as I said i have a rifle,a 223,im not against anyone shooting ,but theres guys on FB that put photos up of 6 ,8 even 10 foxes shot in a night ,with the f***ing finger up (jesus i hate that pointless gesture) and they continue to shoot through the whole year in the name of pest control,i understand that some have to do it for the right reasons ,but others just get a hard on showing off...i am thinking then how many litters are left to die starving in a den cause the vixen was shot ...i start thinking i sound like an anti but it does make me shiver a bit to see at the end of the year blokes wit11 points

About 7 or 8 years ago I made a repeat breeding. There was a severely undershot bitch pup who was no bigger than a grasshopper.By 4 weeks of age her litter mates were all using her as a chew toy as she was still mouse size.I put the little pup on another bitch with a younger litter. The little pup was still runty.I tried to gift her to a few friends who dig groundhog and need small ones. They didn't want this ugly undershot runt.So I kept her thinking I could use her for groundhog or muskrat. She grew up to about 13 lbs when fat.I entered her to coon and she did well.Within a few seasons I quickly10 points

Aye, can be soul destroying in the early years of a loan. If you can afford to, think it’s a good idea to overpay your mortgage, even if it’s only a relatively small amount. Eats into the capital borrowed and makes a difference on the annual statement.8 points
-
I got my mortgage when the interest rates were as high as 15%. Then when the rates started dropping, the bank would ask me if I wanted to reduce my monthly payments, but I would say "no, take it off the capital " and I would pay off the odd £1,000 every now and again. I had made sure when I took the loan that there would be no early repayment penalties. My mortgage was paid off years early, but the banks hate that ! Cheers.7 points

Understandably he's being secretive with any details,I was saying it must be from the same line surely, and if it is the same lad that shot the other 2whites will be delighted to shoot every one he can find, typical idiot with a rifle, posts photos of everything he kills,I hope this one gets a chance to reproduce,7 points

I think it's an issue with the entire shooting world...they are shooters not sportsmen. The shooting world went all out to attract new blood, the idea being that the more people who went shooting the safer it would be. Now instead of directing these new people into beating, ferreting, wildfowling and natural history they simple got a gun and were shown to a peg. Obviously many decent active lads wanted to play a bigger part in this exciting new world they were in....and getting a rifle and getting into fox shooting was the next step. They have the money for both shooting permission and new kit5 points

I have no time for dicks like that I remember digging a almost black vixen with a border bitch I just picked up I let her run run free the lad that owned the line gave me her after seeing that a true gent and country man I wouldn't shoot or cull a white or black fox even if offered the chance it just isn't in me5 points

This blade is made from motorbike chain hand forged on to a leaf spring core. I have experimented a few times with chain Damascus but this is the cleanest weld yet, not perfect but it has character. Very hard to eliminate all the voids in the chain beating it by hand...even though i spent probably half a day hammering away on it.... I will make a press one day. I had a smaller knife in mind when i started out but wanted to maximize the lump of rough forged "Damascus" I ended up with so it determined the size & shape of the final blank. The blade is 7.5 inches and handle approx 44 points

Now this is worth a read. Good bit of journalism tbh Countdown to 'catastrophe:' Inside Europe's fight for COVID shots | Reuters WWW.REUTERS.COM In a meeting last week in the Europa building in Brussels, home of the European Union's political leadership, diplomats for the 27 member states were desperate.3 points

Why would you want to get the population up. Its a genetic mutant. I don't know about white ones (that one looked fit and healthy) but black ones are often sick weedly specimens. Before you know it the whole area would be full of Chris packham types with cameras desperate for a sighting. Things like that just bring media and do-gooders sticking their oar in. I can't understand why you shoot it and take a picture then allow it onto the Internet, get ready for cruel hunter articles really soon. The media obbsesing over individual animals never brings anything positive to the countryside.3 points

Why would someone shoot something so rare just to brag about a trophy they have shot. They should at least let it breed to get the population up with that mutation in it before culling the 1st one they see.Call themselves sports man what a joke.3 points

Right guys my little whippet Russel has finally come into season and I’m on the lookout for a stud for her as the dog I was going to use only produced one pup out of a litter he just sired. Ideally I’m looking for a 3/4 whippet 1/4 terrier.2 points

A great idea by Greb which sparked my intrest into looking for old clips of fighters i have read about. ive followed boxing since i was 6 so 51 years a fan. I do prefer to watch the old fights.2 points

I nearly commented to that end earlier. It's beautiful to humans but in nature it is a rare mutation because nature continually kills those with the mutation off. Frankly you'd be doing the fox gene pool a favour by doing natures bidding and culling it. But I doubt that crosses anyone's mind. The rare ones get shot because they stand out. Which funny enough is the same reason nature kills them.2 points
