  2. ? Taken a lot of rabbits over the last 60 years with various working dogs,....but, under the spotlight,..I would think that 78 with my Sadie , back in the 1980's would be the most that I've grassed in a night. Now I know that lads have bagged up , on the Dales and similar rabbit laden areas, but back then, such Elysian Fields were unknown to me. We were poaching in West Sussex, mostly on stubble, and it was strictly a case of lamp on, lamp off, and keep on moving..? You could not get yourself or the dog into any kind of rhythm, it was all in and out , guerrilla tactics,.hardly conduc

  5. ?Yep,..the Beddy influence was extremely strong; I found it created an incredibly determined prey drive in a lurcher. Our dog Solo, was deadly on the Roe,...once he was locked on to their vapour trail, they were pretty soon grassed. He done plenty of two's and three's, and i reckon that he would have amassed quite a tally, if he had not busted his silly neck on a tree stump...? Great type for them old times....?

  9. Enough to keep a man interested an content not enough to boast about. don’t catch no were near as many these days as there not there in numbers to catch but to be honest I don’t supply a butcher or game dealer ive no army of dogs or ferrets to feed I’m to lazy to process them these days so a couple is plenty to keep me going till the next outing 2-7 rabbits is the number of rabbits now from a lamp trip 2-3 times a week

  18. In the middle of watching this on YouTube at the moment. Very interesting series about attempts to save New Zealand's wildlife from extinction. I stuck it up here because I know you lads will find it interesting, and there is some aspects of trapping involved. Watch on a big screen if possible?

  20. For me this little dog at the front has to be one of the best rabbit dogs I’ve seen work.. not my dog but had pleasure of working him.. he was a deerhound/greyhound x collie/greyhound 24inches tall he had that do or die attitude about him still amazes me how he caught on the places and land he did not just rabbits either a real dog worth shouting about

  22. Just happened to come upon this lad today. Been ages since I've seen one. Out in the middle of the day, beside a busy road. Myself and the daughter picked him up and brought him far side of the road, where there's an overgrown garden, and left it off there.

  26. My 3/4 grey 1/8 beardie 1/8th border was a smashing rabbit dog fastest dog ive ever owned took alot of hares to and the occasional fox but wouldn't have cut it doing heavy amounts of fox.but would work during day with the ferrets then go lampin and probley lamp 5 nights a week in season sometimes more so if I was to get another rabbit dog wouldn't look much further than that solid dog never laid up speed stamia brains easy to train but I am biased to my collie crosses

  27. But that could happen if you put 2 of the same types together...nothings guaranteed when your breeding dogs mate...but if you know the line well enough, then you will notice the traits you desire or don't want and cull appropriately...there can be no time for sentiment if your serious...?

  35. Excuse my ignorance of only reading the first and last pages but it does crack me up when you see people ( and this isnt directed at anybody on here ) who obediently do everything the government tell them to when it comes to paying their taxes or passively accepting forced multiculturalism.... yet when it comes to walking into a shop with a bit of cloth on their face they become all tough and rebellious ?
