I just got the vid to work, it’s not a video of what they saw it’s the same footage those kids filmed of one eating a sheep a short while back, ?but the body length and tail shows it’s clearly not a sheep Timothy, should go to specsavers ?

It's "tail" is it's front right leg as the animal reaches back to lick/scratch it's rear. Can't see a dead sheep, just the black thing sitting amongst sheep ??‍♂️

That’s the way Id do it if the dog actually knows what it’s doing by running down the beam but as the lad as said he’s not having no luck I was thinking an trying to comment without trying to offended him by saying literally walk out from we’re the rabbits will be heading for home that way you can be completely on top of the rabbit you know the dog as seen it before slipping plus your as close as you can get the dog to it the dog could even take it out of its seat with you close enough to relieve the dog of the catch I get what your saying gilbey I don’t think there’s no right or wrong way it’s what ever works but I was sort of thinking it’s probably better being behind a novice dog running reckless away from you after a rabbit than towards you at full tilt with a lamp shining directly in its face that ain’t got a clue what it’s doing yet

Yeah I've done it that way with rabbits sitting way out on white grass etc ?

obviously keep the lamp off the dog same as any other situation

If your dogs old enough to run drop it on top of green rabbits far out in the open field walk out from were there going to be heading for home try an box them out in the open offer the dog a good chance of a catch to build confidence no long winded slips at edge lines just yet But remember you showing being disheartened of no catch if the dog doesn’t make a catch will feed of that knocking the dogs confidence more. Your job is to make the dog think it’s the best thing since sliced bread to walk this earth using your field craft your job is to build a young dog up offering opportunities that go slightly more to the dogs favour to begin with then you can relax more

Just a different take on it, I prefer to stand where you think the rabbit will head and slip the dog, that way the dog will get more chances and hopefully you won't just end up lighting up the rabbits path home ??‍♂️

Processed food is what kibble is. It's not food, it's processed.

I would only use it as a supplement to 'real' food ie meat, fish, eggs, veg etc. To think that dog biscuits/kibble can possibly be fed full-time to a dog without issues long-term on its health is ludicrous and extremely naive.

Just like processed food for humans, it's not healthy because it's not food in its 'whole form' so therefore our bodies do very little work digesting it and often than not go on to develop allergies, intolerances, weaknesses, cancers etc etc. That's a fact and undisputed.

Sounds wonderful to think that our canine carnivorous friends too can live all their life on some processed mix of ingredients and chemicals in the shape of a small biscuit.

    They can't.

They do though, my boss recently lost his collie at 16, fed nothing but wagg and later Tesco's complete. Not arguing just saying, plenty farmers do similar ??‍♂️

Is it f**k cruel ffs honest to God you wanna stop hunting. Just Tying them off isn't cruel abit of fishing line round the base nice an tight. Listen even letting the vet do it doesn't mean its a certain that the hob will do his job after a vasectomy specially if he's a young hob an never mated with a Jill before. So you could pay out abit of money and get nothing back just a hob that's flat that will just sleep an eat. A pal of mine had one done when young. Like a say people have gone soft

You don't seem to know the difference between castration and a vasectomy, I did try and explain ??‍♂️

Your horse was castrated... A castrated ferret won't bring jills out of season....

A know it's an old post this but can't you just do what that Peter does on yorkshire vet an just crush the bollocks ? Simple enough init ? No bollocks no kits ? Think about what they did back in day a think people have gone too soft. I've seen horses done an they just crush the pipes an many animals they do it.

It would be extremely cruel and painful, and might or might not "neuter" him??‍♂️

A "vasectomised" hob mates with the Jill's as normal and brings them out of season, which is what the thread is about
