  1. As a kid I shot everything that moved I know now it was wrong shooting bluetits and woodpeckers and anything else that moved but it was a natural instinct to hunt that still simmers below the surface of many, I now no how important it is to nurture youngsters and show them what’s right and wrong, kids are a blank canvas we can’t blame them for not being shown better
  2. Children should be taught to shoot and make a catty for the day the lights go out
  3. 40pints of Somerset’s finest
  4. Have said this before but the lack of money in game these days has pretty much killed things for me 1980s90s deer £100 fox pelts £25 rabbits 50p trout a quid even squirrel tails and jays wings 50p if that money was still on the table there would still be good lads making a living under the radar, but why go out and kill loads just to leave it in a pile the day will come when money will come back into it and true poaching will return its all supply and demand probably be after ww3 when we wake up to what’s real and what’s bollox again
  5. Boys got a mirror close to 40lb sat on a baited spot under his boat pics not very good but just you may be able to see the beast
  6. It is not illegal for your dog to accidentally get up on a hare or deer, just take your dog for a walk and if it brings down a deer by accident put it out the way take the dog home then come back later without dogs, think when you drive out with dogs lamps etc in the same motor then chuck your catch in the boot you are just f***ing yourself up and don’t film it, I know people that drive the lanes at night picking up roadkill nothing the law can do stick a lurched and a lamp in the car and your f****d it’s always the motor that is your weakness the games changed massively so the players need to
  7. And that’s a rap another one in the bag Glastonbury torr through the mist
  8. I,m just a bit hyper mate couldn’t stay in the same place for a week, that’s why I,m getting a motor home this winter when the prices drop again
  9. Did have mates when young but when you come home from school and find your house packed in the back of a van and family waiting to go because we were moving again you kind of get used to not getting to attached, done lots of fighting and thieving there’is always a pecking order and when your the new kid all the time you start at the bottom but totally agree with the second part and have spent months of my life driving my children to everything I possibly can and will do the same for the grandkids
  10. Why not just get a large poster on your living room wall turn the heating right up and stare at it for a week be cheaper but just as exciting
  11. Hottest day of the year today but wind is howling
  12. Have a meeting later on today with some film makers they are typical city folk but as the documentary they are making is in Glastonbury they have chosen the legendary roger Wilkins cider farm for a meeting things could get very messy I,ve drunk this gear all my life and am aware of the dangers but I can see a few people spewing out the nose by the end of the meeting lol
  13. Bit of a loner me have a few reliable good mates but spend 95% of my time on my own and got much worse in my older years I used to walk out of school at PE lessons unless it was swimming, guess a lot of it was down to my parents never trusted my old man and never had any form of encouragement from my parents just put out on the street from around 12 to get on with it so was probably the reason I learned to look after myself and not trust others, my own kids are all much more rounded because I encouraged them to take part in as many activity’s as possible girls did gymnastics netball hockey kic

  21. I don’t ever go on the football thread as my expert opinion is that dogs chase balls not people, but most blokes can talk a glass eye to sleep on that subject

  23. Sounds like time to build an ark, but joking aside ground water don’t always go to the bottom of the hill, my brother in law Wes a driller and soil sampler he tested the ground before building commenced and I remember a few occasions were he has hit water on high ground there is a golf course near me that’s way above any low lying land pretty elevated but a couple of meters down he hit what must have been an underwater lake the gusher was immense, you can have a solid crust of a meter or two with water underneath so the builders may have breached the crust, most of portishead is built on a cr
  24. Oh no you didn’t say that lol
