Hello All, Had a short chat with Snoop earlier and unfortunately Razor left us last week. This special dog was born on 4th Sept 2008. Provided one man with 6 long hard seasons performing at the highest level. He has sired some great dogs and his name lives on through them. I know there are a lot of you on here running dogs with his blood so thought it was right thing to do and share the sad news. Rest in peace this most special of dogs. RIP Razor

Took dear old Dusty for her last walk today...? I was gifted this good-hearted pup, from a guy that in reality, I hardly knew. I traveled from my home in Hampshire to a Welsh Valley and collected her... She was a super friendly pup and fitted into our lifestyle, no problem. She served me well, for nine long years, we had some good times, caught vanloads of game and enjoyed plenty of laughs,... I am sad to say goodbye ... Just been in the garden and laid Celt to rest. 15 and half and been my best mate for all that time. Was surprising what this lad could do, ferreting, lamping, work with the gun etc etc. A desperation mating with my old digging terrier and my 3/4 collie grey as the dog I wanted to cover her couldn't do it but my terrier could! I had the mother scanned and if she had been coming with a belly full I would probably have aborted them but the vet said 3 or 4 so I let the birth happen. I stopped over at mums and seeing some nostalgia posts appearing in the forum thought I'd take a few pics of photos she has of collie lurchers I had in late 70s and 80s. I am indebted to her for helping me out on those occasions when work or landlords meant I couldn't keep dogs from time to time. She had a soft spot for lurchers and always had a rescue or 2 as well. I still have a first cross collie and they rate each other. He remembers where she stashes old dog toys and leads her on a tour of the house to collect them up each visit. After an MRI Scan it has been revealed that my prostate cancer ends no further treatment. After X-rays on my shoulder(following a fall whilst setting some crayfish traps where I maybe should not have been) they say that mild osteoarthritis is my problem. Heard the cuckoo again. Saw my first rabbit in ages which was a black un. Heard that rabbit population on one of my old perms is on the mend, East Midlands Airport. Her in doors still loves me. What a day. Jok.

Had the old deer/grey cross Lima put down today. 12 1/2 year old, retired her at 10. She had mammary tumours for a while, which didn't seem to bother her, but it spread to her lungs and I didn't want to see her suffer so the deed was done. First cross deer/greys seem to have gone well out of fashion these days, and are derided by some, but were the go to dogs back before the Saluki crosses came along, up here at least ! I've been busy the last few months with work.but just before I started back in work SheepChaser travelled an 8hr journey to bring me a young bull x bitch for my lad.. And today I met up with Mc Hull who also travelled to meet me halfway to gift me a young bitch pup from a litter he bred.. Can't fault them both.and neither would accept a single £ from me and considering today's inflated price for dogs the pair of them are into working the dogs and not making money from them.. I’ve just become a grandfather for the first time. My eldest girl just had a baby boy ??? .......

It comes to us all when we keep working dogs and today was my time to say goodbye to an old friend and worker. When I made the transition from being a soldier to starting a business as a pest controller she was my main dog and without her I would never have made it. She was an honest worker who would get up out of the kennel and work seven days a week with never a grumble. She took some serious knocks in her working career and a few i genuinely thought had killed her. I've lost count of the amount of times I stitched her up out on a job and she just got up and carried on working.

Please forgive my indulgence but I had a very happy day yesterday! Some years ago I thought my family line was over, but no, I now have a few young “Charts” to carry on the family name ! The hardest thing I've ever done was watching my daughter get married this past weekend.Im still crying.I taught her to catch crawdads when she was little. She had a natural talent for bowfishing. She loves to shark fish. She had always been my digging partner with terriers until one day she brought this boy along with us who is now my son in law. An eventful week for the lads this week at #Invermark... Patterdale Terrier, Charlie, disappeared down a hole at work, during fox control and luckily had his tracking collar on so was easy to locate. 7 #Gamekeepers over 3 days, a total of 72 hours and under 12.5ft of solid rock reunited Charlie with his owner this afternoon at 4pm. A massive thank you to R K Services in Montrose for kindly loaning a rock breaker to help with the epic rescue mission, that was almost called to an end this morning. Today I officially retired my dog Brian from the foxing World. Full weekend at keepers spot ,but while I was there they have all chipped in and donated 500 quid to the ward my granddaughter had her operation on. Ward 23 freemans hospital .unreal . Plus donated some prizes for the raffle my family is doing .any way we had 4 yesterday and 3 today happy days .
