  1. No, the wee bro was with the Rangers, I was with the Desert Rats with 1RMP. The Rangers were a good laugh. I worked with them again when they were sent up to Fort George in Inverness around 2007. It has all changed now, the 7th Armoured are now Infantry apparently.. but it was good times, good folk. and some really 'shit the bed' moments when out on reccy for longer than a ratpack lasted.. well mine anyway Sometimes I look back and think I would love to go back, but it is a young man/womans game.
  2. During Op Telic my Mom had both my Brother and I deployed, and it was only recently she mentioned how bad a time that was for her. As a young lad, you don't give it much thought, but now as a father, I think I know what she means. That was the only time we were deployed together though.
  3. Our Government, since at least Tony Bliar, are an absolute disgrace.
  4. Yeah, I can't rip the arse out of it, as I go away for Northern Ireland matches and local club games in Europe. It was all good until the we'ens came along, now it is all responsible stuff ffs
  5. I didn't think people trapped stoats! There you go
  6. Meh, I just looked at the other half.. bloody Yorkshire women.. Take some pictures
  7. Actually, just last night we were talking about tarantulas, and a Vietnamese one in particular. I;m not sure if they eat them there, but they are an old world 'look don't touch' spider. Very pretty, but a nasty nasty bite. Some lovely species of snake as well, a few of my favourites.. how much was it to go?
  8. Must be legal in Vietnam.. ?
  9. I remember in the 90's doing the door, and us having to bail out the McDonald's door guy a few times. From kids getting electricuted, ODing and fighting, it was a f***ing bear pit after 1am!
  10. love you loong time.. Why there out of interest? When I get itchy feet I grab the tent and head off somewhere for a few days

This would be my thinking as well. When I originally heard about it, I thought it was the 'pet' crowd influencing, but the more I read, the more I started to see people wanting smaller and smaller.. like a stoat or something ffs! Is this what the 'EU' strains are all about?
  12. P metallica was the metallic blue pokie from India that people were going mad for a few years ago.. I remember them going for over £100 a sling ffs.. madness. Especially when you consider that there are other pokies that look as good, and then you have the fantastic avicularia.
  13. They are lovely.. I remember having cambridgii and pulcher years ago, as well as the irmina. Communal as well to an degree if I remember right. I kept P murinus (OBTs) as communal, and it looked fantastic.. I was sending slings all over the country ffs All the pokies make for good display as well.
  14. I think mammals in general can be tamed to an extent.. so those ferrets on thon Island would be great to add fresh dna. It would probably be better to grab some jills and let them go in a controlled spot, with a collar on, and in heat... rather than try to tame the wild ones.
  15. That is funny, because my mate does education visits to schools, and the only one that has bitten him was his Chile Rose.. apparently it hurt like hell, but to be fair to him, he just carried on and I went up and took it off him All those old world species, especially the African ones, can bring a sweat on.. I think my missus still has a video of a Cobalt on my neck, and me going 'ah shit, ah shit'.. I only have about 10 now, with my B smithi pride of place. She is 10 now! Still a bitch though, kicking hairs.
  16. Aye, it happens. A lot of folk don't realise that we have lizards here The falsies can give you a nip, but it is very unusual. I've had brown recluse, proper widows etc, and lots of proper, big as your hand, tarantulas. Never been bitten, in over 25 years. I've a few snakes as well.. bitten loads by the non venomous ones Of course, I'll probably get nailed by something tonight ffs

It seems that a lot of folk are wanting the smaller (ist) animals. I'm away to look at a few litters tomorrow, and hoping there are a few good sized ones!
  18. My wee lads barking rat thinks it is a rottweiler or something.. great alarms! That said, surely proper yorkshire terriers can and are worked in places? Or has the fashion lobby ruined them?
  19. They are cool wee critters. I like having them come to the backyard.. that said, it is a rarity nowadays in the city. Now and again I get baby hoglets that have been abandoned. and feed them up etc for release.
  20. The females are usually bigger.. one of my hobbies is keeping tarantulas.
  21. There are still some oul school working coon dogs around the Florida/Georgia/Alabama area. It is like a different country when you get in with those folks. Good times.
  22. We have all licenses here as well.. but that was more to do with us having the bad habit of shooting each other.
  23. The thing is that these days, pellet guns are Co2 powered and powerful! I remember the ones we had as kids, spring powered and stinging, but hardly a killing thing.
