  1. I'm not owning any more real hard terriers they just don't survive here. The parson circles them, darts in an shakes then drops then repeats, always watching the head. He makes a weird chattering sound when he's doing this. I hate watching it but you can't disturb the dog's concentration, The whippets stretch them in half. I try to keep the dogs away from getting them and usually shovel the snakes.
  2. One of them had 5 mice in it,the dog shook them out of it.
  3. That bitch got bitten, took her to the vets cost me over 2 grand and she lived. She got another one 2weeks later and died. My Parson has killed over 30 of these cnts Eastern browns he's smart about it not as game as the denning russells, These are the worlds second deadliest land snake. You see them daily around the place.
  4. The whippets kill snakes in the yard and kill spiders in the house, probably why I like them so much.
  5. We aren't all like the wolf creek dude, lol. It's a very laid back place but as long as you aren't as thin skinned as our whippets and can take a joke, which you do with flying colors, you'll be fine mate. Just bring a 44 gallon drum of sunscreen and a hanky on your scone with the corners in knots. Also don't swim in the ocean as a bloke got eaten just yesterday who lived close by (true).
  6. In truth your welcome to come over mate, you have the good smart ass attitude for oz we'll have you up no cost, just don't bring those sand draggers, lol.
  7. I reckon dogs and ferrets too get better with age, don't know about us humans , lol.
  8. Don't care what colour you are mate I'm ginger and suffering.I should be in the fiords, lol.
  9. She'll come good, most are like that at that age, main thing is ignore their defiance, same as kids.
  10. Not a hare hunter but watching the rabbit dogs run a hare is magic whether they catch or not. I remember one day it was snowing in the tablelands here then it stopped and the dogs ran a hare in the dead still .....
  11. I know you are joking but the one above is a top example of a whip/grey. Bowline sounds like bovine = bull= bullshit, lol.
  12. Over here most of the working type whippets probably have a % of cattle dog/kelpie, most being on farms. You do see pricked ears on ped show types. Maybe some pricked eared breed coming through back when whippets were first developed ?
  13. A lot over here do now, they could have other blood in some cases if from workers. I personally think it looks up to shit but I wouldn't go down the looks road breeding working dogs.
  14. I rattle a tin with a rock in it at feeding time when they're young and they come out of warrens to it.
  15. I wouldn't pay that for a hooker but I do go through the antibiotics to be honest.
  16. Don't know about wellies over here me feet will drown, lol.
  17. I wasn't targeting the thermal just general technology. Not all people have the same ethics as you as far as keeping a decent population going. I'm an old bloke and behind the times it seems but I think hunting should be kept traditional and basic.
  18. I feel with rabbit numbers low in most places we need to be sporting about hunting them. With all the new tech any newbie with little skill can wipe out the remaining animals. Surely dogs, ferrets, nets, scopes and bush skills are enough.
  19. Said run out of laughs but still have some; lol.
