  1. Nice one FH. There are plenty around this year but, the same as you, I have been waiting for the rain to ease. Good Shooting, no more Lambs for that critter. Regards SS
  2. When I was stuck with clay soil then they used to grow small and roundish, same with Carrots. But now I have light sandy soils they grow quite well. The ground needs to be well turned and fairly light soiled if you want the Big thick long roots. Regards SS
  3. Nice going Rolfe. An Hour? I'd be lucky to see that many, let alone shoot them, in these parts, in a year! Poor Old Stork, bet he was White(Red) as a sheet Good Shooting SS
  4. Everything at the moment seems to be Doom and Gloom. The weather is awful, there is all this talk of recession and financial worry across the world. And all the other Grizzly things that are going on. So... What makes you happy? It could be hunting related or just generally. Personally, Helping others makes me happy,( there are lapses, but generally), it gives me gratification and I know I could call upon help from them in return. What else? The middle of the shooting season when everything has settled and things become easier. And one last one. Like-minded people make me
  5. The copper Jacketed ones look like normal everyday bullets. The Moly's look Black/Dark Grey. Has the load been developed for your Rifle? I mean has the load been started at the minimum load of powder and worked up? If not then I suggest you don't shoot them as you never know, but best to err on the side of caution IMO. Regards SS
  6. Nice one FD. Keep those foxes dropping and the posts to follow So which were you using? The .222 or .243. Keep at 'em. SS
  7. 7, 7.5, 8 and 9 In a 28g load. 7's are best for Pigeon in my opinion, an excellent pattern, and more than enough power to Kill a very soft feathered bird like the Pigeon. If it will Kill a Carrion Crow, then it will kill a measly Pigeon. Regards SS P.S And yes, I do use 7.5, 8 and 9, nothing wrong with them at all.
  8. They will smash them to pieces Mate. I have seen them fired through a .223, I assume you mean the V-Max? Dead foxy everytime no messing around. I should think even in the wind, there will not be a huge amount of difference as what you lose in weight you gain in speed, so 250 yards no trouble, and on a still night, whatever distance you want. Regards SS P.S What have you ordered Moly or Copper jackets?
  9. Oh it would be accurate to any distance in flat calm conditions, As Mr L says, it whether you can hit him in the Kill zone, I.e The Brain. And at 200 yards that target is Tiny. 220 yards is my furthest with the HMR but that was a Crow, needless to say he never felt a thing. I still would say 100 yards is far enough for a HMR where foxes are concerned. If you want to go further then a centrefire is wholly better. Regards SS
  10. Go into your Profile. Click on the My Controls Bar at the top Right of the screen. Scroll down the left hand side and go to Edit Profile Information(Something like that). Scroll down the page and see if there is a Bar there for Personal Profile Song URL. If not then you need to ask IanB to put a player on your Profile. And yes it needs to be a URL with an .mp3 code on the end of it. I'm not sure if YouTube links will work. But give it a shot. Regards SS
  11. Wish him all the best And keep mothering/fathering him till he is sick of it Glad he's Better Regards SS
  12. A pat on the back for you Will. You may be eccentric at times But there is goodness behind that front. There are not many who would do such a thing without expecting something in return and now you see the Gratitude you get for being plain and simply Kind. Good on Ya. SS
  13. Hi chap i think its a Beretta 682 gold E sporter m/c 28"/3" NEW and cased Ah Right, whole different ball game The 682 is Beretta's mid range Clay gun and thee Gold E is again more furnished than standard, so £1800 new is not too bad. If you were looking for a Game gun like the Silver Pigeon, then It would be fairly easy to get for under £1200 and if you are good at haggling less than that again. Back to the Original question. Can you remember the Model for the Webley and Scott? I handled one at the CLA and it felt very good in the hand and pointed very well too. I wish I
  14. Late Cubs they look like Speedy. Good going. Nice Shooting. What are you shooting with? Regards SS
  15. I seriously wouldn't recommend taking a shot with a HMR at that distance under 100 is considered to be the Maximum. Well done Smasher, great shooting there and some fair distances too. Regards SS
  16. Just one thing. Whats the position on Non Toxic shot in Scotland? I was under the impression it had already come into force for anywhere that was considered, "Wet Land". Otherwise a superbly informative post to give budding and Novice fowlers a helping hand. Well Done Pal. Regards SS
  17. £1800??? Which number Silver Pigeon was that? I would say you could get the 'S' for about £1100 even if you're bad at haggling
  18. I wander which one is Tracey? :hmm: Got It
