  4. may the best author win good luck folks
  5. Hoop snares - they work in light soily or sandy ground. The wire must be high tensile. the rabbit hits the snare which is attached to the hoop. With the wire being high tensile, it just bends and springs back, if it wasnt high tensile it would bend and not spring back, the hoop would come out. Dont worry, the hoops definatly work no matter how it seems to the untrained eye
  6. Ian, was that because of my amazing (but so hard to understand what i was banging on about) idea :11:
  7. The overgrowth isnt as bad this year as normal years, as all those non stop days of heat had roasted everything

  11. --> QUOTE(james b @ Aug 8 2006, 07:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If its anything like last years show it was a load of shite and a waste of money I was on the phone to James and he informed me the show is a load of shite. Looks liek i will be spending the day making nets instead :11: :11:
  12. Hows about this say if there was ten articles A B C D E F G H I J Mr. Z wrote articles A B C MR Y wrote articles DE MR X wrote article F MRS W (equal oppurtunities :11:) wrote G MR V wrote H I J Right, the voting ended, with the following results best - Worst A B C D E F G H I J MR Z wrote the first three. but takes 1st prize (jacket???) so that leaves us with DEFGHIJ MR Y wrote DE (the next two) so he gets the lamp MR X wrote F, so he gets third place UNDERSTAND THAT? because reading it, i wouldnt have a clue what im banging on about :11:
  13. A dimmer switch :11: You would need a 12volt 1Way Dimmer switch - dont have a clue where you would get one or how much they would cost. The wiring would be as follows + (live) to main switch From the switch you would have a SL (Switched Live - Live when its switched :11: ) SL would goto COMMON © side of the dimmer You would then need another SL from L1 side of the switch which would goto the bulb unit. Then a - (earth) back down to the battery Good luck, you'll need it, fiddly little things them lamps
  14. on the subject of running hares, From 2003 to the hunting ban in 2005 we caught 27 hares. Thats with what i consider were fit dogs - for the breed of dogs You pit that against a Minshaw, not sure about the picture i saw, i THINK it was 27 in ONE NIGHT - i could be mistaken
  15. If its a nice windy night, i have never really had a problem with it

    Men

Some of you may have read in papers that men arent needed anymore Because of this IVF lark or something like that, we are supposed to be not needed. WELL where the hell are they going to get sperm to fertilise these eggs? Who is going to kill that big spider in the bath? Who will women twine & moan at? just to name a few reasons why we're needed, please feel free to add your reasons
  20. I thought i saw you by the lurcher ring... really you must have a double! Same here, i even said to miss Rabbithunter :11: that looks like on of the lasses from the site :11: :11:
  21. Anybody retrieve training your dogs, follow that tip. THREE perfect retrieves in a row ( i only do three a day)
  22. What lamp & filter do you lads n lasses prefer to use? On a personal note, i like the 240 BLITZ and GREEN filter (deako: you have some custom coming from me shortly ) Reason is, Pre-Ban i used to do a bit of lamping off the van for Hares & Charlie. So the longer beam was always better, I used it on foot as well and have never looked back. Before that i had the 170, and one night when i lost a fox in the beam i decided i needed a bigger lamp. And the green filter just seems to work for me
  23. martyn, I shall certainly try that as Skye Progresses sounds sensible Think Dog
  24. there are ways and means round it :11: :11: :11: Was it me that started that off with my genuine mistake?
