Seen a lot of first cross non-ped whippet x greyhounds over the years, and owned a few line bred. Insanely fast and easily capable of taking daytime hare, downside is they break easily and most lack the stamina for more than a couple of decent runs. Upside is youll not get better for the exciting runs. Cheers.8 points

Taking a week off ferreting to give the dogs a break and time to recover from their niggling injuries, just can’t stop Fleet he even brings rabbits back to me while I’m fishing, such a good dog. Pup ( Chase) 12 weeks old is impressing with his attitude and smarts.7 points

For the Lads that par boil chip before deep frying found a good hack to stop them falling apart. I use Maris Piper spud and take your eyes of them for a minute and you have potato soup. If you put 2 table spoons of white vinegar in 2 pints of water you can boil them for 10 minute and they stay good. Chunky Chips with BBQ baby spare ribs. BBQ rump with my own new spuds and runners. I've been lucky enough to get these 2 borders, one bitch already entered and a young dog ready to start this season. Credit to the man who's done all the hard work over the past decade plus a hopefully gave me a foundation to carry on the breeding.3 points

My old dog had short black coat and I used to get asked if he was a greyhound from time to time and when I told them he was a lurcher the usual reply was that it didn’t look like a lurcher because they have long coats . One even told me he wasn’t because his mate bred pedigree lurchers and they don’t look like that3 points

It took you some time to come up with that one ! ? Northwoods was a proposal that was instantly vetoed by Kennedy. one of the high ups in the American government said it would be impossible to keep something like that a secret........but you believe the Americans faked six moon landings , and not one of the literally millions of people involved blew the whistle, and everyone involved has kept quiet all these years ! ? Cheers.3 points

Out with dugs this morning, Some auld boy: “Is it a whippet?” Me: ”nah” (Before I could tell him) Auld boy: “greyhound?” Me: “Naw…. She’s a lurcher” Auld boy: “aw right, aye”……. (15 second pause) Auld boy: “pure?” Me: ??…….. “Aye mate” Thought about waiting till he said “doesn’t look like a lurcher” and then educating him but sensible got the better of me so I climbed a fence and f****d off through a field.2 points

Horrendous item Brother,...seems more akin to something the Spanish Inquisition might have used, as opposed to a Mole Catching tool.? Great for a Trap collection,...but it is basically, a modern day recreation of the Victor Harpoon Trap,....a bit unnecessary really...?2 points

Got me into a fight and arrested when someone asked us if my brother's staffie was a staffie (was a perfect example of one) and I pipes up "no it's a rottweiler for f**ks sake" in a real sarcastic way ??2 points

Thats a great buy Ross but if it was me I would change them wooden catches for "Hasp and Staple's" mate. If one of the wooden catches dries out and drops the escape artist's will be gone. With Hasp and Staples you can put some locks on if needed. Cheers Arry2 points

Bargain price. There is a company on fb that make hutches and they look superb but 600-700 or more no way. My wood work is useless and the hutch I made out the back from pallets needs 15 people to move it2 points

I can only agree with what the chaps above have written Arry... I did know you had lost your son ..I remember you saying on a past thread about how you go to the spot you spread his ashes...if I remember right it was under a tree on a hill where you often went ferreting together...all the best TOMO2 points

There’s lots being forced on us mate, 22 Nordic looking birds kicking a football is the least of my worries. Least we didn’t have to put up with the puke inducing “our brave 3 lions” like we did last year or whenever with that f***ing pigmy Saka and the other two when they couldn’t take a f***ing penalty ! There’s all this diversity shite being forced on us all over the show mate, I’m quiet surprised you can’t take a bit of joy from our own doing well at something without having to have some Zulu shoe horned into the equation ? As I said, it worked for me anyway.2 points
