  1. cheers mate,i just need to now the steps 1st do i buy the safe,2nd do i aply for the licences, then look for a gun, hope you can help me out . It is more than likely it will go in this order. You will apply and hopefully have a visit within a few weeks of their receipt of your application. Then they will ask you to fit a cabinet or similar security arrangements before they will issue your certificate. During the time your application is in progress, you will more than likely be looking at guns, but when they issue your SGC then the serious Gun hunting will be done. Hope this h
  2. Good Going there Gilly. Im sure they will be the first of many with your new addition to the Gun room. Fine Shooting, Well Done. Regards SS
  3. They do have an awful lot of power to get them out of those situations too, the ones listed there are the known ones. Ever heard of a MP's Silver Badge? No? Well its the little silver disc that lets them park in prohibited areas and such and also, show a Policeman one and he knows what it is and who you are so its all kept hush hush. ( And if you think this is coming straight from Yes Minister, it is but its true.) So, there are a lot more that goes on behind the scenes, and as for their finances, they are very, very well off indeed. Regards SS
  4. I real good read there FD, you are keeping yourself on top them I see. Well Done, some fine shooting. Keep it up SS
  5. i know this isnt on topic but i couldnt help wondering if that means i could have a modern manufactured musket on my SGC? ty You could have a modern or an antique one as long as the barrel is over 24" long and is unrifled. The majority of smoothbore musket have very long barrels so this would satisfy the condition. If you buy an antique one, you will more than likely buy it off licence, as it is an antique, but if you intend to fire it, then it must be entered on your SGC and your department informed. The same cannot be said of those of modern manufacture, they need to be put

  7. Top Right hand Bar, top of the page, "Hunting Chat". Click on the room with people in it and hey presto! Anyway, I just thought that it was worth pointing out and reminding ourselves that there are not many communities in this country which bring our Kids up this way anymore. Community, Trust and learning from you elders is key to the hunters learning curve. Regards SS
  8. Yep, Trap it and despatch it somewhere inconspicuous on a local farm or similar. SS
  9. Shooting is out then. Snare or a live catch trap is your only bet.
  10. Aye Snaring, or if you have a friend with an FAC to shoot it perhaps with a .22LR and Subsonic ammunition. If the garden is suitable that it and there are no nearby houses. Regards SS

  12. I have just had a very warming and sincere chat with some members of the chat room. The conversation was all about Children and even though I have none it made me think that Hunters involved in all aspects of Hunting bring up their children to abide by principals and stick to their morals. We bring them up to make safety and consideration to other fellow hunters a main priority and we make them aware of a very strong community of Hunters which will help them as long as they reciprocate. In other words they are brought up in the "Old Fashioned" style which is to respect those more expe

  15. If you were given £10,000 today and told to do what you liked with it, What would you do? Personally, I would go and see as much of the World as I could and enjoy it while I can. What about you? Regards SS
  16. You can as long as your FEO has passed it and being an ammo safe, he will have. Regards SS
  17. Hi SS In your original post you said 'RBSS has been taken over by Ray Ward Gunsmiths'. My point was that Wards had only taken over the shop at RBSS, - not the Shooting School
  18. Where did I get the Airguns bit from then :hmm: Curious......I'll have to refresh my memory.
  19. Please don't fire them. Not because I think they wont be safe and work properly but How many of them can there be left? Better to keep them for prosperity and nostalgia.
  20. Which shop? The one in Newport? No, Ray Ward has gone into the RBSS showroom. And the site in Newport is where Litts will be for the time being. That was all published in the Shooting Times by the way. Regards SS
  21. As said, a Moderator is a Separate firearm on your FAC. I have two Rifles and two Moderators so I have four firearms. Each has to be secure. I normally keep mine separated from the rifles on the shelf in my Gun cabinet. The bolts from the rifles are in the ammo safe by the way. Regards SS
  22. Manners cost nothing you know. It's kids like you that give other kids your age a bad name. Does it make you feel big & hard telling grown men to f**K off from the safety of your PC? Gobby little shite, it would serve you right if no-one on here ever entertained your daydreaming, and never replied to one of your threads again. Ditch is a very well respected member of this forum and has been here a long time. You need to respect those with more experience than yourself and LEARN from them. SS
