Hit man...the money is good and the hours are short, other than that "shooting" for a living is hard work, daft hours and poor pay....but I love it!!! Who wouldn't, 02.00 in the morning, freezing cold, up to your ankles in mud and covered in the damp from the mist..must be mad!

Scotland and now your probably going to tell me I need lessons on what to shoot Roe with. You really are the business aye. NO that's why I asked what part of the country you are in, 22-250 is more than capable of stopping Roe deer (and reds for that matter) but there are legal issues of course with certain calibres, certain deer and certain regions of the UK!!

Thanks for the banter but offered good advice on AIR RIFLES that can deliver from other members No you haven't...you have just been told about higher powered air rifles that can deliver -100ft lb! I really do think you should calm down and look at the facts, how many of these people who have mentioned high power air have any experience with them? There are only a handful of Air Rifles that will deliver -100Ft lb and they are just as dangerous as a Rimmy. In addition a sub sonic rimmy will be in the order of 100ft lb and the majority of sensible EXPERIENCED shooters will

No idea in your area but have you heard of... http://www.justcartridges.com/ They will deliver!

sweet looking spot mate you better invest in some good walking boots lol..........a was thinking more along the lines of a quad!!!!!!!!!! Looks like a lot of open ground there so you may have to invest in that other quad..and/or a centrefire as well! Good on you..enjoy!

Why do you have concerns about the 452 trigger, do YOU find it unsatisfactory or are you simply being swayed by certain opinions? I have a 452 with the original trigger and I have no complaints, but I am going to invest the few quid to try the Brooks version (If I can get one anywhere) to see if it does make the difference people claim. The 453 Trigger is DIFFERENT and I hate set triggers, so your question is more than a little difficult to answer. I'm not keen on the original trigger, and I've put enough bricks of ammo through it to get used to it. Still don't actually like it thou

We may or may not ever know the real figure but £15 Million does sound incredible! (even though they have a load of my money) Lets just assume they lost £10,000 per working day (which would be incredibly difficult) that's £60K a week or £3 Million a year...so they would have to do this non stop for 5 years to rake up £15 Million!! PS As a matter of interest I have heard nothing back from the administrators yet!

Email sent to Rimfire Magic!

Rimfire magic or did you get it direct from Eric????

richie Seen one or two of these photo guides before but this looks pretty helpful to me. I still don't get this trigger business, got my Silhouette (NEW) a couple of years back and the trigger is fine, as far as I'm aware it is the original and was not upgraded automatically by the dealer before I picked it up. Anyway, I have heard, and continue to hear how much Mr Brooks improves things, I recon I may just have to invest a few quid to see!

Guys.... Unless there have been some changes that I am not aware of the "Police etc" have got this wrong. The common mistake is "Occupier"....... Its quite simple really..................... ------------------------------------------------------- Home Office Firearms Law Guidance to Police 2002 Exemptions from the requirement to hold a certificate Shot Guns 1968 Act Section 11(5) of the 1968 Act allows an individual, without holding a shot gun certificate, to borrow a shot gun from the occupier of private premises and use it on those premises in the occupiers pr

Well...my CZ is a Silhouette in .22LR as well, but I have a SAK on the end of it and the full length barrel. Following comments based on HUNTING ammo, and do not necessarily reflect target ammo results! Eley ammo does work pretty well but it isn't cheap, I have tried loads of subs and supersonics over the years, CCI subs I found worked quite well but were tight in the breech, Winchester were ok, Federals, Remington, Lapau, Aguilla, Sellior and Bellot all presented certain problems wether it was to do with loading/cost/consistancy. Sub sonic wise I now use almost exclusively Magtech 40

Particularly interested to hear your views/comments on any/all of the following and regardless of the task you have put them to or the gun you have mounted them on: JSR Target Pro 4-16x44 JSR Target Pro 6-24x44 JSR 6-24x50 Mil Dot Illuminated PX JSR 6-24x50 Sidewheel PX Good/Bad or indifferent, please let me know what you think if you have any of these........PLEASE, NOT what you heard up the pub or the friend of the bloke you bumped into said! Many thanks Deker

Re load your own subsonic, about 150g HP, good moderator (or even a predator 8 ) and it will sound quiet as a mouse! You could even try re-using those Wolf Steeel cases Failing that, throw stones, use a catapault, slingshot or bow and arrow (or just top that old girl who puts notes on the windscreen ) I'll get my coat!!

If you are talking conventional shoots and birds flying at you then I can certainly see and agree with 6 or 7 but most of mine are taken in the rough, often on the ground and at all angles, ..I favour 5 through 1/2 choke, those feathers can be tough and 7 are a bit light for rough shooting them in my experience!

Ok John...where is the Summer BBQ and Christmas Party......... and how the can a post like this turn into a discussion on the quality of local water????
-
Help me out please, I seem to recall some discussion not so long ago about this but can't find anything. I believe there was more than a little concern the T3 could not stabalise the 100g round in .243. Can someone please advise. Many thanks!

Be off shortly to the 2008 version, bit of a ritual every year, but somehow I manage to buy something I've always wanted or been after for years (even though I didn't know it). Same old faces, same old stands, same old chat and same old Bisley, but somehow I look forward to it every year! See you there!

...and what about the grass in that field a couple of days back...we nearly got lost in that (and exhausted)......send the picture to Colgate, not seen to many toothpaste adds in the shooting press so it could be a new market for them!!

If you shoot a fox CLOSE with 36g AAA there will not be much left to take a picture of, from memory I think you are talking something like 1600ft lb of energy in one of these, that makes a mess close! Be okay if charlie is a little further away as the pattern will mean you will only hit him with a "few" lumps!
-
I would tend to agree with John here, 6 are definately too light. BB would be my first choice and probably with 1/2 choke, AAA are a little big in my opinion for fox, but all situations are a bit different. My first choice in 90%+ situations would be a rifle, but I do not deny that Charlie has stuck his head up close in front of me and run off quickly several times; if I had the shotgun in my hand and not the rifle he would not have made it!

be carful, if a get a mod for a .22lr the mod itself is classed as a firearm...."In this Act, the expression “firearm†means a lethal barrelled weapon of any description from which any shot, bullet or other missile can be discharged and includes —© any accessory to any such weapon designed or adapted to diminish the noise or flash caused by firing the weapon;" (firearms act 1968) so if you caught with a proofed mod, you could be done for possosion of a sc1 firearm without a certficate, then say goodbye to your FAC and good luck to ever getting it back! you wouldnt get don

Who can tell me anything about these, I have had it suggested they are very good value for money! I used to have a Whitetail Classic Nightview 3.5-10x50 which I thought was good but I have never heard of, or seen these! Main problem is I can't find anyone who sells them, anyone point me in the direction of a dealer so I can check them out. Many thanks.
