  2. I can’t talk in a way that will not open a can of worms . I can’t pretend that I was all call of duty black ops , kicking doors and taking names . but I can tell you some truths im a combat engineer , I served in 16 air assault brigade for 14 years . I was once part of a brotherhood and I turned away from it 2 years ago to serve my family and myself better. ive spoken before about leadership , about belonging , influence and the effect people can have on your life every once in a while . there’s been probably 5 people , in the military who have shaped and formed me into

  5. There’s blokes on here who can speak with genuine authority on the subject, I’m not one of them. I can only offer my view, to me 1 British soldiers life was never worth the lives of every rag head in the Hindu Kush……however, I don’t think you can think about it in terms of “worth it”……it’s an insult to lads that were there. I look at it like this, these lads are by and large the very best of us, they are professional blokes who have a very specific job, they get tasked with that job and they go and do it for their mates and their honour…..they ain’t letting anyone down. Thats al

  7. I posted last week asking about less obvious alternatives for a traditional lamp and after having given it a night out, I thought to share what I ended up buying. Crazy impressed with this thing, the power is nuts and I dont feel quite so obvious having a cheeky shine in places I usually wouldn't bother. Especially helpful when I'm staying in the suburbs at the missus'. Second photo is with me sat full length of a football field away. Doesnt do the throw justice but gives ya a decent idea. Fun few hours.

  8. We are easy pickings for Islam for the very reason that we try and apply our western kindness and sense of reason to our dealings with them……as a group, these people harbour no such weakness (or virtue depending on how you see it) These people find us disgusting, bottom line, if they could wipe us out and make the whole world Islamic they would…..without a second thought ! Our virtues and our morality won’t count for shit in that scenario…….trying to be their friend is a ridiculous exercise in futility !

  9. My son done two tours Bastion then seven months in Kandahar the hatred he has for that shit hole is unreal when he left straight after the 2nd tour for 2/3 years he was a mess he’s still in close contact with the guys he served and almost died with but glad to say he’s started up a fire accessing business and is doing well now he’s got something to focus on. Nothing good will ever come of that place you’ve only got to look at history to tell you sending troops there never seems to work. Massive respect to the lads on here who have served there as a family who have had an insight into

  11. Afghanistan is a lost cause and always will be unless a full military presence is in place forever and no government especially ours can afford that. That may change if a rare mineral or oil is found other than that it’s not going to happen. the most intense fighting I encountered in my career was in Iraq and Afghanistan but by far the worst atrocities I witnessed that stay with you forever was in Kosovo due to the ethnic cleansing that was being carried out in the small villages. the greatest horror writers couldn’t stretch their minds to some of the vilest sick acts that were carried o

  13. As they were saying on the news. SGC holders in Britain have been around half a million since the last mass shooting in 2010. Half a million people with legally held shotguns and none of them went on the rampage in eleven years, so the system can’t be too far wrong. Things like this will always happen from time to time no matter what laws are in place.

  15. Well yesterday i spent the day on the grouse moor with my eleven year old grandson. The keeper had told me a couple of days before that he was a bit short on beaters, so i said i would bring my grandson. When i asked if he wanted to go he jumped at the chance. I didn't tell him what it involved. He did really well, beating every drive on rough ground. When we finished, we all met up back at the farmhouse from where we had set off. Cups of tea and fruit juices where the order of the day and the keeper went round paying people. I hadn't mentioned to my grandson that you got paid for it to see if

You don’t owe me a thing pal , there was plenty of good yank lads over there digging out blind daily, a good lad I stay in touch with in the usmc got purple hearted out and medically discharged . He was 22 years old at the time and in his 3rd deployment. he’s now a law man in a small town in North Carolina . Earning his way in the world . plenty good guys like that .

