id never feed a pup once a day ? little and often threw the day
make it varied with some kibble in there my self wouldn’t add supplements ever just good varied diet
You know it, exactly that that's more natural, wild mother's don't just carry back once..

I do it as it gets them into routine straight away and its more natural and better for the stomach. For the pup it doesn’t matter too much until they get to about 6 month when they develop their adult teeth so they can chew bone but I feed once per day from the day I get the pup as its more of a personal preference but either way you can’t go wrong mate.
When the pup is old enough to eat a chicken leg then its time to feed it once per day as you need to allow the dog time to digest their food. Give your dog a cod liver capsule and add a teaspoon of raw honey a couple of times a week too. Whilst the pup is less than 6 months you should smash up about a quarter to a third of one calcium tablet (calcium not calcium with D3 or anything else) and put it over their food as they won’t t be consuming enough calcium since they aren’t yet eating bone. The calcium is important at that age as they require enough to ensure their stools are hard. Not enough calcium the dog will have the runs, too much and it will be constipated. Once the pup is eating a chicken leg remove the calcium as they’ll be getting it from the bone.
Another important thing is never give your dog tap water make sure its river water or filtered to remove fluoride.
Thanks for the reply. I'll stick to lots of small meals and just a good varied diet, I don't go down the tablet route. Even give adults a breakfast.
I've got tap water down all the time no bother, that or running water I like the look of

Providing the pup is left with the dam and other pups for at least 8 weeks, preferably as close to 12 as possible, and you feed your dogs separately and don’t let kids around them you shouldn’t go far wrong with the pup that you choose. Some pups, though its very rare, are just born without the desire to work, no matter what training methods are used. A dog that has the desire to work has potential providing the owner puts the time in everyday. Check the jaw and the eyes when choosing a pup.
I’d recommend feeding the pup a raw diet from day 1, don't give the pup kibble, feed it once per day and use chicken legs not wings. Feed it rabbit and take it for walks by itself sometimes and if it barks when chasing other dogs nip it in the bud gently. ATB
Why do you feed once a day? Always fed pups lots of small meals, cheers

Why do you think they turned gooduns, change of environment ? smaller kennels or gone in house perhaps could be any reason I suppose
Cant take anything for granted in this game even if you have the right well bred litter in front of you.
But first you got to get past all the schiesters along the way.
It's a funny old game for sure
Must of always been in them, better owner, better suited owner, keener owner?

Real good dog men have kept the wrong pup back. Racing folk have let the fastest go can think of a few dogs that have been taken back to the breeder or moved about then gone on to be well known real uns

Always just picked one I like that's the main thing.
Check everything looks and sounds right, and the parents do what you want or have a good chance of doing probably better ways but nobody really knows

I know what your saying mate, how far back was sandman do you know
He's about now, can't mind how old. Personally wouldn't take much notice of his paperwork
-
Plenty of clips of him running about.
Only Lennon would know his real breeding

Has anyone seen or heard anything of beardie lurchers lately, other than Hancocks?

Probably just part of my weirdness but I can't have anything on my feet around the house, wear whatever out and never think about it

An elderly isalated in poor health lady probably gets her fair share of dead sheep, and what she says doesn't go along with what the big cat chaps always say

think the fact you were all willing to accept the wild boar story with zero evidence and guidance from the authorities and a nause Internet influencer shows that there is zero point in trying to hold any serious conversations on this topic in an open debate
Thought it was a blonde boar the first time I saw it, when it was still a "lion". Because it looks like a blonde boar and has a little swishy pig tail etc

Can't comment on gundog coats. The best all-round coats I've seen are "slape" collies, the rain/snow runs off, they don't gather crap/debris, aren't too heavy
Probably suffer in real cold though, everything has a thick double coat, my dad apparently had a Samoyed cross as a kid that you couldn't see sleeping in the snow covered over. Seen huskies on the TV doing the same, no kennel just staked out on a windy hill end

Is it safe to say it’s a gimmick
What could be left of the old blood if it was there in the first place, with all the over breeding and outcrossing, the Brittany and Picardy are already right at the back of the Peds, in the time most people have had one dog. Some cracking looking dogs mind

He put a non ped whip over his first X Speckle, got a good catch dog but the cross undid what he was trying to achieve, apologies if I've worded that wrong O P

He said himself that he had put Picardy into the line !
Cheers.
Yeah, advertised them crossed with all sorts over the years, but they are superior to everything else and can't be recreated with modern crosses
-
Him and his brother have crossed all sorts into these over the years and think people forget. Someone did a DNA test on a pup recently which was interesting and Jeff seemed worked up not sure how reliable the tests are but there was husky, poodle, Labrador, others that I can't mind, possibly bull? Can't see it now

Such a short clip, but it's a blonde boar to me

Not having a go but GM sees cats and cat sign in everything, and if anybody points out the obvious he calls them or plays the victim. FD did bait him, but is more of a countryman and actually sees what he's looking at, obviously been about

I was born into salukis, read lurcher books and thought about a few different lurcher types, but a saluki litter came up at Consett and I got a fawn dog. The parti at home was alright with no training but a Muppet with other dogs. I trained my fawn like I'd read in the lurcher books and he was fine with other dogs but much more independent

She just had some 1st X beardie greys on pets4homes. Not long ago she had some 3/4 grey 1/4 collies.
Seen a few Collie over lurcher litters recently not much else

Years ago my mother had a dog PTS at home by her vet, like others have said.
Also known people get the vet to do it in the back of the car, instead of the stress of going inside

What to look for when choosing a pup

If raw works for you and yours great personally I think some dogs do better on meat and biscuits, don't know about saving money, I could feed raw meat for free but choose to buy Aldi mince, tins of fish and decent biscuits as well etc
