Hello All My Patterdale bitch has just given birth to 6 cracking pups. Trouble is she won`t let me go anywhere near them. I was going to take them to get their tails docked tomorrow. I`am a bit concerned about how she will react when i take them off her, the vets is a good 45 minute drive there and back. Have breed pups before and never come across a bitch like this. She won`t even leave the whelping box. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I`ll get some picks of the pups posted shortly. After reading all these comments it has convinced me to get my litter Patterdales docked when they are born. They are due on the 30th of this month. I have had a job finding a vet that will dock them as i want it done properly but finally found one that will do it. Mind you i need a doctor to put both eyes back in. I need it doing properly as i`am a Kennel club accredited breeder for other dogs i own and breed. I will attending a lurcher and terrier show at Stanley this weekend and was concerned when the advert says that puppies with docked tales wouldn`t be allowed to show.

hello mate got a litter due back end of August, bitch has only worked to rat and has an excellent nose ( Rough Coated Patterdale ) Sire is also a worker above and below. Will get some photos posted shortly

Hello All Just joined forum after using it for quite a while into shotguns and firearms, member of a syndicate.. Have a Patterdale Terrier who hates rats with a vengance. Brian
