  1. A bit out of order pal, we have some sound advice passed over on this forum and in a number of cases, meet up for both social and help.
  2. I do recall Mark Williams saying that he used a spray on his mags Jimmy to keep them running well and ensuring the pellet passed into the chamber correctly. I am sorry to say I don't remember what the spray was but I am pretty sure it was not a silicone spray or a normal oil and I think it begins with B, sorry Jimmy, send Mark a message. Phil
  3. Sorry that should be £60 - £90 per gun
  4. Now then Si, both Jimmy and myself have tried to get hold of you, have you changed your mobile number, a bit concerned we can't reach you mate. Give one of us a call to let us know you are okay. Phil
  5. I was talking to a friend of mine a few weeks ago who is into 'airsoft' shooting and he showed me his latest creation in terms of stock paint treatment. I was well impressed so I got him a couple of old stocks that were lying about for him to paint them with his design using an airbrush and one hand painted. I know he has done a few guns for other people and was happy for me to post on here for you guys to see. If anyone is interested in having their gun stocks painted by him, I will put you in touch as I am not involved at all but I believe he would charge about £60 - 70.
  6. That looks a nice spot for the pike mind you it has been a very strange year for piking, so much rain knocking temperatures all over the place and it seems to have had a big effect on the fish. Phil
  7. As I understand it, my rfd said they can order as much as they sensibley want, no real restrictions but the supplies are only just starting to come through. I bought 200 yesterday as I dont use too much of the round. Phil
  8. In my rfd yesterday when a delivery arrived of V Max, he told me that there is over one million rounds arrived in the UK a couple of days ago so you should be able to get some pretty soon. Phil
  9. Just sent over photos and got a price, Nath has a very good rep so he will get the job when I have just sorted a small issue found today. Thanks Mitch. Phil
  10. I have just done a thread on Rimfire, centrefire and shotgun section but I will jsy bring it up here as well, I have just bought another shotgun which has no chequering on either the stock grip or the forend so I was thinking about stippling the stock which looks good and works very well but no idea how to do it or perhaps use some form of gripper tape although the floor grip tape is a bit too aggressive. Any ideas would be gratefully accepted guys. Phil
  11. I picked up a Miroku MK38 trap gun the other day for a super super super cheap price, the gun is old but in very good condition, fitted with a comb raiser that needs refinishing, easy job but the stock grip and forend has no chequering at all. I took it out to a close perm to try it out on a few woodies and clays with a trap I keep on the perm, all okay but the grip is lacking so what the hell to do. Chequering I think is going to be pretty expensive which on a gun that I paid £100 for is a bit silly. Stippling looks very good and offers good grip but I have never tried it so not sure ho
  12. This moron is very well conected as he has the highest civil honour to be given by the monarchy...................god know how or why, He is highly rated by the BBC as well, I do recall the farmer on Countryfile saying that Packham simply was talking rubbish when he managed to stop the pigeon the other summer to the point that if no public appology was given, the BBC would sack the farmer from the programme. Makes me sick as Packham has no knowledge of country matter whatsoever otherwise he would not have made the various comments regarding farming and ways to keep birds from causing damage t
  13. I would buy a selection tin of JSB pellets which is a good economical way for pellet testing, I think they have 7 various types of pellet in the tin including several of the sme type but in different diameters so you know which is best suited. I use a paving slab as a back drop with or without carpet, very quiet and no fear of it rotting unlike wood. Phil
  14. I bought one years ago for my HW100 but the added weight plus a big scope at that time made it far too heavy and its been in a drawer ever since apart from certain trips or zeroing sessions BUT I don't think I would part with mine because it is a quality bit of kit and I may have a use for it on my hmr rifle. Phil
  15. I was over there today but sadly no terrier, just guns.
  16. Welcome aboard, it will be interesting to see how your hunting is compared to here albeit that most of the UK air rifles are restricted to sub 12fpe (ft/lb). A few of us on this forum use what is termed in the UK as FAC airgun which means the gun can be any power level but we need to have a 'firearms certificate' to own and use one. What power level is your springer. The rattle snake looks an interesting target although I would keep my distance of those critters. Phil
  17. Nothing showing just a black rectangle........... it would be good to see. Phil
  18. If it is that new, just phone BSA technical department or send them an email but why do you want to know. https://bsaguns.co.uk/ Phil
  19. I had a couple of hours spare today so I decided to go to one of our squirrel perms and fill up the feeders ready for a session tomorrow or Friday. The feeders are sited in a long disused quarry that is full of trees with ivy growing both up them and covering the entire ground. As the temperature at ground level was around -1.5 degrees, the lower level in the quarry is around 5 degrees colder and my bloody feet were like blocks of ice after only being in there for about 40mins so clearly I had to get some new boots which would also be well suited for my winter pike fishing. A trip into Sc
  20. Good to see you back on Mark. I actually thought it would be a good idea to hang on to the tripod stick as you could use it as a back rest in the hide Take care old boy......................oh hell I am older than you...................oh well you get the picture. Phil
  21. As we have not heard from Mark for some time now, I sent him a New Year greeting and to see how he was, well all is not well as our Mark has had a very serious stroke which has left him very ill. Mark's wife, Kath, very kindly responded for Mark and rather than me trying to cover Mark's condition, I will post Kath's reply to me so you all know how he is. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kath's reply to me :- Hi Phil, This is Kath Marks wife, Mar
  22. You and the little one are very welcome Jimmy and Mitch you can go forth and multiply........................... Phil
  23. I do believe many types of fish can tolerate salinity changes and fish such as mullet are found in the freshwater side of a sea loch locally and pike roach etc are found on the sea side of the loch and seem to survive well enough. A few years ago whilst pumping black lugworm on a Lincolnshire beach, my daughter found a baby pike in one of the pools left behing by the ebbing tide which must have come out from a drainage loch a couple of miles further over. This little fella was only 6 or 7 inches long and seemed fine, I had no option nut to leave it in the sea water as we were busy getting ba
  24. Who is a lucky boy then. Phil
  25. Very similar to the CARM mags which are sprung loaded and very good too. Phil
