  1. True story related to me yesterday a friend of a friend bought a puppy during lock down they live in London near camden paid 4 grand for a fluffy cute thing anyways they and there friends liked to take there dogs to the local coffee shops etc but unfortunately this fluffy pup became ill .anyways the owner took the dog to the vets to find out what was wrong with it only to be told they had bought a fox cub . Needless to say any attempt to contact the seller's was blocked on Facebook etc and they disappeared.

  2. Last night saw me venturing out with the HMR for some rabbits. This is the 1st time out with it since Stav kindly cleaned it for me and I zeroed it I have never really had much confidence in this rifle but last night I shot great with it with a lot of shots around the eighty to ninety yard mark. It was windy with gusts up to 20 mph and drizzly and a lot of the rabbits very shy. I saw a fox early on about 100 yds away sat looking at me but due to the poor sight pic and gusting wind I wasn't confident with the shot so let it go. The 1st rabbit I shot I left at a gate to pick up la

  3. Auld bitch got her weekly bought of ferreting today I've watched her all season getting steadily slower, got a lump on her side that I presume is as big on the inside as on the out, never the less she wants to go. The wind was strong and cold today which took it out her on the last fence line.Never a false mark in 14year, be a sad day when she's not with us. Anyway lads a nice wee bag of rabbits today, 1 dig rest bolt fine, lost a few and bitch nailed a few, fcuk Sturgeon lol, keep at it lads it's your "God given right" atb and thanks for looking ?

  4. When settlers headed to the Pacific Northwest, they were forced to improvise dwellings and start their lives from scratch. Finding the stumps of gigantic trees that had been felled by logging companies still rooted in the ground, they saw a great opportunity. Many of these huge stumps stood a full 10 feet high but were undesirable as lumber because they tended to swell down toward their base, making the wood grain uneven. For select stumps, the newly arrived farmers found other uses. A few of the largest were leveled off and fashioned into platforms where “stump dances” were hel

  5. I can understand you Irish lads being far more suspicious of the police than us brits and also having a deep seated hatred of them, but back in the day was it the plod in a uniform stood on the street that was the bigger risk or the traitor moving amongst you as one of your own that was causing the damage, as there are people on here I wouldn’t trust in a million years yet they are held in some regard on this site with people speaking openly and by pm without a second thought yet nicepix was open and honest about his life and work and hated for it while the real double headers still just walk

  8. Well 2 down , 2 to go . Had a very nice day on Friday at my local shoot that I’ve been helping on for over 25 years . Not as many birds as in previous years, but a good day none the less. The older I get and the more I shoot the less numbers mean . I can enjoy a 30 bird day as much as a 250 bird day if the company is good. However we did Two drives for 86 pheasant, then elevenses and then they got the clay traps out for a couple of simulated drives . And it was a laugh . Then on to a local barn / bar that has got a license for Fridays . They are a small brewery and I had a pin

Tbh greyman i hadnt a problem with him, even tho he hit me with snidey comments about my faith i could take, his true colours showed when the covid came about, that sealed the deal for me,now if anyone cares to ask again for example If the scottish lads are out rabbiting down the line an get caught, who side do you think nicepix would take? Its not even about him being a cop,i never mentioned it until he bacame mod an started acting like a cop again,it was his f****d up attitude toward the unjabbed that done it for me.

  17. Out again today . A famous Oxfordshire shoot that I have been loading on this season . They split us into two teams , one team shot three drives before lunch while the other beat , then we swapped. I copped the morning and had two very good drives . Unfortunately a stray dog got to the third drive before we did and emptied it . So as a consolation the head keeper said we could all stand on the last drive which was the duck . I had been shooting well on my previous days and was confident of showing the other loaders that they were in the presence of “ greatness “. Shall we just say that my shoo

  18. Vintage photos of the old-school lumberjacks who fell giant trees with axes, 1890-1935 Lumberjacks pose with a Douglas fir tree in Washington. 1899. Before the invention of motorized chainsaws and logging machinery, the hard work of felling trees was done by the lumberjacks using hand tools such as axes and saws. The work was difficult, dangerous, intermittent, low-paying, and involved living in primitive conditions. Lumberjacks worked in lumber camps and often lived a migratory life, following timber harvesting jobs as they opened. T

  19. Yeah,..Border Collies are fairly common,..but, they also come in various guises, some are obviously not suitable to produce sane and sensible running dog composites. Its all down to temperament? Mind you, Ive always prefered a nice rangy long backed worker, to the more chunky types of herder... In saying that,..the man who really wants and desires a pastoral based hybrid, isn't usually going for looks. No shortage of Sheepdogs,...but ya gotta choose wisely....?

  20. I believe the first melanistic bobcat lynx was caught on film recently, melanism is kind of reverse albino, found in most cat species, squirrels, rabbits and fox’s to name a few over here ??

  21. They are basically dog food or fox bait. Wish I had somewhere to sell them. Remember in the 90s I couldnt sell enough in the local Working Mens Clubs for £1 each , couldn't get enough. Used to come back from Scotland with a 100 or so after lamping , getting back home at dawn then skinning them all and be all sold at lunchtime.....couldn't be arsed with that now.

She sometimes goes into teacher mode though like she's guiding a load of teenagers out on Duke of Edinburgh trip!! Lol.. Quality morning though and pub dinner. Happy day's eh!! 32. One of the best one's i saw run a couple of times was a black rough coated bitch owned by a lad who was in the R.A.F and Plummer mentioned him in a few of his books only because he was one of the first to have a pup out of his Merle that could not hold a candle to the rough coated bitch as far as catching hare's went.

  38. I don't think they understand that a lot of shot animals escape to die a lingering death compared to next to none when hunting with dogs. A lot of prey animals get chased by predators on a daily basis so I don't think this stresses them out too much.
