John bowkett... get him to work his magic

    FF

+1 for John Bowkett. He designed the gun and his work is second to none. On top of that, he is very very nice to deal with. Leave him a message on 0121 745 4287 and he will get back to you.

He worked his magic on a few of my BSA's including my fac S10. He will not only service it, but also improve it.

    Cheers, Louis

  2. Sharp pellet tub

    Hi,

I'm looking for a Sharp pellet tub. They came with a green, orange or blue lid.

Manchester Airguns sold them in the good old eighties together with the Innova's and Ace's.

Would be fantastic to find one! I'm prepared to pay a good price as these are rare.

    Cheers, Louis

  3. Beeman C1 .22 - 85 pounds bargain - reserved pending payment

    Hi, I'm selling my Beeman C1 .22.

    It's a bargain at only 85 pounds.

I recently fitted a Maccari kit from the US, which makes this gun super smooth to shoot.

It was made by Webley for Dr Robert Beeman in the US who wanted a fast pointing carbine hunting rifle.

    Any questions, please ask.

    Cheers, Louis

  4. Hi, a BSA Ultra would fit the bill perfectly. Reliable, built like a tank, light, compact, plenty of shots for a hunting session, accurate, good value for money.

Shoots well out of the box, but there are also lots of tuning/customising options (eg. Huma reg, different stocks, caliber swaps).

I've got 3, will never sell them.

Good luck with your search and enjoy!

  5. Hi, my name is Louis and I enjoy hunting both with fire arms and air rifles.

I prefer air rifles to be honest, as I find them more accessible and less dangerous.

My collection consists of: BSA Sptifire, Firebird, Ultra, Superten. All blueprinted by John Bowkett last December.

And a fac FX Bobcat in .25 :-)

I also have a 12 gauge Merkel over and under, and a .308 Heym stutzen.

I'd actually like to ask if someone has experiences with the Titan Bearcat?

It looks like a lovely little gun, and I've heard that they are well made (JB design, need we know more).

I am looking for one, but they seem to be difficult to find; probably most are in collections now, or somewhere in an attic.

    Many thanks for looking,

    With kind regards, Louis

Ps. Photo: target practice with my .22 Ultra

  6. Hi, I'm thinking about buying a s/h Browning 325, and wondered if anyone can advise me how to find out if it's a steel rated gun?

Would the age give and indication? Or would there be a mark on the barrel indicating the testing pressure? Just asking as the seller lives quite far away and doesn't know either.

    Many thanks Louis

  7. Hi there :-) My name is Louis and I'm a 29 year old Dutch vet (small and large animals) living and working in Devon. Unfortunately I'll soon move back to Holland (Amsterdam) as my girlfriend wants me back. But this forum is and still will be interesting for me, as I'm a keen hunter and hope to come back to the UK (no, I'm not going to write the B word, which ends in rexit). I've got a shotgun and firearm certificate, here in the UK and back home. My collection consists of a Merkel o/u 12 gauge, AYA sbs 12 gauge, .308 Heym SR20 stutzen, and many many air rifles. Tbh I prefer hunting with my air rifles. But I might grow into using my .308 more. I've primarily bought it for high seat wild boar hunting in Germany. In case you're interested about my air rifles: FX Bobcat .25 fac (48 FP  ). 3 John Bowketted BSA's: Superten .22 fac, Ultra .22 fac (I know, not a great shotcount, but 20 is fine at 20 FP), Spitfire .177. Ripley AR4 .22 fac with a beautiful custom thumbhole stock. Theoben Fenman .22, Eliminator .25 fac. Falcon Prairie .22, FN12 Lighthunter .22. Daystate Huntsman Classic .22 fac. Don't tell my gf  .

I'd like to call myself an "ethical hunter", which I am also obliged to my profession hehe  . Well in case you're confused: many vets hunt, believe me. I look at animals in a loving but also natural way. And believe it or not, but I'm on call now and have just been called out to look at a poorly rabbit. Whilst I was actually planning to take my Bobcat out for rabbiting. Karma....

    Many thanks, Louis

  8. I had a .25 'Eli' that was running at 30ft lb when i bought it but i dropped the ram presure to 26ft lb and it was a nicer beast to shoot but still interesting to cock in the prone! Mine was seriously accurate with H&n ftt's and i could head shot bunnies at a lazed 60yds.

They do take skill to shoot due to the recoil but give a lot of satisfaction. Scope you want a Simmons pro-air. Seriously tough and more than capable of taking the recoil for the big Eliminator.

Pic of my old one below.

Hi optelic2, I've just bought a .25 fac Eliminator producing 26 FP. Was looking for info on the gun, and then I came across your post, which made me decide to join this forum. Is it possible that I've bought your gun? That would be cool! Mine belonged to a former Theoben employee. I'm new to this forum, will write an intro, now I'm going out to see if I can bag a bunny with my .25 48 FP Bobcat :boogy: . If you ask me the logical question, what's the serial no. of your Eli?, then I can't answer you yet, it's going to be sent to my rfd somewhere this week. But it would be a bit of a coincidence to have the same gun as I think there aren't many 26 FP .25's. Many thanks Louis (Dutch vet living and working in Devon)
