Another good night , dogs had to work hard on some of the rabbits, long slips and some of the ground was heavy going.Doga's young bitch caught well towards the end of the night.She should make a [good]lamping dog next season. No disrespect to the guy or his dog, but i just find it hard to beleave the reverse cross come to terms with proper winter hares, even half crosses (collie/grey etc) will be hard pushed to do so but will still catch the odd hare that makes a silly mistake or is a nieve young un, lamping them increases the odds as there far easier in general to catch on the lamp but once theyve been ran a few times on the lamp hares zoom just like in the day even more so in some cases.   9. Hi Dan, yes they are [munt-jac] small deer, good eating and good to pre ban start a young dog on.? With Bryn size as well 24 1/2 in 60 lb he is big enough to handle twice as big as that size no prob.

  11. Yes mate. Rich rabbier Snipe had [40] , not my dog,but even at 9years old [34] no prob, so in his day [40-50] easy. Bryn is good for 1x colliexgrey with good speed for this x , and great agilty good wind and good feet+coat, and for a 2year old dog.I think he is a good type of this x Ray

  13. A 1X will prob a harder type dog, more wind,better feet+coat. But even for foxes [pre ban] you still need alot of pace, foxes [are ] not slow. They are very agile+fast. I think a 1/4 malx3/4 grey, would be spot on for all quary.??

  15. i could be wrong, but the way ive read it [s/deerhounds] were bred to track+find wounded deer .Hold them at bay and wait for hunter to despatch it with spear or gun . And with the use of the [gun] thats when the use of s/deerhounds [declined]. Regards tackle+catching big deer [reds..........] prob 1-2 s/deerhound could catch+kill any [type] of deer,being a strong,agile,fast dog. with the size [height+weight] to do the job.?

  17. i would go for a dog about[24-26in and 60-70lb] should be strong+agile,and speed quite alot of sight hound in it. maybe [colliexgreyxsalukixgrey]with a bit of bull in there.the main thing go for a dog, that comes from dogs that do that job.?? Aleast you in with a chance then.?
  18. spot on , i always give warm [chicken or beef stock =gravy]+food in winter, thats nice and warm in the belly.And the dog i keep 1x colliexgrey,as a great coat on him, and he dont mind cold weather.

  21. as a breed they can be sharp [dogs+people] ,of all the gundog breeds. If i was going for a gundog x ,i would use a proper working lab, not show stuff.??

  23. the[ striker ]with lithuim battery is great really picks stuff out, and used it for about [5] hours