I understand that I share nothing in common with a Muslim from a Muslim community over and above the sum of our parts I understand that if a group declares war on your whole culture you should wipe them out whenever they stray into your field of vision I understand that Cologne or Paris or London had nothing in common with Mogadishu, Soweto or Tim Buk Tu ! Those few things, I understand.

  20. I think in its simplest form mate it comes down to this, they were given an ultimatum to give up Bin Laden and his sympathisers and they chose not to…..so we rinsed the gaff. I genuinely couldn’t care less if we had wiped every single Afghan off the face of the earth and then moved on and did the same to Pakistan and any other bunch of dirty animals that harboured us ill will. What grates me is that blokes die and we kiss these peoples arse on home soil !……we have no business with these people and they have no business with us and the sooner we understand that undeniable fact the bet

  23. Oman, Cyprus, Northern Ireland and Afghanistan all demonstrate that you cannot fight a guerilla war whilst being bound by the Geneva Convention. When the enemy has no rules or morales, how can you expect your own army to accept that they could be hauled up in court 20 or more years later? Something has to give.

  24. Soldiers do their job, when they are on the ground they are very, very good indeed……what happens after is totally in the hands of politicians and the people who elect them. If you start talking in terms of “worth it” then we would all be saying WW2 wasn’t worth it. The only people that ultimately let soldiers down are us…..they never let us down.

  25. Places like Afghanistan and Iraq are always going to pose difficult issues for the west. Can anyone watch videos of the villages that saddam gassed, see photos of children lying dead where they played in the streets and simply turn a blind eye. Unfortunately we removed one dictator and it causes decades of power struggles between other factions. Africa is the same. I cant remember if it was middle east or Africa where a charity built a new water pump and the various tribes of the town spent years killing each other over the new power over the water supply. The only real answer is totally

He tried the old favourite of "You have all read the book ( Watership Down),.. you have seen the Film,...now try the stew!" Fecking silly move in my opinion..? The sight of the furry cast all hanging upside down in his shop window, and on route to the Junior School....caused a right royal rumpus.. I did warn him?

Talking of fishing, the father in law had his rod out and dropped onto some Mackerel off the jetty here.. only a minute walk from the cottage.. he was well chuffed with that and my eldest couldn't wait to get a couple ready for the oven!! I went for a poke about up some hills yesterday and with the bins i could make out the father in law with both my daughters on the jetty after yet more Mackerel. To be honest they've really to

There were stories from all sides which matched up, ultimately if you let folk do what they like some will do some pretty dark stuff, humans have infinite capacity for it. I spoke a lot to people of all sides, and have friends or rather acquaintances in all camps, folk who served there, the Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats. Sadly I don’t think we can deny some absolute horrors were carried out and I don’t really think they are justifiable. There is a book you should read I think you’d find it really int

Can't add to much to this except a couple of months ago I for one reason or another fasted for three days, at the time I'd been having quite a lot of health problems and post fast I ate healthy and cut as much sugar as possible. I now have no health problems the liver enzymes I'd been getting higher and higher readings of for years started dropping and I feel a million times better.

I believe we did . we went there to drag those c**ts into the light of day and succeeded in doing so . the fact that the rise of the taliban can be seen as the true face of Islam as those wielding Kalashnikovs now will be the school kids that we waved at and played football with in the mid to late 2000s should have a nerve with anyone who says immigration is good for a country . they stood and smiled and took the money to rebuild and were happy to pick up the arms again under the black flag of isis once it suited them . You can’t change these people . And we should st

Governments dont care about there soldiers,I'm sorry to say it but the army are just pawns used an ABUSED by there masters to make them even more wealthy an fight proxy wars against there foes. An when they leave, most have to defend for themselves, dropped like a bag of shite. Brave people who put it all on the line to be used an abused.

Best off with just a normal lead with clip on then you can use it as a normal lead or use it as a slip by holding the clip end and threading other end threw collar, old bill can take a proper slip lead or even a length of strapping off you and use it as evidence, that’s just what someone told me and definitely not from experience
