  5. Thanks chaps..sounds like we all might have been lucky. Within sight no!..within earshot, well maybe? Older and wiser these days..don't think i'd like to take the gamble! Still got an interest because of this and been known to shoot to a few clays at gamefairs..just maybe i'll take it further...atb

  7. Barrel/scope clearance looks like trouble to me..but then again i'm just a rookie
  8. Well lads..it's that time of year again when all I seem to do is pull money out left, right and center renewing fishing memberships..worked it out roughly i must spend 6-7 hundred pounds a year easily on fees, salmon rod licence, day tickets etc. Got me thinking about paying for airgun permission..how many of you do/would do? How much would you be willing to pay for that perfect bit of land which you know is full of it!? Would offering to pay when you go door knocking bag you more permission or is it a case of money just can't buy everything? Any thoughts lads...atb.
  9. Got a question gents.. now this was 15-20 years ago, me and a mate of mine had the farmer's permission to do a bit of ferreting and have a walk about with the airguns..Anyway, quite often on arriving he would go to his cabinet and basically chuck a 410 and a 12 bore in our hands (there you go lads,go get the rabbits sort of speak) Now neither of us two had a shotgun certificate and the farmer new this. We never questioned this either believing he new the laws and what not surrounding guns etc. Farmer and permission long gone now and just a distant memory but i still wonder if what we were doi
  10. Ha ha..mental tw**ts the lot of you ? Cheers lads
  11. I think he would like one for pellet testing and not competitions Spot on villaman.
  12. Appreciate that bigmac 97kt..might take you up on that yet. Was going to stick a pod on her eventually anyway so might just fast track to one if they're just as steady.
  13. Right chaps..any recommendations for a bench rest? Got the 100kt and scope sorted and now on with the job of finding the right grub for her. Getting decent groups with a couple of pellets i've tried so far (few more to try yet) but using unorthodox methods to steady the girl.. (don't even ask!?) So to give each pellet it's fair chance I'm looking for a bench rest. Googled a few but not sure how the 100 sits in some of these? Any piccies or advice much appreciated. Atb.
  14. Suppose years ago us oldies only had one choice..the springer. Had the same decision to make myself recently after getting back into the scene after quite a few year's away from it.. boy things have changed and the choice is mind blowing. Decided on a pcp this time around. Got some great memories with the webley hawk, excel and eclipse springers though.. think a springer could be on the cards also..
  15. Done both over the years with no problems.. except earache off her for reeking the house out with boiled bunny! Not sure about the freezer killing off any nasties tho.
  16. Same with the large focus wheel..alright for zeroing in and paper punching and then it's off.
  17. Weight not too big an issue..(the way the gun fits and pulls nice and tight in helps if you know what i mean) Saying that time it's got a bipod and sling on its going to be putting on a bit of weight. Will certainly look more into those cylinders..cheers.
  18. You have a HW100, a scope with a large side wheel and you are concerned about weight? Off and back in the box as we speak..matter of seconds to attach/ unattach.
  19. BUMP!..well for anyone interested in the weihrauch hw100kt and the hawke airmax 4-16×50 sf..here's a few photos with the medium mounts. Had a mare trying to get the sportsmatch medium mounts (out of stock.. highs in stock everywhere) ended up with the blueprints- model TO35D..rust proof and made by sportsmatch apparently with the same 'A' measurement. Zeor'd in ok at 10,15,20,25 yards..will push it out to 40-50 when i get chance. Can't use the sunshade with these mounts because it clashes off the barrel support but personally wouldn't use it anyway to keep the weight down. Flip up lense on the
  20. fields were bigger too.. my old permission was cut in half by a housing estate development..followed by a McDonald's..
  21. Ashamed to say that 6 litres of that stuff got me a stint in the big house 20 years ago.. gave me heartburn too so never touched it since. R.I.P..The mad apple!!
  22. Enjoyed that.. What range were you zero'd at?
  23. Years ago I was walking to work with a brush in my inside pocket (lad at work wanted one for his six months old pup to rag about) anyway i passed a couple with a doberman running loose and ended up getting bit by the buggar..resulted in bruised ribs off the attack and some sore knuckles for defending myself! Found out a few weeks later that this couple had the dog pts because of this incident. Never told them what i had concealed in my pocket and the dog had obviously got wind of it.. oh the guilt! Morale of the story is don't go to work stinking like a fox..
