  1. take a look at www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/ its a fast track small claims court run by the government £30 to start the ball rolling . but i agree with the have the grand then take to court for the whole amount denying any payment of the g. more than one way to skin a cat

  2. thanks shell i aint had no problem with blocking just not had loads bolting was wondering if they aint much good or locations have been rubbish

we have had problems with the rat attack , seems like it will work but when we were trying it in deep established warrens we were struggling to get a bolt . i think what happens is the smoke that comes immediatly from the tip is hot and looks good but as it cools on entry it just condenses to the surfaces of the runs. we had the farmer watch us with our new fantastic bit of kit only for us to smoke a place under a concrete floor of a grain store that we new held big numbers, for over 30mins with no rats . then the end ignited which sparked up all the vapour in the rat holes with a massive bang and the floor lifted. the farmer wasnt impressed and neither were we . its proper use is as an insect repeller so just not built for the job. thermal fogger is the correct term , if you google this you will find the exact model from the us at much cheaper than the uk, thank god i didnt pay uk for it as ive thrown it!!

  3. Aye mate I was fishing the other day when i spotted a deep rabbit scraping, i could just make out something grey at the entrance and thought it was a bunnies head!!

When i took a closer look it was a wasp nest that was hanging from the roof of the scraping, I'm not too keen on the stripey little sods so left them well alone!!

I suppose burrows are nice and sheltered for them!

if we find them we use ant powder at the hole after dark , give them 12 hrs then go back and dig em . fantastic fishing bait!!!

this is one from the river teme , caught on a single wasp grub whilst trotting for chub

  4. out for a shine last night on a place thats usually reliable , along a railway line next to cattle pasture . my young dog had the only rabbit we saw all night and its head was covered is blister like sores . they were of varying size and were void of fur but without the usual swollen eyes of the myx , the rabbit seemed to run well and new where he wanted to go , so looked fit until a close up revealed the mess it was in. sorry no pics but wondered if any one had seen anything similar as it dosent fit any symptoms of vhrd or myx.?

  5. Im soon going to purchase a theoben rapid s type and need some advice on what would be best cal for sub 12ftlbs i have a .22 hw77k but have been getting told to get 177 for more range any advice anyone oh ye its for hunting rabbits and pigeons

177 everytime , more range , cheaper ammo , flatter tradjectory , better penetration and most important greater accuracy. ive a aa s410 in .177 and using accupel its hard to beat , ive tried most current rifles as a mate is a field trial super hero who gets a few to try out and ones he has won in comp and this was the most reliable accurate set up for us.

  6. it does have a wright thats correct but when she is older and at a working age how will i gat a rabbit of her if she trys to take my hand of every time. it need rules and cotrol ...my family had a dog for years and we all new dont go near her when she has a bone. it should not be like that

well said , a dog should always be subordinate to all humans in its pack . if in a pack situation the dog would have to wait until the alpha lets it feed , if your dog is guarding food from you it obviously sees you as lower in the rank or is trying to better its status by pushing you to see how easy you are . if you dont nip this in the bud it will cost the dog its life when you have to put it to sleep for biting or worse. scruff and a scolding while you still have control, as an adult bullx is a daunting animal to have a battle of wills with. sod the bond if the dog has no respect for you there is no bond!!

  7. any advice please, pup keeps going to toilet in her crate, even when she,s loose il find shes gone back into her crate to go to toilet im sure her breeder used to put a towel down for the litter, as he kept them in the house, i do this also but she just seems to think she has to go somewhere soft, has any body got any ideas, jamie

try closing the crate , or removing it (best to do just after feed when tummy full , pressure should push any accumulated out)and when the pup looks like its ready to go take it outside (shut the door behind you) and praise when the job is done. atb

  8. i had a similar problem with traffic and found that just repeating the lesson without reaction from myself solved the problem , usually any contact or conformation from owner when the dog behaves in an undesirable manor will result in promotion of the behaviour. so by just walking by the problem and carring on regardless of the dogs reaction will show the dog that there is nothing to be afraid of. in a pack situation when none of the other dogs react , the sapling should realise this is no threat and carry on without fear. hope this helps atb

  9. i go to this place 3 times a year and every time we get way into double figures. i converted and old chainsaw they fly out eveywhere

where are you ? we run a small pack in worc and you would be welcome to tag along or will have pup for a while to bring on if all else fails.

  10. i have 3 of this cross and find them to be very agreeable , they have never fought among themselves and are very good with other dogs , i find them to be alot more sensible(but will turn on when needed) than the pure patts i have.

but £250 is a rip unless the breeding is top class, closer to £100 is more realistic .

  11. irish setter elk trackers :clapper:

couldnt agree more , had 2 pairs and realy give them some hammer . they are comfy, warm , hard wearing , waterproof and much cheaper than any other boot in this class , ran a pair of these alongside a pair of le chameaus mouflons that my hunting partner bought at the same time and the chams are cold and leaking half way through the season , my elks are still going strong two seasons in and i havnt touched the new pair i bought in to replace these yet !! highly reccommended.

bought from america via ebay for around £120 , be aware that there are fakes out there if they are any cheaper than a ton be wary.

  12. we find that a constant food source like a grain store to be the best or around any penned livestock , bails are good post-20134-1247260352_thumb.jpg these were from a yard where grain was open and opposite the bail store , you can clearly spot the holes and greasy runs when there are a few about. another good method we use is to lamp these barns at night with the terriers on slip leads , it seems to work best if you put a few boards against wall for them to run to when the lights are turned on and then you can pick them off one by one.

  13. i have a patterdale at 1 year

who is not good with other dogs but my own :boxing:

it was after a bad experince with a out of control collie that attacked him when he was a pup

thanks to a irisponsible owner :wallbash::thumbdown:

its sutch a shame as i cant take him out with my mates other dogs as hes a cracking little worker

iv tryed with him again and again but nothings working

    any ideas?

    Thanks##

i have the same problem , a 4 year old dog i have was at a summer show as a 9 month pup when he was gripped by the back leg by a westie , ever since he never gave any other dog or bitch the chance to get him he always struck first and no amount of retraining will solve this problem , he is a strong nuttal(buster) gould animal and takes some getting off even though i have now become adept at this . i have three others and they are fine and work well alongside any others , but this dog just goes into a trance like state and will not give any quarter , he just wants to kill whatever he has set his sights on. its a crying shame as hes a great working dog solo , i have no probs with him on his own or with dogs he knows well , but theres always that moment when a rambler or lost dog appears from nowhere and i know whats going to happen next. its mad really as my 5 year old daughter can drag him round by his ear and all he does is cry yet hes rabid with other k9s

theres an issue over what the vaccinations cover , depending on what your vet uses (several different manufacturers of the vaccines market individual doses and different combinations of the jabs) will reflect in what work your dog does, as some dont cover all of the five or so variations of the lepto, and i suspect that most nonrural vets only use a vaccination to cover the most prevelant issues in their local area inc the usual parvo etc. its worth asking the name of the drugs and doing a little research even just for peace of mind. most of them are available from the us without to much trouble.
