  1. With all this hot weather I decided to treat myself to one of those lazy spa things to lounge about in keeping cool. I was sat in it the other day with the bubbles going having a nice cold Henry westons cider when something caught the corner of my eye. A fukcing rat running back and fore to my chicken feeder helping himself to the food. 5 minuets later I’m sat back in my jacuzzi thing bollocks naked with my cider shooting rats … fukcing heaven ?

  2. I was down the lake again yesterday and decided to go back to basics for the overnighter so I set up the polish Lavvu for me and the pup to sleep in and did a nice bacon egg and mushroom mixed together sort of thing for breakfast ?

  5. For one reason or another I've not been able to get out on anything I've cut until last night. Was raining but I was desperate to get out for a bit! Got there & first thing found lamb with head stuck between two rows of fencing!! ? thick as pig poo!! Free him & onto field of week old hay cut. Just through gate, not even set up & spot one head down grubbing about. Now I'm trying to get set as quietly as possible, don't bother with tripod as think it might spook, so get on one knee and take it freehand (first time I've noticed weight of varmint barrel!!) 147yds clean thud drop

  8. Good advice fellah? I always get young lurcher out and about,.. as soon as possible... Once the dog hits puberty and the real prey drive kicks in, it can sometimes be an emotional old carry on Some dogs are just born sensible and laid back, whilst others cannot differentiate, twixt what is a legitimate quarry, and what is none of their business. Most problems can be cured with various devious, ways and means, ..but it makes for an easier life if you can keep everything, real chilled.... I've walked out with a lot of fellow enthusiasts, and to be honest, some of them,

  9. The girls both got shining reports so their nan got them a little kit each to observe sealife. No school tomorrow so we drove 5 mins up the road onto the tamar armed with a few dropnets and some scabby mackerel. Its abit more urban than I'd have liked but we managed prawns, pollock, goby, crabs, welks and the celebration pic is because O had a hermit crab in her net. I obviously cast a line out and quickly remembered why I don't fish the shithole; I caught a wet wipe and a line snag.

  13. I’ve been too busy this morning to do any posts . So I’m sat in a high seat overlooking the big pen while I have a bit of a break . Having shot that cub the other night on the cut barley got me thinking where there is one there is usually another sat out again at dusk but this time further along the field and nearer to where it appeared. There is a couple who have bought a very large property nearby who bought a section of woodland and have planted stuff that butterflies like and call it the butterfly wood . It’s basically now a very dense unmanaged impenetrable clump of vegetatio

  14. First Olympics that I can't really raise any interest in. Theyve allways been about money and politics and it's getting worse. The Japanese people were against holding them but money talks. Now the "mental health " nonsense has started; the American girl dropping her team mates in it, the jap tennis player blaming the "pressure" on losing, just waiting for that yank bint in the weigh lifting that hates her own country. Of course there's pressure when you are trying to be the best in the world, it comes with the job....and if you hate your country, it's anthem and its flag,

  16. Probably the most famous race in Olympic history ive been told stories about that race many times over the years the main one being that all 8 competitors tested positive but the organisers knew it would be far too much scandal to declare they all failed so decided one had to carry the can....just make sure he,s not American ! I always felt a bit for Ben Johnson, dont think he was the brightest of fella's and seemed to be the chosen scapegoat.

  20. I must have been lucky over the years that Ive never had a problem with stockbreaking with any of mine from terriers/Lurchers/spaniels/pitbulls and bandogs.I do start stockbreaking at 8weeks and keep on them everyday if possible untill I know they're bombproof.Saying that I introduced my present bandog to chickens at my pals a few months ago and a stearn "you F**king leave em" was enough that within 10minutes she was mooching round his paddock with chickens pecking round her whilst we were building his new stables. She goes out hacking a few days a week after meeting horses for the first time a

  21. Legalise steroids as well, I don't want it to be a competition of who's using the best masking agent. I want to see superhuman heroics, sprinters faster than a saluki in the slop, long jumpers jumping the equivalent of a flea and women athletes resembling male competitors like Fatima Whitbread.

  23. ???? I’m about to lose my sh*t up at the shoot, back up tonight on the cut barley again, this time with the NV set up, got there just after 9, people walking the edge of the field from the campsite, now I’m ok with this, I’ll tell them where they can be and off they’ll go, got set up and we had just lost the light and there’s 2 girls walking in the middle of the field, though I’d just let them walk on until they started walking towards where the caller was, now I didn’t want to shout at them in the dark and frighten them so I thought I’d put the torch on so they could see we were there, big mi

  25. I was lucky with my older lurcher and busher. Couple of times on a long lead and they were done. This young bitch I have was testing me at one point. Thought I had it nailed but at about 9 months she started chasing again. Long lead, off lead walking through them daily. I like my Lurchers to range on the hill so stock breaking is a must. At some point I had to trust her as I don’t want to be calling them back all the time. I think the penny really drops with them once they know that there’s other stuff out there for them to chase other than the sheep. Keep going with it. Keep calm and I’m sure

But, if you drive from there towards Malton and Pickering to Whitby, or take the lesser known roads via Castle Howard and Rosedale you'll some of the most beautiful moorland scenery in the UK. Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes are worth visiting.

  37. Personally,..and I could well be wrong?...I like to have a lurcher pup out with me, at the earliest possible age? A lurchers 'lot in life' is frequently a difficult and hazardous adventure,...some make the cut, whilst others do not... Its a great feeling, to look back and see a young tyke following on as best as he can, clamouring over obstacles, and dragging himself through mud -filled ditches . These early walks out, are critical for a working dog's education.... I always try to introduce one new experience on every occasion, ..it is imperative to try and create a working

Watched the women’s triathlon last night where Britain’s Georgie Taylor brown had a puncture on her bike in the last lap and fell way off the leading pack to come back on the run to get a silver. Pure guts and determination from her and would have more than likely been a gold without the puncture.
