i was always finding the eggs in my duck house cracked open and sucked dry. after staying out there i found out that a pair of jays where the thieves so i started closing the door on my duck house each morning. but then i found that the ducks where laying outside because they couldent get in there duck house . so i tied some fising line to the door of my duck house. put an egg inside it. and waited. sure enough the jays landed on top of the house and flew down into it as they where feeding on theegg i
