  1. Some of the things which the BNP as with ANY other political party stand for are good. But, unless you are an intrinsic follower of political theory, practice and future thought, you cannot make a true judgment on who to vote for. For instance, would your chosen party's stance on immigration fit into even the best possible structure and system for it? Don't Know? This is how involved you need to be to find a true answer in politics, not just voting for a manifesto and a figurehead.. Just my In view. Regards SS
  2. I had a nice surprise on Monday night. After weeks of waiting for the weather to calm down and the grass to grow, one of my farms was finally cut. I was planning on lamping that night anyway but this was a bonus as I knew foxes, especially cubs would be out in force after all of the little goodies that were nestling in the mounds of damp, cut grass. I phoned a fellow keeper to see if he wanted to come out and as soon as I mentioned the grass had been cut, he wanted to come! So we arranged to meet there at about 8:45. We both arrived within a minute of each other and got loaded an
  3. Belated Happy Birthday John. Have a good rest of the day. Enjoy Regards SS
  4. Thats a very interesting bit of history Scot. He died in Spandau when he was the only inmate. He refused to be let free unlike Albert Speer and others who were realeased in the 60's and 70's. There are many conspiracy theories surrounding his death, one is that he was murdered by "Special Forces" another is plain and simple natural causes. But yes, he was insane in the end, he was insane in 1946 at the Nuremberg Trial, try and find a video of him in the dock, he is rambling and laughing. He escaped Germany in 1940 to try to make a peace deal with the Allies, something Hitler n
  5. Exactly Mr L, The price of ammo is expensive COMPARED to a .22 LR . At 22p a bang, im not complaining when I shoot a Rabbit or a Crow, its cheaper than using a shotgun!!! Regards SS
  6. I agree Jamie, I think that the HMR will kill in the chest if the little bullet is put in Exactly the right place, i.e. You know exactly where the Heart or Lung is on a fox. If you are not Absolutely sure then the head shot is the most certain way as you can visually see the area you are aiming at, i.e. as Jamie said, between the Eye and Ear. If you plan to shoot foxes with a HMR, then you need to know exactly where it is shooting and would have spent some time punching paper. As for range, I know they will more than likely have the energy to kill a fox cleanly in the head at 1
  7. I couldn't see an Ostrich at that distance let alone a Hare. He must have a seriously high magnification on his Scope, most I have seen is 42x56 which started at x24. Regards SS
  8. GaryW is the guy to ask, He has a .20 Tactical, not sure he has had it or if it is still being built but it will be a superb fox round according to him. Regards SS P.S Dont forget , the .204 Ruger is a .20 calibre round.
  9. Anything I wanted to know about Digging on the olde Emerald Isle, I know where I could go to ask. This chap has come great stories to tell and certainly has his fair share of knowledge and experience.

  12. That is the sort of thing I was trying to bring out in this post Comanche. True Bravery in the face of a strong foe. He sounds like a honourous man. I have found a few more things out this week too; My Great Uncle was killed in the same battle that my Great Grandfather was invalided out of. He was shot only 24 hours before my Grandfather. He is buried in the War Cemetery in Naples, which houses all the graves from Casino.. His Brother, My Paternal Grandfather has never been to visit his grave neither did his parents, which I found quite sad and touching. I plan to go
  13. Nice going as usual Pal. Getting to grips with them now, and that Greycrow was the icing on the cake, always satisfying to get those so I hear. Good Shooting Both and keep at it. Regards SS

  17. Its nonsense mate. I am very involved in the Welsh Woodcock Club and nothing of this sort has even been mentioned. The Woodcock is no under threat in this country and the numbers fluctuate year on year so you cannot tell whether their numbers are falling here. They can compare the amount of successful breeding pairs which are resident here but not the migratory ones from Russia and Scandinavia. Where did this info come from? Regards SS
  18. No, to buy in bulk say 300 it is £10/50, to buy in single boxes then it will be more expensive at about £11-12/50.
  19. Last time I bought 300 and paid £9.50/50 which isn't too bad, I need to stock up again now and it is more likely to be £10/50 if I buy another 300. For a single 50 then more than likely £11-12. Regards SS
  20. Don't worry Tracey, I'll be there  :clapper: God Help!
  21. They are looking happy and healthy Tracey. What's the count at the moment? Im not sure about pink ones, the guns may think they're white ones and risk a Bottle of Whiskey for shooting them, they will be on to you then Keep us posted on how they are getting on. Regards SS
  22. Don't worry about it, just have theses responses in waiting. If he asks why you need a HMR over an FAC Air Rifle, You say that you need the extra stopping power at range and it is more versatile than an FAC Air Rifle. Also, If asked why not use a shotgun, You say that the noise and ammunition costs of a shotgun do not make for efficient pest control. Shotgun Cartridge=35p, HMR round=20p I wouldn't think he will ask you why, he shouldn't any how if you have sound reasons. The above answers are sound and watertight, they are above and beyond the normal reasons you need to give.
  23. Keep at them mate and keep your posts coming too . Thanks, I certainly will, once I have more then I will get a nice long, half hour job up on here. Regards SS
  24. Thats my next step, I will have to find out about that one, never know when you might need that aswell. SS
