  2. Anyone been to either? If so which is the best one? Dunno which to go for will probably be monday for the dog show if shropshire, anyone know if there is any showing at the tatton one and what day that will be on? Will there be any have-a-go lure coursing at either of them?

Tatton is supposed to have terrier & lurcher showing along with "Chase the Bunny" comp. This is beginners simulated coursing.

  3. I'm putting this up for a lady who,s after a puppy, she enquired about my 6month old dog but i've sold him to eurwyn through this site. she's after a liver/white dog pup no older than 4 months old. It will not be going to a working home, but will get plenty of walks etc, must be docked and jabbed, kc reg.

    she lives near preston

if anyone knows of any about could you please pm there contact numbers.

    thanks

If it's not going to a working home she shouldn't be getting a docked pup !!!!

  4. As a non terrier owner (at mo ) and new to terrier work I really enjoyed the book. Great pics & a excellent read. The only issue I have is that there are a few "terms" that are not obvious to the less experienced. I know JD probably wrote it for other like minded terrier men but would have liked a wee glosssary at the back of book :icon_redface:

  5. Hello all,

Looking for a GWP, either as a pup or older. Just love the breed having looked after one for 6 months a couple of years ago. I am now in a position to start looking for one again.

I have been looking at pups but either they're either vastly over priced or the owners are fussy as to where it goes. I don't intend on showing or hunting - just day to day activities and pedigree etc is a secondary consideration.

I am not too stuck on a pup either. Does anyone know of a suitable outlet, perhaps for dogs that don't quite 'work' right or need homing? Bitch preffered due to size.

    Thanks,

    Eurwyn

    It's your lucky day!!!

I have an older bitch that I'm looking to re-home. Contact me with your details if interested. Good home essential

Thanks butcherboy, I've sent you a message but I don't think it worked. What's the story and history with the bitch and have you any piccies? Many Thanks.

  7. WHAT IS THE IDEAL AGE TO INTRODUCE SPRINGER TO GAME HAVE IT WHISTLE TRAINED NOW BUT NOT MET GAME YET

WELL I SHOWED HIM A BIT AT SIX MONTHS JUST TO SEE IF HE HAD A NOSE AND THEN TOOK HIM AWAY BEFORE HE GOT ANY BAD HABBITS

As previously stated no set age, it goes on feel!! Best to introduce it in a rabbit pen if you can get access, then you get to control the situation. Is it 100% on stop whistle even when there is distractions?

I've one cocker who is so hot he waasn't in the pen till 14months but another cocker I have will ONLY hunt when there is game about, so he was in pen a 4 months for a wee chase.

But I'll say it again, beg or borrow use of a rabbit pen, you won't regret it.

  8. Hello to all

My main interest is in working gundogs though i love to see / take part in most field sports. I have wanted a terrier (s) to add to my kennels both as companions & to be worked. hopefully an up coming house move will at last give me the room to take one on.

So on here to seek & soak up advice from everyone.

    Based in Lancashire

    Cheers
