I put the shutters up this morning to let in some air and got back in bed. A few minutes later this little chap walked in through the patio door. Had a walk around the room then spent a few minutes taking in the view. last week there were two golden orioles feeding off a rowan bush just outside the window.24 points

Iv'e just bought a old horsebox lorry to convert into a camper/living truck as such,a 1985 Bedford TL and a good chance it's the newest lorry i have ever bought ,mind you full service history and only 25,000 miles on the clock it's as good a old lorry as your'll get without a full restore and i'm busting to get going on it and get back to me roots man ..15 points

interesting questions wilf....and I can tell you I ain't a clue to the answer ...like you say where do we draw the line.... could sugar be included in all that...we got by without it a good few hundred years ago ...now it's responsible for loads of health issues...this might be an extrem example of course6 points

Yes, it is a railway tool. It was used by platelayers when they used to tamp and level the track. It is all done by on track machines nowadays. The uneven track was initially detected using the human eye and sighting along a length of track, 2 metal flags were then clipped to the rail that needed adjustment. The ballast was dug out under the line to be adjusted and jacked up by hand. The curved pointy end was aimed under the sleeper to help support it and make a gap to hammer individual pieces of ballast under the sleeper to pack it to the required level. Either end of the tool could be used f6 points

What's happened to your libertarian principles mate? I'm not saying that as a jibe. You cannot believe in governments letting people get on with their lives and then start laying down exceptions. The vast majority of people would steer clear of hard drugs just as they do now. Legalisation would stop criminalising people. Trying to stop people drug taking is about as successful as prohibition was.5 points

Got sent some footage of a bullX taking a moose ??(it's a little mongrel really, jumped from a canoe onto the back of a moose swimming a lake, and latched on).5 points

Had a few old Bedford TK's in my time, horse boxes both petrol and derv, little tipper and a mint nick 7 1/2 t hiab , never had TL before but the same running gear as such. This ones a little 220 turbo and it's only a 6 ton lorry with a short wheel base, just big enough for my tribe and yet small enough to not have to drive a big lorry everywhere, plus i'm in to my vintage motors and i will be taking it to some shows and rallies so a few different time ahead for sure and can't wait to get going on it... I will get on that blog thing once i get it back home...5 points

Stopping folks driving/going on holiday because of recreational drug use, will see the country grind to a halt imo...may just be enough for folks to finally wake up and think f**k you...the government have a plan, the revenue it will bring is to much to just pass bye imo. I've watched drugs of allsorts f**k folks and families right up over the yrs... growing up,I would kick a football, and there would be smack needles discarded everywhere, friends, big brothers/uncles/aunties,folks I knew growing up,lots of them ain't here no more...I have found/seen enough bodies to last me a lifetime...4 points

I personally don’t think the “it stops crime” argument holds any water at all…… Bricklayers lay bricks Painters paint walls Criminals do crime Doing away with prohibition didn’t stop the mafia and legalising drugs won’t make all the county lines mobs go out and start earning an honest living, they just find something else howling to do.4 points

Our lovely home secretary Priti Patel has worked for both the tobacco and alcohol industries. However, she's suddenly decided to go hard on cannabis possession and is planning to stop british citizens from flying and driving if caught in possession 3 times. She's also planning to put electronic tags on offenders. Unbelievable hypocrisy. Personally I believe the authorities lost the war on drugs decades ago. The whole lot should be legalised for people over 18. Cops should be directing their attention to serious crime and not what people do in their own time.4 points

Question for you, "They" legalised tobbaco which contains 7000 chemicals of which 250 are known to be harmful, actually says on the packet "Smoking kills" (they are on about putting the warning on every single ciggie in Canada, not just the packet, every single stick as its so harmful to health), so why not crack or smack?Cannabis contains no chemicals, you can actually get a decent crop just using compost, it's 100% natural, where is the smack or crack tie-in?4 points

I have been cajoled into going camping tomorrow. Not proper camping. A mate as been fettling an old car and wants to give it a bit of a run and I'm the only person he knows daft enough to go with him as it will probably break down. I gave my camping gear away years ago (loaned out to nephews but never returned). So went off to Go Outdoors to buy a cheap tent and sleeping bag. I looked up when in the camping section and then I saw it, a terrible sight. THE CYCLING DEPARTMENT!. Sorry like but I hate cyclists. Not all of them, just most of them. The ones that I come across who try and run me4 points

Sunak is a big tax, big spending, big government chancellor, the complete opposite to what a Tory stands for. Truss was the LibDem president of the Oxford debating society, was an ardent republican who wanted to abolish the monarchy and campaigned to remain in the EU. Again, the complete opposite to what a Tory stands for. Now, it doesn't matter if you love, hate or are indifferent to the Torys, our next Prime Minister will be a lying, backstabbing, hypocrite ! A Tory in name only. And to save you replying, Wilf, yes, I know they are all the same ! ?? ! Cheers.3 points

That's a fair point. But we agree that the freedom for the majority is worth some casualties. Drink being an example, betting another. We all love cars but they come with heavy casualties. It's achieving the right balance and we are not doing that at the moment imo.3 points

There is no 1 leader among them currently. This country needs someone with some balls to make decisions like Winston or Maggie. All we have now is a group of dick heads more concerned about slandering their opposition than actual policies and improvement. I don't trust a single one of them. Said it before, there is no one in there connected with the working man. Labour is now led by a peadophile protecting "sir" who doesn't know what real life is for 90% of the democratic. .......then again I was in cooplands earlier behind a scruffy smack head who pulled out a wedge big enough to st3 points

I took on a 15 month rescue working type Collie Bitch. I could see great potential in her but she was crapping in the house every night and when I came in the room it was painful to see her trying to get under the settee 3 inches of the ground. I have been around dogs all my life and I was 72 at the time. I just patted her told her, good girl and let her into the back garden. She had been knocked about on a daily basis for this because it happened every morning and I reacted the same every time. Sometimes there was blood in it and it took me a month to work it out. She had a Wheat allergy. All3 points
