  1. A credit to you Richie, all the best mate.
  2. Morning everyone I hope I'm not being too cheeky but I'm looking for a little bit of help with introducing my Lurcher pup to ferrets. It's been well over thirty years since I owned a running dog and Unfortunately I've lost contact with mates who kept ferrets so thought I would ask here. If there's some kind person out there who doesn't mind me bringing my pup along it would be most appreciated, she's nearly 11 weeks old, had all her jabs so will be able to go out and about from tomorrow. She's gonna be a bit too young to do anything serious this season so I'm really just concentrating on t

  4. Hi all I have an eight week old Lurcher pup which I've started retrieve training, she seems very intelligent and learns things quickly, one peculiar characteristic she has is that she will very slowly stalk a thrown dummy and when she's within a yard or so she will suddenly pounce,no matter how excited she is she always does the same thing, stalk then pounce, but she always brings it straight back quickly, I'm not complaining as it's amusing to watch and can't see it being a problem when she starts working. She has about a quarter collie blood in her so I was thinking that could be why. I wo

  6. All the best with the pups Richie, did you decide to keep a dog back as well as the bitch ?.
  7. Just like to say a big Thankyou to everyone who has either offered me pups or put me in touch with others who have them it's very much appreciated so thanks lads. I've just picked up a six and half week old bitch pup. Dam is beddy/whippet x greyhound and Sire is collie/whippet x greyhound, both working dogs and both 24tts so she's exactly what I've been looking for. I've no idea how to post pics but will try to suss it out and get some up. Thanks again and all the best. Steve
  8. Having only recently joined the forum I started a thread a few weeks ago asking if anyone knew of any upcoming litters of beddy/grey x collie/grey litters of pups , Ritchie replied ,and through several pm,s and phone calls , I had my heart set on one of these pups after he kindly sent me some pictures and some videos of his bitch working and catching. I was probably as impatient as him for the pups to put in an appearance but Unfortunately and disappointingly for me Mother Nature only produced the one bitch pup which (understandably) Ritchie is keeping back for himself. If the pups turn out

  13. Morning all, first post and it's a bit of along one so here goes, I have been lurking around the site for a while now as I am shortly due to retire and looking for a bit of help and advice and a few pointers from you lads on acquiring my first Lurcher after owning a beddy/whippet x collie/whippet over 30 years ago. I must confess to initially being interested in the Hancock Lurchers but after digging a bit deeper and reading through several threads quickly decided against it as it seems the parents are not true working dogs so possibly lacking in a strong prey drive !( no offence intended to
