Last nights job was a hen killer. Arrived at my mates place before dark and headed off to his mates parents smallholding which consists of 4 paddocks to recce the job. I decided the best spot was on top of a barn which gave a good field of view and provided safety. The landowner provided some ladders and up we climbed. Started the caller with hare distress and 15 mins later a fox showed up ? it was cautious but eventually presented a shot which my mate took , the fox was a runner but expired after a 30 yard dash. It turned out to be a dog cub which had a canine missing and also a rotten molar7 points

Pop goes the weasel, keep getting them, saw a stoat last week as well. It nipped into the undergrowth. I was up in Sheffield today, plenty of squirrels in the botanical gardens. You wouldn’t need a gun, I could’ve taken 30 of the little blighters with a cricket bat?4 points

Suicide is the most common cause of death for men under 50 The latest UK suicide figures show that on average just under 6,000 people take their own lives every year. Three-quarters of them are men. Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50. You can quote the statistics about suicide, but it is hard to convey the devastation with just numbers. A suicide is like a rock thrown into the water with the ripples spreading outwards, covering family, friends, soaking work colleagues, acquaintances, the wider community. Why so many men? Again, the research, including3 points

Here are some Chanterelles I find they vary in colour the one we find in hedges and on banks covered in bushes by the river are a buff yellow like the ones you see on sale. Then a brighter one up in the woods on the side of the moors. The one thing is they must cut white they also do not have true gills more like wrinkles. There is a false Chanterelle that I find from time to time usually growing on old wood ant mounds but it does not cut white and it has proper gills. The duller creamy one. The brighter one we find in the wood on the side of the moors. The should al3 points

You have to work together as a team when you got kids,as they grow it gets easier, you can take them with you within reason.Im ok with 3/4 hrs sleep a night, always been the same, you just have to choose what's important to you I guess...if you work for yourself, then you have more freedom, it's alot easier than being on the books...?3 points

Listening and reading these posts , shows how far into a policed state we have gone, fcuk giving the peelers any info, they work for us remember, not us working for them. And never trust the plod as theyve set up people on more than one million occasions, theyre rats.3 points

Hard to juggle everything. I think you got to take a hit financially if you want to get out in the week. Hard when the kids are young but once they get older you can take em with you.3 points
-
No. ? Obviously it depends what you prioritise, I'd say have kids close together and accept life is over...I'm kidding obviously but.. I'm working and generally away, paying dog walkers, any free time is with my boys , dogs have been neglected, anything I can involve the kids with I do but whilst they're young it's limited, and it's not like I can fish while a five and seven yr old are getting tangled or trying disgorge a hook lol. I'd mostly stick to summer fishing while the kids are just starting. We go for dog walks that might involve the odd squirrel or rabbit run. The missus will take the3 points

Coons will mix it up.If the coon has the upper hand he will continue to mix.If the coon begins to lose he will try to bolt by swimming or climbing. As far as venomous snake bites on dogs. When I was a teenager I had a terrier to get bit twice by a copperhead while trying to kill it.We called our vet.He said to give the terrier antihistamine (benadryl) and he would be better in 4 or 5 days. For 3 days this terrier laid on the back porch. His head look like a balloon full of water. But the vet was right by day 5 the terrier was up and playing. I wear snake proof chaps everytime I go wit3 points

Stavs good example about giving stuff away got me thinking. I've got two snap caps. One is 20g, the other is 12g. Anyone want them? Excluding international post I'll pay, even to Wales! You can have the cartridges but due to postage restrictions I'll have to fire them first?2 points

Life can be pretty busy especially when you’ve got dogs , and given them enough work , how do lads manage there time when got other hobbies and different types of hunting . I go out mostly day time on weekends and early season straight after work and when clocks change I try to get a day off in the week to get out and do small bit of lamping , how do you balance work , kids , lamping , digging , hounds , ferreting , fishing? Can you really do it all?2 points
