  1. Simon You've been a bit quick on the draw regarding answering questions. But I'll try to catch up. I agree in modern western society we choose to hunt. Yes some would argue that all hunting has an element of cruelty. "if you choose to shoot its a guarenteed fact that your first shot will not kill instantly, its impossible." define instantly and impossible. If by instant you mean the turning off of all brain function then I agree. If by instant you mean the removal of all blood supply to the brain the by inhibiting cognitive function the I disagree that is not impossible. To claim a d

  3. Have you winessed it, or are you just going by propaganda distributed by the organisations you have mentioned? Trying to act pompous and belittle members only makes you appear foolish and suspect. So as i have mentioned, have you seen it in person? And do you think only riflemen have the rights to take deer? I will say that in this country its now a historical thing for me, BUT i do like your united attitude, and a hint of love for the LACS......... Simon I have personal witnessed the suffering caused to deer by coursing and I am not alone in that regard. No I'm not going by the

  7. I think you may need to reconsider your conclusions. Once you've reviewed the logic. For instance suffering is only caused by injury.......really? The clean, swift, ethical killing of deer requires that you use bipod, cammo gear and every other accesory on the market thus reducing our carbon footprint, and thus saving our plannet........... how do you come to that conclusion? I'm not being pedantic but by saying "only thing i know is ive never injured anything with a dog", indicates only one of two things. Like the hunter who says he never misses a shot. He's either not done very much shooti

  11. Matey, i certainly wouldn't let a terrier run rabbits there, that looks a very busy road, and as you have said, the streetlights making lamping impossible, so best idea (to me) would be a lurcher and ferret combination BUT that road would always be at the back of my mind......
  12. No, flat as a pancake with gravestones at one end:) It is a Cemetary:) The permission is also in an really awkward area, right beside a main road and round a bout and is lit constanly with the over head sodium lights for the road leading up to the round a bout and the round a bout proper. Trying to shoot the b*stards is virtually a no go as they can see anyone approach all bloody night so, problems all round. John To be honest sounds totally unsuitable hunting ground for either type, a lurcher will probably kill itself on the headstones or on the main road, and you wont be able t
  13. What type of land is it, and what type of hunting are you planning? Obviously if you are planning lamping the choice is simple, if the land is thick undergrowth etc..............
  14. Go on....tell us he touched you  Hes lucky if thats all he did a few old mates who he taught said he would get them in an head lock till they nearly passed out for misbehaveing in his class not by the head lock though they said by the smell of his personal hygine lol. I was a bit big for that malarky , he did keep asking why my dad disapeared, my dad needed a ciggy but i knew his hatred of smokers
  15. Go on....tell us he touched you  I think he left his mark on a lot of people.... Please dont encourage him The best whopper i fell for was when he told me the dogs did a certain mark to indicate how many rabbits where in the warren , i almost went home and shot my own dog
  16. Go on....tell us he touched you  We have spoken in great lengths at your kitchen table about my past, and now for you to bring it up here!!!!!! Next thing you will be boomeranging..............
  17. When i was 16 back in 1990 Plummer invited me and my old man up to Caithness for a weeks ferreting, didn't cost us a penny. Although i was young and impressionable and beleived all i was told until i got older and grew up , even so it was a nice gesture.......As has been mentioned sometimes the best experience is learning by your mistakes
  18. Do pet type owners want to spend almost 400 sheets on a weekend break to kill bunnies? Second thoughts i like the idea, any people out there want a ratting break with a terrier, you can kip in my spare room, have a pot noodle, toast for breakfast and i'll even treat you to a pizza at night...£300 per day Only messing, as i say best of luck to him, although i maintain its expensive Yes we do! It may seem steep, but his help and info is spot on. The only thing you need to bring is your dog. He covers everything from food to insurance. Have been on one of his days (not the Scotland

  20. Obviously he is getting folk on the course so good luck to him, just glad when i was young folk took me out for nothing. As for 17 k grouse shooting, well organised shooting has always been a more expensive hobby rather than the grass roots of ferreting.......
  21. Maybe they are finding it hard to get any ferreting of their own... So why pay £375 to still have no permission after the course? If they are finding it hard and have £375 notes im sure they would find local farmers much more welcoming........
  22. Today, i shall mainly be walking mutts!!
