Are you line bred too Poxon or bambagasgon off Uni Challenge ? ? Bit long winded but I think I got the point mate ??5 points

Good post. I think one of the issues is, depending upon what you’ve seen etc depends on what you judge as a good dog. Yes it does only need to please you to a point but usually Lurchers have fairly big litters and you have to home the rest of the pups, and hope they have a good home. Real good stock is easier to home and more likely (you’d hope) to stay in a home, than average stock. A lot of folk let sentiment get in the way, they love their dog and want a pup from it, but really they could save the hassle and save ending up with the rest of the litter, and just buy a pip in. With regard5 points

Thanks to Ken it could be sorted... I'm still gutted there are no birches in that litter... I keep looking at that video mate and thinking...should I? Lol Top man and what this game is all about...5 points

Well my time and effort paid off tonight, was walking over a barley field and a hare jumped out from under a bold hollow tree stump half a yard in front of the dog, I shouted leave it and she stopped and sat down and watched it run away, right down the field under a gate and over the road, could easily have had a dead dog.4 points

They are expensive but I do a lot of mole trapping and up on the fell the gates are very narrow, I want a light 4wd that won’t rip the fields up, well big enough for me. They will go anywhere anything else will. I also do a lot of fishing and ferreting, will be a godsend for me, I have a Octavia scout car, brilliant motor , been using it for trapping when it has been dry, I won’t part with my car but will get the Jimny and put some good tyres on. You are only here once, I have the coin for it, I work bloody hard, 46 hours a week at work and trapping 3 or 4 hours everyday and weekends, I am tre4 points

I remember this guy....he used to phone me sometimes.... As an aside,...there is possibly no easier hybrid to produce than a Whippet, (KC or Hard-Blood) put over a Greyhound....Ive seen big heavyweight, 'Scratch Dogs' muller all sorts of critters,..it ain't unexpected,...it is, what it is..?4 points

Got to laugh...pulling up threads from 10 yrs back ...in the hope some mug blows some smoke up his arse? If he was the real deal...then he wouldn't of had a 10 yr break... dogs are a way of life for true dogmen.you don't stop just because of a ban,no amount of personal strife , starting a family etc..once your in,you ain't getting out??4 points
-
Never heard of the guy or his breed, but nowt wrong with grews ! They'll take a hare or roe, exciting to watch , but break a lot easier than a purpose bred lurcher. Usually lack stamina , but fine if you want a quick course, on and off the field before it comes on top. Cheers.3 points

And what a pile of dross it was.. line breeding from top drawer stuff... Not throw 2 workers together..ok you might get a pup or 2 that will be ok..you want the best you breed from the best, a long line of lurchers that's been proven and that produce there Ilk and are related...3 points

The best thing about this post is it’s reminded me of some of the folk who were on here ten plus years ago. There were some great folk and some great dogs and some great posts.3 points

After losing my pouch with 3 mags in a couple of weeks ago, I have been thinking about a change of gun, not to replace my Impact but to run alongside for different jobs as I am not wildly happy with my .177 hw 110k, nothing wrong with the gun but I preferred my old .22 110k. Anyway, after some searching for an FX Verminator in .22 fac but the only one I could find was a Mk1 and a few years old at that, so time to think again. I went to the rfd today and decided that whilst I like the 110k with the black rubberised beech stock, I just fancied a change so here we go a 110k laminate. A quic2 points

theres a three quarter whippet greyhound bitch I bread myself out of my whippet bitch to a whippet greyhound Dog that picture was took 1990 these we Dogs are Deadly at the hunting game ferreting lamping2 points

Listen boys by far whippet x greyhounds longdogs are far from so called world beaters or ultimates because id be lying. OBVIOUSLY those individuals who bad mouth me and the breeding of the true to type ain't ever seen a genuinely bred wham bang merchant producing the thrills and spills in the hunting field2 points

I’m on the fence with this mate......take mink for example.....apparently a lot of them around but how may times have YOU seen them dead on the road....in the grand scheme of things I don’t see that many dead foxes as a result of rta .....if there is a small population just maybe.......just maybe.....2 points

Fair do's. The emblem of the SS-Totenkopfverbände on a Black crucifix would hardly catch Anyone's eye, would it? ?2 points

No, the fella that works with the team cutting back the trees etc along the A361 has found all-sorts, polecats, otters, mink, etc in various states of decay and of course domestic cats a plenty but never any other type of cat and that runs right across north Devon on moors, pasture and woodlands, lots of deer, mainly red and Roe plus occasional fallow even the odd Muntjack. The fellas that are responsible for picking up bodies in the local town, surrounding villages and local roads, if they are a nuisance, haven't had any either. Although this is a small part of the country it supposedly has a2 points

I'm an out doors person through and through but I couldn't settle in the Highlands, it's fcking grim, fck all to do. Unless you have access to a big estate. No decent course fishing, no hunting, fck all. Not even decent walking unless you like mountains or conifer plantations. No fck that....it doesn't compare to the west country2 points

It’s true or any type of animal, and is something I find it odd that people don’t get, as I come at it from a farming perspective. With sheep and cattle we do a lot of performance recording and linking between sire and dam and offspring, and most traits are massively inheritable obviously, with relatively quick gains to be made. Stuff like lameness, litter size, growth rates, maternal ability, muscle depth, back fat etc etc are all measured and when you find a line which carry’s positive traits for one or more of those you breed toward it, while keeping an eye on what your losing out on.2 points

Remember the name Bowline back in the day and the cross was popular back in the day around these parts of South Yorkshire and it's a cross with no litter wastage as all offspring will be capable of catching rabbits in short distances unlike some first x collie/greys i have seen.2 points

Sausage dog is missed. I sincerely hope he makes a reappearance when he is ready . His knowledge of weird and wonderful firearms and posts were always interesting. Not to mention the pyjamas.?2 points

I never use a single-piece mount on any of my air rifles. Certainly not my PCPs. A two-piece mount set allows you to position the scope perfectly for eye-relief and better weight distribution over the rifle with more freedom of positioning movement than any single piece I've used in the past. Just my view of these. Simon/Pianoman.2 points
