well done nottingham
1 in 6 people think st george's flag is racist....................what does that say for our society...there is sooner or later going to be a big upset inthis country
the sooner the better , we need not just right wing people , but most people across the board . where as the police cant control all the attacks , the army brought in etc. the once government relishes , the country had enough , and dont want the political correct bullshit , we might with ton of luck see some big changes in this UK.

Years ago they were practically thought of as wolves in sheep country here. Loose or feral sheep dogs probably kill more sheep than all other breeds put together do. I think Shepherds were just scapegoats in reality.
over the 35 years ive had lurchers , ive been out with few lads , who said there dogs ok with sheep, they aint been , had to keep the there twats on a lead. i only ever had one prob with Buck and them woolly feckers, it was was when just started getting few deer, this is the big prob for most people , it the switch from rabbits hares, then to run total different quarry , with foxes no prob, i think he thought they just the same like with feral cats he killed few them . Know was out and after big stuff, had couple runs they got away, coming was sheep by hedge that i didnt see, well he seen it, pulled it down didnt kill it, just held it down till i got to him. well iknew what i was going to do. he i give the fooker his biggest good hiding he ever had , he cried out , and cowered on the floor. well that lesson went home, he never touched another sheep again . same as when i had keplie x collie x grey bitch , had couple munjack thats all , never really any other deer , but she grabbed one one morning back of a hedge , give her good hiding , and she never done it again. you got to be cruel to be kind, because if you dont , you get the dog shot be , a farmer, so one good hiding , could save its life long term.

I know when we talked years ago, that you always perferd, the 1x gsd x grey, to the 1/4 gsd x 3/4 grey. As the 1x alot tougher. Takes the bang/bumps far better, and as you said the 1x not that much slower. My self now a old man 71. 72 in August, my lamping days are gone but still take old Buck my 1 x gsd xgrey out for 1-2 hours mooching every day. He be my last working lurcher. I was thinking that I wrap up when he gone say poss 18 months time if I am lucky, that I not get another dog. Well I suppose I be lost with out one around me had them 35 years now, and more so since my wife died in February, a dog deff are bit of company. If did get another, I prob get say collie greyx beddy whippet x grey type about 34 in 50lb male good coat, as it live outside. But the old dog OK been out this morning with him and little woody for a hour nice walk. If you want to pm me you can. Ray.

I've found my last post as Germhound, I never produced the reverse 3/4 cross I was thinking of doing . My plans changed for sure .
I have/had team of white shepherds, 2 of the working team of 4 are still with me , imported a bitch from Italy last year that dog sure can hunt. A light framed dog compared to my NZ lines . She has produced a litter and 2 bitches I kept are showing they like hunting .
As for the gsd X I have Zappa's semen on ice , I was going to put it to a very small grew I had here ( she was the grew that never grew ) but she passed a few weeks back after a day's work. Not sure what to do now. Maybe back to the reverse 3/4 idea. If I could go back I would of tried to bring the size down a bit , to suit the work I've been doing here. Lots of small gardens from 1/4 acre up. Lots of tight areas that test a dog.
See what retirement brings .

Nice to hear from you again sb
@Aussie Whip I remember reading an nz pig hunting book and they deemed the breed as a bit of sheep muncher ?
shame really as they can be switched on loyal dogs .
I think that can apply to any tye dog, if you don't get, get a good hard training in it's head.

no one is daft enough to bet usyk beats fury lol
Answer this with all honesty , Usyk will win I know that. But if fury looses, what excuses w ill you come up with.. I think likes of fury, wilder Aj Usyk will all retire in 2 years. And let's hope the next heavyweight division are better than this bunch now.

With a strong referee who wouldnt tolerate Fury's mauling and leaning David Haye for the first 4 rounds would have been an absolute nightmare for Fury .....pinpoint accuracy, decent power,explosive.....on a purely boxer versus puncher match up id have fancied Haye there.
Different type of fighter completely but similar to Usyk/Fury the outcome could depend on the referee....Usyk is a far superior fighter so if Fury's not allowed to use his size advantage because of a strong ref who wont tolerate his antics theres a good chance Fury ends up getting disqualified.

i believe a kangal has the hardest bite foorce of a dog but a cane corso is up there
yeh ive red that mate as well , i think as guard / protection type dog , the cane corso but be a better dog than a kangal. my mate been over to turkey few times, his wife from there, and he told me up in the mountains where he seen the kangals loose there by the goats/ sheep , if you got out your car by the sheep they run at you ( 3) of them , he said he shit him self he soon jumped back in his car lol, he said there tall fit looking, can move quick as well. But there really flock guard type dog .The cane corso , make better guard/pp dog , mind you well bred gsd or bel mal do as good, if they came after you.

