  1. There is no requirement to inform them within a certain timescale the wording is very bland and obscure as normal with firearms law. See Here Also, I have a query about his parents in possession of guns. If he has the keys to the cabinet and sole access and his certificate lists that address there is no problem as his parents are not in possession as they have no access. When I first had my Shotgun certificate I lived at a different address to where my guns were stored as they were kept with my father who at the time didn't have an SGC. Access is the key word in this one. Rega

  3. Thats Great News Kay. He must have been just around the corner look. Coincidence from Chat last night anyhow. Glad you are feeling happier. SS
  4. No Mate, not since Tuesday, got a post here about it all. Im always up this late and much later, bit of an insomniac and THL helps to pass the time a bit. I have had a few cubs now, more to follow no doubt. Regards SS
  5. I wouldn't like to add anything really, only that I was wrong with that figure, which I freely admit. The receivers have got a better price for Litts than expected in the region of £1.2 Million for the business and the Shooting Ground. It should be trading very soon, more than likely under the Litts name on the same site in Newport having been bought by Sportsman as im sure you know. £60 Million is a staggering and wholly unexpected amount for the comparatively tiny amount of Cash Flow debt that they went through for. £60 M for under £40,000 of lost cash flow, amazing. A lo
  6. They will kill Game perfectly well. Many thousands of Game birds are shot with so called "Pigeon" cartridges each year with great success. I always stick by the following saying, "If it will kill a Carrion Crow at 40 yards then it will kill a Pheasant at 40" Regards SS
  7. Im afraid to say you would be wasting your money buying one of those. They are more than likely to give you a hardly accurate reading as the bore sizes and barrel sizes of ALL guns are different. If you wanted to regularly check the choking or bore size of a gun then you need to buy a bore guide. If its the odd occasion, then a trip to the gunsmiths normally suffices. Regards SS
  8. I have used them and many others of the same category of 30g No.6 and I have to say they are among the top two the other being Gamebore Black Gold Game. I have shot, what must be most Game cartridge ranges by now and Express always appear in the top few for consistency and killing power. I personally don't shoot No.6 anymore, rather, I stick to 28g No.7 Regards SS
  9. Clever of them A round of applause please
  10. You must have a Quad and only the WMR barrel?
  11. I must be the lucky one then Jamie. 300 to buy and 500 to keep for both the HMR and .222.
  12. Nice to have you back in here and Chat And good luck with the venture. Regards SS
  13. Thanks for the replies Guys. Dont think i'll be getting a lurcher anytime soon Spider Might get a bigger gun than a .410 though That last fox was a big 'un but no big enough for the .22-250. Glad you enjoyed. SS
  14. The video is very touching and stirring, hopefully a few more will watch it SS
  15. I have an old Baikal S/S in 12 bore. Any idea of the model? Mine is an old one and there are no choke markings on the barrel flats nor on the rest of the gun but knowing Baikals of old is will be tight and tighter. As Deker says, take it to your gunsmith and ask him if he'll put his boreguide through it. If its ridiculously tight then perhaps you could leave it with him to have it done to something like 1/4 and 1/2. This should only cost you about £25 a barrel or so. Regards SS
  16. It probaby will be, but that is what Central Scotland Police will allow on a first FAC for deer stalking unless one intends to home load. But on the brighter side they do grant an open ticket from the very start. Well you are very lucky to have that on the first grant as are many in Scotland who have it first time around. Maybe homeloading will be a viable option if you consider the fuel cost of going to the shop for 60 rounds at a time. I should think you could get set up for reloading for about £200, what that? about four or five trips to the gunshop and back in fuel? Th

  18. Spot on Snap, its just hitting them at that distance and on a lamp, even the best lamp, 350 yards is a very very long shot. 260 is my furthest on the lamp and that was a very long shot. I would say the average distance here would be around the 100 yard mark. Regards SS
  19. I am not a stalker but that seems very little to me for any centrefire. For my .222 and most of the centrefire users I know, we can keep 500 and Acquire 300 at any one time. and 60 may be inconvenient for you if the gunshop is a long way away. Regards SS
  20. Looks like she's Zeroed and the bullets are working. Well done mate, fine shooting. What calibre are you shooting there? Regards SS
  21. If it is only cleared up to the limit of an FAC Air Rifle then yes, he will need to re-check it. Some of the land I had checked on my application needed to be checked and it was then passed for up to .243 Another bit was passed for up to .223 It all depends on the land. It may be OK for a rimfire, maybe not. Just have to wait and see what the FEO says. Regards SS
  22. Dont lie JR, I got you an invitation to visit my alien friends when I was there the week before last. Im sure they will let you stay on if you ask them nicely Take your laptop with you this time They will let you go before long im sure I think! See ya soon, Maybe SS
  23. Not being funny, there is actually no such thing and there never can be. Democracy is a concept not a written rule book. The will of the majority will always outstrip that of the minority, How democratic is that? Democracy means Demos Kratos, "Power of the People." How is that possible when 60% of the electorate who voted didn't vote for the party which gains power. The Ancient Greeks, particularly Aristotle, always feared democracy as it would lead to Mob Rule, how right they were, and they could see that thousands and thousands of years ago. Its what happens when you don
  24. 1/4 and 1/2 for Rabbits out to 45 yards no problem. Full Choke will make them nice and full of lead shot. Plus, they will be jointed and cubed for you Not that full is quite that bad but its just unnecessary. Regards SS
