This is a map of where the lights are around the whole artic circle......you can see Northern Europe has the thickest part of it and from abisko to ivalo is right in the middle of it...... If the weathers clear your pretty much guaranteed to see them if you stay for at least 3 nights......one good option might be to fly to Stockholm for the skansen Christmas market.......it’s basically Lapland in a nice city, the kids won’t know any difference and the whole of Stockholm is something else at Christmas time tbh......will cost a few quid but nothing like what you would pay to go Laplan

I’ve heard similar from a few mate.....I’d honestly recommend just booking a hotel in a northern Scandinavian town and go there......it will be Christmassy, there will be snow/reindeer and the northern lights but without the tourists

Never been to Lapland but I have been up to abisko in sweden tho which is about four hours away but still in the artic circle and that place is truly stunning, spent 3 nights at abisko guesthouse which is two mins away from a huge frozen lake you can walk on to go out for the lights......first two nights I was there were cloudy/snowing so no chance of seeing the lights but on my last night I was treated to a good show for about 3 hours and it’s a night I’ll always remember and hoping to go back next year but in the autumn when it’s a bit warmer than -17c at night lol Thing is with Lapland

Nice one mate and they have got my dads old deerhound cross down there and my old bull cross to atm, they are easy to keep and he can get out with them to with no hassle.....I’m sure my old man will get a pup in the summer tho, he loves his deerhound crosses so probably be another one of them

That’s exactly how misty went mate, tough as old boots aren’t they really, it’s horrible to see them get old so quick and even worse there’s nothing you can do about it.....enjoy the rest of her time mate and all the best

Had the old girl put to sleep today Although I’ve known for a few weeks it was coming it’s still knocked me about more than I thought it would, had her so long she became part of the furniture! Didn’t quite get to 18 but her back legs were going and she was struggling to get up out her bed so she’s at peace now......was a brilliant mooching dog and one that I’ve had many happy miles out and about with.....RIP misty

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing mate, especially not pubs and a quiet pleasant drink, but that’s not how it is for everyone. On the obesity, actually yes people do say certain types of restaurants like McDonald’s etc are a bad thing, they get blamed for that all the time, but that’s just the business they are in and no one forces you to go in there the same as a pub or bookies. You are right about it’s a grown adults decision whether to drink/take drugs/smoke etc I choose not to drink, others do......I have my reasons for not doing it and others have their reasons for doing it and as

Good question tbh mate.......one that’s hard to answer but I’ll try as you asked lol I wouldn’t say boredom as I was out most of the time, pool team, clubbing etc but even at 18 people were always telling me to slow down and take me time as I’d be downing pints trying to get as drunk as possible in record time. I’d say I was about 24 when I started drinking the next day as a “hair of the dog” to get rid of hangovers but then I’d get drunk that day, so would drink again the next day to feel better and then your stuck in its trap.
