  1. Cakes Tracey? What persuaded you to take such a miraculous and massive step? I wander how many of the Dozens, will be left by the morning God help Chat Tonight, with Lass on Zider and Sugar. SS
  2. If you have trouble using your hands to call, as I do, then try the WAM fox call. Its a small brass disc with a hole in the centre and is the best mouth call I have found. Off hand I think it was about £10. Regards SS
  3. It does sound nasty, a few people have told me about it in the Keepering game. I have also been told there is a vaccination for it, Does anyone know of such? It would be handy for all PCO's and Keepers like myself who come into contact with Rats through infestation and trapping etc. Regards SS
  4. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: I'm Praying for you Tracey, God be with you at this difficult time  SS
  5. Mods are the main cause of this type of problem. I know that a few CZ owners have had trouble with the factory screwcut not being completely flush. This would be your first port of call. Then as mentioned check for even the slightest marks or dents in the crown as this can affect accuracy no end. The Parker Hales have had a bit of bad press so let us know the result. Regards SS
  6. SG's? I have a box full and wouldn't fire them at anything over 20 yards 9 pellets in a 36gram load. Seems like guess work to me. Mind you, if one did hit the said Beast, with 1500ft/lbs of energy, it would do some serious damage. Each to their Own. Regards SS
  7. Nice Going there. Keep it up and you'll soon find it becomes Muscle Memory. Regards SS
  8. You'll have to catch me first 8) 8) 8)
  9. It sounds as if you have a Good young Man there Grim. I think you should ask him if he is ready first, Let him look through the scope with the Crosshairs on the Rabbit and see what his reaction is. If he is comfortable and at ease, then he will take the shot calmly and collected. If he is unhappy, he will leave it for another day. I'm not trying to put Liam or yourself off, but make sure it is not pure enthusiasm and that he has given it a touch of thought. If he is in his comfort zone then he will have no trouble. Let us know how you get on. And just take it easy, at 9, th
  10. Can't say fairer than that. The cartridge I use, on the rare occasion I use a shotgun for foxes these days, Are the Remington No.2. Thay hit hard and I have dropped more with them than any, even though they are expensive. Regards SS

  14. I can recommend Both a Person and a Website. The Person in question is Wag, Anything you need to know, I'm Sure he'll help you out. Him being a prolific Wildfowler. And the website I would recommend is http://www.basc.org.uk There you will find plenty of Information. As you are in Scotland, the Law is different regarding the Crown Foreshore and who may shoot on it. I believe that anyone can shoot on some parts but don't quote me on it Have a read through the BASC site and you'll have all the info you need. Regards SS
  15. Lazy Git, Driving all of the 65 yards They seem to be shooting well for you. Many don't go near them and Many have trouble feeding them into the chamber and feeding from the magazines. Regards SS
  16. Very Good Richie, and you have to reciprocate a Greeting like that to a Magpie, only right Good Going and Nicely illustrated. Regards SS P.S What NV is that?
  17. No.4 is 4.1mm No.3 is 3.3mm Closer to 3.3mm but unless the gun is proofed for Steel shot, I would not recommend putting any steel through tighter than half. I have seen a Test gun that had fire 5000 round of steel through 3/4 and Full, compared to a gun which had fired 5000 Lead, through 3/4 and Full and the barrels were noticeably thinner on the Steel shot gun. Be Warned and Advised. Regards SS
  18. Today is the BirthDay of THL's most prolific Poster, getting on for Ten Thousand Posts. Who else but Kay. I hope you have a Superb Day, and I'm sure the rest of the forum will say the same and all Buy you a virtual Drink, thats about 12,000 Pints of Bitter, think you can handle all of that? :drink: Have you any plans? Or just a Quiet day? Enjoy and Keep it up Kay What would this place be without you? Warm Regards SS
  19. A lightweight Semi Custom? Hmmmm...... Food for though John. Obviously the Main consideration I would give in a Semi Custom would be the Barrel, one that could be tuned to a brand of Ammunition and whose weight suited you. And a stock which was also produced to a weight that suits you. Specification is your main player, You will end up with a damn near full custom no doubt Heavy Profile barrels take longer to heat up than light ones as Im sure you know, and the accuracy will remain constant for longer. But there is nothing that stops a light barrel being accurate. Just that it

What have we all done to upset Mother Nature? Does anyone know? This cannot be the result of one of those "Global" things we are hearing so much about at the moment. Please send it to me on a postcard, C/O THL. I have just sat in the House for yet another Saturday watching the consistent rain thinking, "How can it be any worse?" and then it rained even heavier, just to spite me for thinking about it. It stopped for all of twenty minutes, I grabbed the chance and the Rifle and the Dog and went for a walk, Took the camera, and all I took photos of was all the bloody water. As if
