I’m the king of blagging stuff? site works just about money I’m far happier doing private jobs but I’m a miserable tw@t and don’t like may ppl so working in the fields suits me to the bone! bet your mrs has noticed your a happier bloke for chasing what you want to do? -
When I was a young lad I can remember sitting on the moor with me dad and looking down on robin hoods bay and in one of the fields below us watching a fox run round a group of three or four big trees, it went back an fourth and into the open then back to the trees.. it then took off jumped a stone wall then strolled off, two mins behind the hunt piled into the field and the hole job went tits up! the hounds were all over the place not a clue where to go or what to do there not born smart but they get craftier by the day?

That’s mint stav? it'll be great fun for him in this boring lockdown period. nice one.. think you ditching the mechanic Job was the way to fly you’ve got a good skill set with the different jobs you can do? I’m one dingdog away from ditching site work and going back to basics on the stone walling -
you'll never get away from the fact that it takes more energy to get a .177 up to 12 ftlb over a .22 but if you can iron out all the slack and smooth everything out you can pretty much get them on par! if I was going to buy one for myself id go for a .177 as I do like hitting the woods with springers. you couldn't pay matt to swap his 177 for a 22.. he is a full on accuracy nut id be happy with his groups at half the distance

they can dodge poison and traps but a lump of lead in .25 takes some shaking off.. nice one nige

not sure what's on the website but I know there are two hw110's in with laminate stocks, nice looking guns and hes got dive bottles in too give Marcus at davy and son a nod and say si told you to give him a nod and he'll give you a good deal
-
could get one tomorrow Mitch all I know is that that the .177 cant be brought up to full power is bollox and it'll shoot as well as any springer as ive shot! im not a bad shot with a springer but there are better.. and the one I got as a tester is still hitting bottle tops at 60yrd after nearly two years without being touched I like messing with stuff as im a kitchen geek with a lathe, but a few weeks will make this bargain basement riffle a match for any top end airarms or hw at 1/3 of the price! best little lightweight springer on the market by a mile

£300 a day to fund a researcher.. wonder if he was out at 3.30 this morning chasing them about! I'm thinking about writing a book about how to keep ten mins and two fields behind them?

Low power fx wildcat
si brown replied to airbourne's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Haha... not that si that back plate is only a few mm thick and all the ones I’ve sorted came out without having to resort to the blow torch, big board screwdriver and a couple of taps should free it? It’ll be a little bit of thread-lock... if you don’t fancy doing it wait till the shops are back open but I wouldn’t bother with a tune on a mk2 -

Pretty sure your problem will be the brass locking plate at the rear of the action! behind that plate is the hammer adjuster and if the blanking plate/ anti tamper is not butted up tight to it it will back out and lose power/ spring tension... take gun out of the action remove plate.. it’s easy, turn the hammer adjust clockwise till the power returns to just below 12ftlb then tighten the plate back up till it locks against the adjuster and the power will stay true! this is an adjuster that someone has made but you will get the principal of what I’m getting at? -
this place doesn't hold big numbers, you'll have a flurry mid summer but its basically the cubs then just randoms after that! think there just after easy meals with having mouths to feed cos the majority of foxes taken on there are on the back fields taking rabbits and ground game.. saw more foxes on the chicken farm this winter when out for the early goose fights than the pig farms but theres shoots all round where I live so I dont know why they bother with the chickens and its well secure, unless one makes it over the fence theres no way a fox is getting in.
-
You can’t really tell from this as it’s a shot of a vid I filmed last night.. was just getting dark and 280 yard away with the pard.. but that’s mum and 7 cubs were running about, ive been watching them 3 weeks now, I saw a badger go in the den the other week and what a racket.. thought they’d all be dead but billy must of got his arse kicked.. they’ve Relocated to a new den about 130 yrd further up the hedge line and Billy’s no longer about

This Dog fox was taken first light sat morning! got a call that had followed on from a call at the beginning of lockdown sayin stay away don’t want anyone on.... 50 piglets went missing last week so one down and back again tomorrow! its an 800 acre site and we’re sure there holed up over the railway line that’s not ours and belongs to a hunt so bar a taking them on his land we have no choice. got cubs on a couple of other places at the moment and if these ones are at the same stage I’d say there’s a good chance they will survive as there quite well on

mine wasn't grouping to well and I tacked it down to the spring tension in the magazine deforming the pellets, I pulled the mag to bits and let one turn of tension off and its been fine since no more jam-ups and groups mint now like villaman above says get a Chronograph, it'll keep you legal and let you know what pellets doing what -
Every thing is cheap Chinese stuff nowadays Tom, all the lathes and other stuff I’ve bought over the years direct are half the price of the same stuff rebranded over here? think the chinks are gonna have to fight to keep there trade going after this nightmare levels out! youll be well away at work with the social distancing, you’ll be able to sit back and just monitor the press and let the lackeys crack on:)
-
ive lost count of how many springers ive resurrected over the last few weeks Rez.. and the conclusion ive come to are there are loads of air rifles that you think are sh1te that will hold there own with the best once there fettled got a Ripley in bits/boxes that needs putting back together if I can be arsed to do it today, this bat bug lockdowns turned me into a right lazy git. still getting out as the lambs are vulnerable at the moment and crops are getting savaged.. can keep to the social distancing so all good'ish

we get to see some great sights... I was out the other night looking after these, this was the moon at 10pm I could of read the newspaper it was that bright.. mum and dad weren’t playing so I sat and watched 3 cubs playing, gave up at 1.30 as I was nacked

You could go into merlo meltdown over this way, this place is just down the rd! There are loads and he must do descent deals for locals cos nearly every farm round heat has one:) -
