  1. Just a few pics off my phone, a few miles locally this morning with the hounds behind the bicycle and then back home for a cool off and a foot bath in the stream before breakfast.
  2. All good thanks mate, great feedback from the others that I’m in touch with too.
  3. Hey there @Night Walker hope all is good with you. Mother’s been better, she’s fit and raring to go certainly not showing any signs of slowing up but she’s on box rest at the minute ? tore a big strip out of herself on barbed wire, thankfully it’s just skin and is healing nicely unlike my wallet after being in the vets ?
  4. @poxon thanks pal, lots of areas are void of rabbits at the minute there are little pockets about. I’m quite lucky around here there is enough to keep me busy and the freezer stocked. @Daniel cain sorry to hear that, all the best for Sunday. @Flacko I have her Dam she is a Collie/Kelpie X Grew and I put a Grew over her to produce this one.
  5. It's good to be out even if the cover is still up and it is still quite mild nothing beats being out with a dog, a box of ferrets and a flask full of coffee ? The young pup is coming on well and is benefiting from a bit of one on one time as her mother is currently in the sick bay. Roll on those crisp frosty mornings, happy hunting.
  6. Alright Tomo this is the bitch I kept back from the Paddy mating, I put him over that Kelpie Cross you sourced for me many moons ago ? she’s a corker, a little slow to mature but it’s all coming together now.
  7. Yesterday we had our opening meet, hounds went well. All the best for the coming season
  8. I’m sure I could’ve charged more than that gimp in East Lothian for his flea bitten crap ??? never sold a dog in my life l’ll have that on my headstone ?
  9. I made some coin out of that litter ?
  10. No worries then you should know the drill ?
  11. Jobs change on May 1st you need to speak to the hunting office and get on the list it’s the same as any other job you will have to apply and if selected go on interviews. It’s very unlikely (not impossible) that you will walk straight into a terrierman job there aren’t many left in the UK now, best thing you can do is get your foot in the door as a kennelman for a few years get some experience of hunt service and if a job comes up go for it. Don’t know about your age but be ready for the job, driving licence, trailer licence, firearms, ATV certificate, chainsaw ticket some may even require yo
  12. Sorry I can only do one a year, it’s so mentally draining getting into character he is so far out and full of shit it is not a nice place to be for too long.

  14. The only thing mighty about him are his whopping lies.
  15. Didn’t he used to be on the forums under the name “Whin”
  16. Lurchers and Longdogs, E.G. Walsh @Phil Lloyd‘s books are enjoyable Gazehounds and Coursing, Dutch Salmon Coursing the pursuit of game with gazehounds, the standfast sporting library The hunting gene, Robin Page (not completely about running dogs but a very good book)
  17. Not really photography just a pic I took on the phone earlier
  18. Guess I’m lucky in that respect my dogs earn me my wonga they don’t cost much but they keep me in this lavish lifestyle ?
  19. Obviously there are some people that need that from a dog but most people don’t. An animal like that is no good if it can’t be out with you the majority of the time, there’s nothing wrong with keeping hard working types provided you can do them justice if you can not commit to that type of lifestyle I would steer very clear.
  20. I would imagine in the wrong hands they would be a total liability. Cattle dogs are purposely bred to put pressure on whole herds of animals much larger than themselves. If they come across any stubborn beasts they solve the problem with their mouth, I believe that’s where the name “Heeler” comes from. They are robustly built flatout working machines with the heart of a dog fifty times their size if you don’t need that kind of animal in a running dog I wouldn’t add it.