Cane corsos are the most docile lumps you'll find yet they have jaw power stronger than a lion on psi
thought that was a kangal = 700lb psi , but any dog when fired up can really bite that bit harder, old Buck my 1x gsd x grey , got hell of a bite on him , god knows what his psi be, but bust s fox couple bites in the ribs , very strong bite, all gsd as good bites , . i knew a x RAF bloke that worked gsd and mals in the RAF , and he told me even a 70lb bel mal on a sleeve , would stop joe public in street , get bite of a farm collie you think twice getting out your car with 3 prats loose lol

Is it just me, or is anyone else the same? Really lost interest in heavyweight boxing because of tyson fury f***ing it all up for the last 5/6 years?
Yep, I really hope this fight takes place next month may 18th with usyk, he be exposed for what he really his, big fat bloke who carnt really he not really been tested as yet, but next month he really will. He need all his 6ft 9in, 18st to beat usyk. He beat him, only by mauling him with weight to sap usyk. But usyk very fit bloke and at 6ft 3in 15st 10lb, same size as Ali, Fury really have hard fight on his hands, he do it just about unless usyk can knock him out, and he deff could.

thankyou they are similar in character this was the first mating we plan on using him to cross again to a bulldog we should get more type then
Will that be another bulldog type, or a pit? A woman who goes on my walk got cane corso bitch, big strong animal, she as it loose all the while. OK they got to stretch legs, but dogs like that should have far more control on it, if it kicks with dog, it won't be like golden retriever gabbing it.!

does sound sad mate, and being good dog , i know what you mean. funny thing now, old Buck outside in his kennel/ run, every morning i go out side to get him, i call him out, and i am really thinking wonder if come out of his kennel, or he be dead inside, this always goes through my head every morning. but the old dog still come out and plods along , he eating ok , he seems ok just slowed down , but i still think if fox showed up or munjack in the woods he kill them no prob, he deff been my best lamping dog deff, i like you it will knock right back when he does pop off, but he doing well, you never get purr gsd in as good shape for a 11 year old dog like, him being greyhound prob helped his genes . he be my last lurcher, i might get me couple of none ped racing whippet males in future , i had nice little none ped bitch in the 80s, so might go back to them, but Buck doing ok as yet so no rush for the future as yet .

I'm sorry for your loss Bird. It's the hardest thing in life.
I do remember your posts and your pics of Bryn. One in particular where he was jumping a gate with a pheasant. I also remember when you got Buck. I'm glad he's done well by you.

Mate Ive not long put a 14 year old dog down and if he was fit and healthy he'd be here another 14, my earlier post was about people who will keep a dog alive when its deaf and blind and in obvious discomfort, I dont think you'd find many of them in the working dog game, perhaps I should have made it clearer in my earlier post
Sorry mate, must have read wrong, me minds be up/, down this last few months got lot on me mind right now with what happened.

I retired 20 years ago, aged 51.
I think the secret to retirement is to keep busy with something you enjoy.
Ive got the dogs, two allotments with hens, ducks, quail and a few game fowl, I like to grow veggies, it’s almost a full time job, but I enjoy it.
I just thought one day “ kids are gone, house is paid for, bit money in the bank, keep my travel benefits with the airline, why work until I’m too old to enjoy my retirement ?”
I wanted to retire at 50, but was asked to stay on for a year, which in retrospect was a good thing, it gave me time to be sure I was doing the right thing.
Enjoy your retirement, mate !
Cheers.
same charts ( 50) , but with me it was lower back injury , done 26 years at the local brewery marstons , but got good pay off from both union / company , was lucky back then classed as staff after 25 years so got good deal, plus my wife then, had very good paid job manager in adult education , feck knows why she picked thick fecker like me for lol. but it took 18 months really for my lower back to settle down. not to bad now, but do have sciatica now 24/7 in my left hip/ buttock , i just live with it day to day.

Said loads of times theyre keeping them alive for themselves not for the dog
you might be right , but the way i see it, if the old dogs in question have deff give 100% in the hunting field all there life , i think it only fair to the animal to show some compassion to it . dont get me wrong if you had fecker dont hunt for and only him self, picks his runs, or wont do a fox, or bigger stuff, etc. i wouldn't keep it . so if they been hard working dog for 8- 9 years i look after them. it very rare that you have kennel full of all similar ability , thats why there lot in pounds etc .My last 2 dogs bryn who was very good rabbit dog, but nothing else . i wanted dog do the things bryn wouldn't , and old Buck deff ticked the boxes for me. funny thing a mate from brum popped over to see me , since ive lost my wife , he never seen Buck at his best say 2- 6 year old . but he said to me you could see he been great lamp the way moving about now, if seen something scented somthing like today. he had lurcher x lurcher pit x deerhound grey bitch, he got a buzz watch her moving he come to life then lol, we had great 1 1 /2 hour , it done me good as well , another great mate for me. he not on any hunting site , we met 40 years ago whippet racing in the black country , he even said maybe we might go back to them once our old lurchers have gone , maybe ?? but old Buck ok for couple more years the way went after a munjack today

now i hope this aint true , but read that Fury only training (85% ) for this fight because of that supposedly cut he got back then ??? . well i got this gut feeling this fight might not happen. if it dont it proves that he scared of Uysk . if this dont happen this year , Fury should be stripped of that belt , and give it next in line to fight Uysk , and then uysk can fight for them 4 belts wich he always wanted to do since beat Aj. let Fury retire and live in a caravan with his old man , on his old mans site.
