Need work to have money and you need money to hunt to a certain extent wheter we like it or not you have to pay bills to but i would deffinatly agree with you that the lad who works 5 days a week and still gets out with the dogs every chance he can is deffinatly passionate about the dogs. I know lads who work monday to friday hard graft and are still out on the lamp 4 or five nights a week when the weather is right. So i think if you really want the best for your dogs youll find a way to make it happen regardles of work because at the end of the day you need to work to live

Very few working lines of lakelands out there, and even fewer borders unfortunately... the chances of getting a good one is slim, theres good and bad in all breeds but when you go talking about percentages of workers, neither the lakeland or the border would be many lads first choice im sure.

Its easy breed and make your money back anyways off the pups, all the cool lads are at it !

Next season will be his year so ?atb with him ?

To be fair, im sure those old hounds were bred purely on working abilities and putting grub in the pot, anything that brought something extra to the table was probably bred in.

What type jobs do you boys work that allows good time off to work your dogs hard week in week out, or how many days a week are lads actually going out and doing a bit during the season, i myself amnt working at the moment and was out at some type of hunting 5/6 days a week over the Christmas last season, but will be looking into probably going back and sorting myself with a trade or something where a whole pile of education isnt needed?
