My good mate is a full time farmer now .and he has started lambing early .hes had bother this last week .only 2 of us could go due to this lock down shite .we down 2 banks and accounted for a big dog fox .all the busher down extremely well .pushed him out fast and was cleanly shot .

I feel sorry for Baldcoot! I sometimes forget to count my blessings, i have a rough shoot just out side the village and the more formal driven shoot I'm in is 7 miles away. The rough shoot is more of a conservation project as the farmer and i are keen to look after the Grey Partridge and lapwing populations we have, so a lot of vermin control seems to be paying off. I get to walk around and rough shoot when ever i want but don't shoot any greys. It does sound a lovely image, but not quite so romantic when your dog is screwing something in the middle of n open field and mrs and mrs smith (who were told to go and explore the countryside by country file) are filming it on their iPhone and uploading it to the 'spotted in xxxx' face book page . . . . . . . . I work with alot of lathes and cranes they take no prisoners, the power of them is unreal. One 2 of the cranes i work on has 2 motors for the hoist both running at 1000hp each Watched the vid its not nice viewing and just shows you it can happen within a blink of an eye. Deer down sat with me mate for 4hrs in the blind. With half an hour of daylight left and nothing showing I decided to check out the other side , just as I was stalking through the wood I got a glimpse of a roe sneaking out over the bank. I had a brilliant stalk on it as it was unsighted up a hedgerow. I eventually spotted it behind a tree and used this to my advantage stalking into around eighty yds. Depends what you’re looking for ...... ferreting with a dog isn’t too bad....... but it’s mooch about with the dog ...... probably not so bad. But it’s getting the way that if you go and ask for permission to lamp your running dog ........ you might as well have two heads.
