A few photos of my first pure whippet as he hits 16 weeks. Out with my collie X greyhound. Major departure for me as I've mostly had collie crosses.12 points

Are all coursing lads dreamers ? Or just the ones that frequent Internet forums? So how many runs would you expect to give a good coursing dog a season ? And how many you lot managing ? From what I can tell you’ve about a seven hour window to run them on one Tuesday In December.... if your Mrs lets you.10 points

Got up early and ventured out to a beech tree I call from periodically. It's a good mile from my door. Within five minutes of calling a good specimen of a dog fox appears down wind 35yds away!! That was a gift. The cz 455 is a swift rifle and I can't believe I haven't had to touch the trigger on this one!9 points

Very sad . I'm in the same boat as you Mr Sausage , my empire has shrunk a lot over the years . Me and a mate used to have so much land we were spoilt for choice but through one reason or another I have a lot less now but enough to keep me occupied. Speaking of rabbits , I ventured out last night in search of rabbits . This farm is very remote and usually holds loads of rabbits but last night there wasn't as many as expected but then again it is a lean time of year ....January. I was speaking to the farmer who was hit hard by Storm Arwen , losing his power and broadband for 10 days .6 points

Never had a fight over food, what about kennel space, dominace, jealousy or any other factor that may arise, one hard snap or bite, grip or shake what one will be the loser? Certainly not the dominant Akita in its own domain, I hope I am totally wrong but I certainly wouldn't be putting the pup or young dog in the position where it could be seriously mauled or even killed but then again I don't seem to have your skill set ?5 points

?I reckon you can definitely overmatch a dog,. .regardless of what discipline it is engaged in...? Physicality, is the same, whatever the activity... Never actually seen, or owned a running dog, with the infamous 'damaged diaphragm' But, I reckon certain types would literally run themselves to a standstill, when pursuing their quarry,.. this has to have some repercussions along the line. Hard thing to prevent though? The best of the best are simply going to go for it regardless of consequence,.. end of story really.. However, I do believe you can mentally ruin a5 points

I can’t see the problem some people seem to loose all thier brain cells when it comes to floods.near me it floods bad.: Ok let’s approach said flood,oh look lots of people with cameras etc out, and look lots of cars with the bonnets up with recovery trucks and men looking under the bonnets, and look theirs a car with water coming out when he opened the door:!!!! Right let’s take a run up and force water right in my engine after all I’m sure the salesmen said these fiestas are amphibious vehicles too. Ffs I know sympathy for any of them4 points

Day number 7 and I wasn’t expecting a big day. When we arrived it was a lovely bright and cold day, nothing like last week, not having massive amounts of birds left we mixed it up a bit today, doing drives in different orders and doing a couple we wouldn’t normally do. First drive was the standard Gordon’s pen, as with every drive of the day there was not loads of birds but there was still some good birds and a bit of shooting, drive number 2 was the ruff patch next to Gordon’s pen that we use to hold the birds early in the season, this took a bit of time to get going but for the lads in the f4 points

I've found leverets on the beating line more than once the last few years and you'd do fecking well to find a hare out on it's own any month of the year in south Norfolk as they been breeding all year round for years this way now...3 points
