Last minute text from joe last night saw us set off for a local bit this morning, ended the day on 5 with 3 at least accounted for underground, was more a day for the pup and ferrets as they are last years and this years kits.

....and shot a rabbit as it went down its hole. Not bad for a flinchlock but no rabbit! Told the dog to get digging and she did! When she got deep enough I couldnt see her tail she got it. Useless dog pulled it off for once! Useless but I love her ?

Yes, I agree that society, and people, are polarised these days. Left or Right, EU or Brexit, vax or no vax, etc, etc....... Got set up on one of the feeders first light and shot a few squigs .We hadn’t set the feeder up right and the squigs were trying to bite at the metal underneath rather than sit on the platform .I’ve put a branch to it now so should be sorted .Shot 8 from around the tree though .

We had 2 litters last year, one went great and a few lads off here had kits out of it, the later litter was an accident, but didn't go so well...the mother had a funny one and killed a few kits, we ended up taking the 3 live kits out and 1 died leaving the last 2 being hand reared by my daughter..they stayed in her bedroom and it was a fight to get them back in the court!! As someone has said,keep your vents open in your windys,an a dehumidifier on the landing top of stairs,keep it going constantly until it collects no more,then your house will be dry,I wouldn't do nothing else until the humidifier drys out the house,might take a week or two but keep it on flat out. Not had much time to be out overnight in nature lately and I’m getting cabin fever being in the house every night so although it’s not quite the same I’ve stuck the bivvi up in the garden and I’m going to spend a couple of nights under canvas. It’s good for a relaxed mind .......

On a recent trip to the vets my old lad had a test on a lump that's appeared on his flank. I took him in this morning to have it removed. Hopefully that's the end of it. He will be 14 this summer but he's my bestest mate so it was a no brainer to have it done. I'm getting soft in my old age ? Before and after pics. Cheers, D.

A work mate who was furloughed for a few month stuck in the house with his wife and 2 teenage daughters ended up living in a tent in his back garden. He's not into camping or the outdoor life in any way but got to the point where he couldn't handle being couped up with his family anymore. He's back to work now and regained his sanity.

Of you have t got room to go out then go up. Build or by a three tier hutch with connecting tubes or ladders so the ferrets have access to all three levels.

Get a dehumidifier they help, also try to let the place breath trickle vents open on doors and windows etc. Modern building methods materials choke old houses up which were meant to have air circulation.
