  1. Hi there everyone, Don't know if you saw my older post about trying to source some rabbit meat but this is just to say a massive thank you to mhopton who provided me with a whole load of big fresh rabbits for nothing. Really impressive set up with some lovely dogs and ferrets and a fella who really knows his stuff about fieldsports. Thanks again and all the best to all of you
  2. Thanks a lot everyone. Will let you know how it all works out
  3. That may well be true. Just easy source of protein. Any help ?
  4. Hi there everyone; I have moved up to Newcastle University in order to study agriculture and am struggling to afford decent quality meat. I play a lot of sport and need some good food so I was hoping I could buy some rabbits off a shooter, dog man or ferreter etc every week. They don't need to be skinned or gutted but it would probably be good if they were gutted. I'm bang in the centre of newcastle but could get a train out if need be. Any help much appreciated ATB
  5. Sounds good, afraid to say don't have a car but I can get one of my mates to drive me to Bromley or something.

  7. Hiya everyone, haven't been on here for a while as I have been incredibly busy. Still managed to fit in a fair bit of hunting though. Anyhow I'm going travelling for a year in Nov and as I will be unable to use the rifle, need money and am planning on getting an FAC when I return I have decided to sell my air rifle. It's a Weihrauch 95K with a one piece sportsmatch mount, a BSA Essencial 3-9 X 45 scope, standard issue silencer, knockdown target and a wool lined gun slip. All you need is pellets ! Shoots true and straight, nice and powerful. Really good hunting rifle. Only issue is a

  9. I'm not sure a picture would help as it is not swollen in fact it appears to be normal.
  10. Hello all. I have been shooting air rifles for about 5 years now; I have owned 2 (BSA Comet and Weihrauch 95K). I have shot many rabbits, pigeons, crows etc with it but recently have been looking at upgrading my principle firearm to something a bit "beefier". A few weeks ago I went to a shooting ground and had 50 clays given to me via a voucher for a previous birthday, I loved shooting the shotguns and found I was a fairly good/alright shot. I hope i get another 50 clays for christmas and after this I am going to start saving for a shotgun. My question is what shotgun should I get: -I want
  11. Hi everyone. Last Friday my dog was running along a track and appeared to be running fine. When I got back to the house he lay in front of the fire as normal, however when I got up to feed him he limped and wouldn't put any weight on his front right paw. I gave him a day of rest but it didn't seem to be any better so took him to the vet on Saturday evening - they said that if it wasn't significantly better by Monday then I should take him in for an x-ray. However it has healed up well I think,he longer limps and seems to run okay but occasionally hops a bit. If I apply moderate pressure to th

  13. Here is the video which explains all (sorry about the queer music it wouldn't let me put up some good stuff) : Hi all, Don't know if any of you knew him personally or had heard of him but on the 9th May 2009 Lieutenant Evison was shot in the shoulder during an ambush on patrol. Here is an article about him : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8050750.stm A few months after his death the Mark Evison Foundation was set up which basically has an award scheme whereby it provides money and funding for people to go forth and do challenges in memory of him. In my school me and my mate won th

  15. proper nice, whats he like on game ?
  16. deerhound hunter - that rough coated dog at the top looks like a serious animal, how many inches is he ?
  17. I'be got an male GSP, he is a very good dog. He has retrieved deer, foxes and rabbits. Only problem is that due to his pointing genes he can 'over stalk' and they use there nose too much when they hunt; however if you crossed them with a grey you would get some sighthound blood which would sort that out. Would be intresting.
  18. Hi basically this is just for a bit of learning. Know my way more or less ! around shooting, dogs (except terriers), air rifles, fishing, etc but literally have no clue about earthdogs or digging for foxes. I kinda get the idea of ratting but would like someone to explain what earhtdogs are used for both now and before stupid laws. thanks
