  2. 'Protect the NHS' They've used this all through Covid and, this morning on the radio they used it again while talking about possibly taxing fizzy drinks and sweets. ........ being cynical, they know a lot of the British public will have an emotional response to anything concerning the NHS so, this looks like their new trigger to gain a buy in - to be used whenever they see an opportunity. If you ask me, they'd be better off protecting the NHS by stamping down on health tourism, chasing the money that other countries owe for us treating their citizens and, divert

  3. ? It just goes to show you that if you are out of the loop, kinda thing, then topic such as prices for running dogs, are a bit of a mystery..? Locally , we have always had quite a plethora of whippets, both Hard Blood, Non-Peds, and KC Registered Pedigree Whippets. Several rabbiting/mouching lads that I know, have gone over to these diminutive speedsters, and they all seem quite pleased with them... ? Times are 'a changing, in the Field sports world,..and many enthusiasts are enjoying the rabbit as their main quarry... Obviously, the working whippet takes to the Coney catch

  9. To be fair I see a lot more of folk complaining about that, and the fact that it’s “all a load of bollocks” that folk gift pups, about having to be in the clik, etc etc ...... than I actually see it going on ? Some folk get a right strop on about it ? Everyone is a bit different, it’s a hobby, like lots of others ..... some folk play golf for a hobby..... for some of those that’s three or four times a year with mates for a bit of fun. And for others it’s three times a week, some kind of weird virtual simulator at home, and driving the length of the country to smack a ball about with a st

  13. Hypothetical, yes, but if I was only allowed to have one dog, it would have to be one that I could watch putting up a good performance on a daytime hare or roe. The enjoyment beats the long nights, the soakings, the freezings, the heavy loads, these days ! ? ! Cheers.

  15. It’s total bollocks, anyone with half a brain knows that the business model of the NHS is completely unsustainable. And because it’s all “free” money they can dream up any type of shit to spend it on…..like sex changes and helping people who identify as a parrot seek counselling. Its a bottomless f***ing pit.

  17. The rest of the birds arrived today. The game farmer held on to them for me so that they can be released in decent weather. They should have gone to wood 10 days ago so they were a little bit scruffier than he would have liked but I would rather that than release them to wood in the pissing down rain . All good so far . I’m sleeping in the truck next to the pen for the next couple of nights . If Charlie shows up he is in for a surprise.??

  28. I've really enjoyed the stamp of some of the dogs on here, some lovely crosses, this is my mad mongrel Celt he's not strictly a bushing dog in the traditional sense, but he's a good rough shooting companion. This year was meant to be his first wildfowling season, sadly Covid has limited this. He's a Labrador crossed with a New Zealand Huntaway.

  42. John's achievements in both his personal and professional life were considerable and he was very well respected within the legal profession. Yet first and foremost he was always a terrier man both at heart and in practice. He was a true “Son of The North”. John did honourable service as a member of the Fell & Moorland W.T.C. and then went on along with others, to form the well respected and highly successful Durham & Northumberland W.T.C. He and his late wife Esme formed the backbone of that Club in an area where fools are not suffered gladly. He was a lifelong terrier enthusiast
