I wouldn't drain it if your not a 100% sure what it is. You can make matter's worse. I knew there was a pimple like matter there and knew it felt like adema, why because i seen this quiet a few times over the year's. The pimple bump was a bite and not from your dog's. Tic or insect. And i also told you it would probably go away on its own but to play it safe to give a broad spectrum anti. I was right on what i asked and i was obviously right about it going away on it's own. You never poke or cut into something you are not 100% sure of unlees you wanna take a chance of making it worse. Can't believe neil your a older dog man and told him to drain it not knowing forsure what happened. Sorry but bad advice coming from a so called veteran in dog's. Maybe your getting to old and should stay on the porch! That's were the old dog's like to hang out. Hahaha
Thanks for the advice, I'll take it on board and forget about what I;ve always done.

Common in terriers. Drain it and give them the free run of the house. Work very well if your not getting on very well with her in doors.
A few pricks from a needle to help drain it and some anti-biotic applied will cure most swollen ears caused by a playful bite or a thorn.
When I was a pup my father gave me many's a swollen ear.

I've seen it. The Irish RM was also another great series that showed plenty of Poteen making. Especially the one where the local Magistrate seen a man ( Neil Tobin) coming out of a field in the rain and asked what he was doing ? The man said he was burning sticks, hence the smoke. The magistrate gave him a lift into the court house. In court, the magistrate asked the arresting officer how did he catch the man making potteen ? The constable said that he seen the smoke from the still on a rainy day when most lads make it to keep the smoke down.
Still a trick used today.

popcorn sutton. he was caught again making moonshine and expecting another prison sentence and took his own life. old man should have being left alone. he was a legend in the moonshine business.
I think they couldn't catch him for moonshining but he was charged with illegal firearms possession and he was only getting two months but because he had cancer he ended it all.

There was an old farmer here in Ireland who was making Poteen and the new sergeant raided his yard and found his still, which was empty at the time.
The farmer ended up before the magistrate and the sergeant said they found a still so he must be making poteen. The farmer stood up and told the judge that he might as well prosecute him for rape too.
When the judge asked "why" the farmer replied "sure haven't I the equipment for that too, but it doesn't mean I done it."
He was acquitted and believe it or not, that's a true story.

I stole it. Don’t want people to give me credit for something I didn’t think of. Can’t remember where or when I saw it however
I know you stole it, but you used it at just the right time, LOL.

Is "Big Rabbits" still special secret code for hares, no-one will ever work that 1 out...
No, teeth means rabbits, the secret code word for hares is Billy. Foxes are venison and venison means charlie, charlie being rats.

Yep, beef is best of the lot. Used to be with a 3 day a week pack. When the "mad cow disease" scare came in the ministry vet watched over them making sure only hind quarters were fed. Hounds fell apart. It was only when the vet f****d off they went back to fore quarters and hounds got their backs back.

Yep, Woodpigeon is up there with Woodcock and Partridge and yet you here of assholes dumping them. A few times I've had their breasts on the pan a half hour after shooting it and it can be like beef, that's why I like the sound of your other recipe.

I've fed almost exclusively on chicken with no issues and I gave plenty of pork to, again with no issues. The only issues I had from pork was they struggled to pass the bone, I had to take one to the vet for a quick "finger blasting" !! My mate had the same problem with his terrier, he phoned me while he was on the way to the same vet and I told him what he did for my dog. This boy wasn't frightened of "having a go himself", he phoned me back after a few minutes laughing his bollocks off, he was cover in shit, all up his chest lol
When you say finger blasting are you talking about using your finger to irritate the bowel and make the dog shit ?????
I've used a piece of straw and a biro on dogs in the past and walked them with it in them to make them shit. Both times it was to get the last few ounces off the dog.

Always a nuisance.

Thanks for that Stormer. I just googled it and it appears that commercial pork is safe to feed to dogs but not wild boar or feral pigs etc. but most of that research is American and I think where I read about it was in an English hunting magazine from a few years ago.
I'll take a chance and go back to feeding it the odd time I get it.
Shane, chickens great, bones an all, but after a few days I like them back on the beef for that bit of fat.

We don't have the red claws over here. The natives are fairly plentiful. Drag in a lot whilst fishing. Heard recently that this plague has hit one major river system which has wiped everything out. If it hits the Shannon, then that could be the end for the creyfish
Eddie I was talking to a lad a couple of weeks ago regarding the Zebra Mussel and a few other things. I mentioned that I sometimes envy the Brits being able to catch so many Signal Crayfish so easily but it's probably a good thing they're not in Ireland. He reckons they're already here in a few rivers.
