  2. Not sure miners would have been so willing to weigh in after ‘84, and Orgreave etc. As for nowadays, people are more likely to stand by filming with their phones. Who’d be a copper now? Public have zero respect for them. You rarely see them compared to when I was young, and when you do it’s two 5 foot nothing, slightly overweight young women getting out a van at McD’s, and who look like they’re weighed down by the uniform (PPE) and all the shit they have to carry. Doubt they could run the length of themselves and as for nicking someone who didn’t want to come quietly, you’d need about two

I knew i was heading into the Lakes tomorrow, but didn't decide exactly where I'd be walking until this morning after discussing it with a work mate that's also coming. Got a route planned from Seathwaite. Just over 10 miles there and back. I'll be up at 4:30 am. Driving for 5am and hopefully have the boots on and walking for 8:30. I'll have 7 hours driving tomorrow but hopefully it'll be work it! I'll whack a few pics on tomorrow..

  12. I believe some of the stories in the bible to be true, I believe there was a massive flood but I believe this to be a tsunami probably caused by an earthquake, but people at that time had been told stories of a vengeful god, I also believe there was probably a character called Jesus but I don’t believe he was the son of god, for me the numbers are all wrong, things were happening millions of years before us but all of a sudden once we came it was all about us and everything before us was irrelevant, if god created man in his image why do we spend so much time hating each other, surely we are a

Two side of the same coin I guess. Ass hole is an asshole regardless if it's on a pig or a frog

  17. Check out “Job”. God and the devil have a bet to see if they can make Job lose his faith. They kill his wife, children, flocks, crops, give him diseases, turn his friends against him… all for a bet ! Job doesn’t lose his faith and God gives him a new wife, children , etc. Shame about the others that were destroyed and the torment and torture Job was put through, but hey , God won the bet ! Cheers.

  18. Not read this thread. if it's not been said, which it probably has in one way or another. That book and all the other c@ntish books of the same nature, they've got a lot to answer for. War, murder, lies, suppression, pedo's, nonce's, genital mutilation (of both girls and boys), myths, mass human control, genocide, fraud, theft, abduction, famine, in fact most of the horrible things you can think of have been done in the name of a made up bull shite. If we as a world could do one thing that would benefit mankind, it would be to ban religion.

She reckoned he could stick his heaven unless he/ she/ it gave her some satisfactory answers. I go along with that.

  26. Exactly this, it makes no difference to me what anyone’s beliefs are but you can’t tell me something and not expect me to question it and if I ask for proof and you are unable to provide it, how can you then expect me to believe it, you should always question everything because if you just take the words of others as the truth we never move forward

  27. I have never understood that logic, if they aren't doing any harm, what's that supposed to mean? We have no evidence whatsoever of a god, the complexity of DNA isn't evidence of creation, classing life and other marvels as down to the work of a deity is ignorant and shortsighted. People can believe what they like, but if they can't handle any scrutiny then perhaps they aren't as convinced as they let on?

  28. People in general. Family was big into the church, dads still a Deacon mom goes every Sunday ect. Was basically forced to go in hope it would... whatever. Anyhow saw mor people in the church who'd go about being pricks to any and everyone because they could recit some verses and had a nice suit. Lord forbid you had a bit of a different view of the world them them. Would just go on an on on their high horses . You could tell they got off on it..all because they where religious and went to church. Seen it with Christian Muslims Jews , ect. I mean most of them honestly where shitty people.

  29. No need for anyone to worry, Gary Pallister has came up the perfect solution to get Man U back on track. All they need to do is sign Isak. He's far too good us anyway and needs to move to a big club, well that seems to be the opinion of everyone outside of Tyneside. It is not all bad news for us northern monkeys though. Pallister has suggested that we get Rashford in part-ex.

Like lee I’ve not read all this thread but this is my take on it firstly, when I was at school I took RE mainly to toss it off, but I used to enjoy asking questions that the teacher simply couldn’t answer, mainly about dinosaurs and how she knew her chosen god was listening to her, I prefer to follow the science as whatever god people decide to follow doesn’t cure cancer, science does for me, the science says the earth is around 4.5 billion years old, radio metric data has come up with this number with an estimate that life started around 3.5 billion year ago, life on earth has evol

The first incident all caught on camera was when an old chap was using the laundrette when a youth tried robbing him and grabbing a bag out of his hand . The second more serious incident at a park in Thurcroft was when a 72 year old chap asked a 34 year old man to pick some rubbish up he had chucked down the 34 year old then sett about him kicking him in the ribs and would have killed him if it wasn't for the brave intervention of a 14 year old lad who saw the incident. 38. Agree about Rashford. He's beome "a big time Charlie". Fergie would have got rid as soon as his attitude dropped. Agree about Mainoo. But he's not thriving under Amorim and has been pulled a few times. Time for him to adapt to the new manager. Can't Agree about Fernandes. We would be knackered without him. Not proper captain material, but a class player.

  39. @jukel123 Mainoo can't go. He is a quality player and they need to keep him. The bad eggs need to go, for me I called Rashford 2yrs ago while there was pgba and lingered etc. Rash needs to go. Garnacho, he is OK. I dont like his body language BUT he is copying his captain and role model Bruno......who is a waste of skin. Never been a captain while I've got a hole in my arse. If offered I would swap Garnacho and Fernandes for Brentfords Wissa and Mbuemo in a heart beat.

  40. I think Hojlund gets little or no service. He looks the part, lightning fast and composed on the ball. Nobody knows if he's any good at this level because he never sees the ball. He works hard but is continually starved of passes and crosses. Amorim needs to sort that out. Not much point in buying Gykores be cause his goal return will be no better without service

  41. There seems to be a push to limit or stop us keeping poultry. The Allotment Act after the war was to ban any restrictions on keeping rabbits and hens on allotments, to help with food supply, but many councils are trying to ignore the act. Some councils say no hens, others say maximum of six hens , no cockerels, no other poultry, ducks , geese, quail , etc. The government banned feeding kitchen scraps to your hens; strange; food that’s fit for you and your kids isn’t fit for your hens. Some nonsense about “cross contamination “. The latest attack has changed the law that said

Now in the many pit villages around here there’s only one still doing it and it’s dwindling, just a few old pit men and enthusiasts like me in attendance. £1 entrance , as much free tea, coffee and biscuits as you want and an hour or two great craic with old timers from a different era. Cheers.

He gave my pointer a slap earlier for taking a deer leg off him on the yard and is getting quite aggressive with the little dogs. He best wind his neck in at home or he'll be on his way.

  47. Funny start to life which taught me loads and probably instilled a desire to push hard which has remained a constant... I never wanted kids of mine to experience some of the things we did as kids.. The main thing is I'm with a woman I still like and enjoy spending time with after 24 years, I've 3 kids who all make me proud and are my biggest achievement... There's no doubt I've grafted too hard at times, long times spent away and taking risks always (just glad my Mrs understands my mind set and supports the risks).. I guess we've got our selves into a decent position and a decent standard
