  1. Yesterday saw me travelling to the Scottish Borders in search of Reynard. It was windy in the afternoon and saw nothing mooching so set caller up next to some gorse. Played cub call and within 5 secs a fox came screaming from cover , just as I got it in my sights and squeezed off it moved causing me to arse end it ? I couldn't manage to get a second shot off before it reached cover , I searched for ages in the gorse but to no avail ? Off out lamping and it was perfect , pitch black and a bit of a breeze. 1st stand shot 4 , 2nd stand shot 1 ,went back to 1st stand and shot another , last stand

I was told I'm working too much this weekend, so today I wrapped at midday and me and the wife headed for Branscombe...she was right..it was perfect... a bit of grub in the beach cafe then I had a few hours on the kayak whilst she read on the beach... not the worst place to spend an afternoon...and tea is sorted for tomorrow..

  3. Why would mates I've known for over fifty years lie to me and not report or go to the press ffs. Some I have said have you seen a big cat out of interest, got their account but never ever put it about. These are good countrymen I've know all my life, one I grew up with our gardens backed onto each other solid guy watch one for twenty minute stalking rabbits while doing a gutter on a bungalow on the side of Dartmoor about two hundred yards away. Not liars good country folk good accounts. Cheers Arry

  4. I personally am a doubter ,but for some people it's not enough to doubt ,they have to stand on the sidelines and criticise and hate , because that's the way they are ,they are wrapped up in the sense of their own importance ,I feel sorry for them ,they have no dreams ,no romance ,no sense of the impossible no soul just horrible ,boring little people who enjoy spoiling things .

  6. Im completely down the middle with it all....i was 80/20 against the idea of big cats in the Uk until i spent some time a few years ago with an old boy who was totally convinced....it was a very boring time of life so i was probably happy to listen to any old shit but over time he just made so much sense,i remembered the topics on here and got in touch with Greyman about it and he took the time to explain his findings and what he knew but never tried to convince me one way or the other and i respected that.....if im honest it was partly what prompted me to get a little countryside companion do

  7. I’ve been reading the posts on here . I don’t know you Jimmy and there are no words to say . I don’t have any religious faith , so saying that my prayers are with you is meaningless. But reading your words and sadness , I feel your pain and it has made me think about the fragility of life. I gave my daughter a hug this morning, “ what was that for “ ?she asked . “ No reason “, “ you are weird “ she said . Stay strong Jimmy .

  14. Funny you say that... I was shown a photo about 5/6 yrs ago on a lads mobile phone... Of a cat in the back of a red hilux... Nose at the front of the tub and the tail hung off an open tailgate by 25/30 ".... They had seen it out lamping and shit themselves.... Few weeks later farmer shot it, took a picture and it went straight in the incinerator... Reason being he didn't want every cnut with a rifle running rough shot over his feilds looking for more..... The person who showed me is on here.. Unfortunately he's on holidays for the next 10 yrs?.... That's what sparked my interest and made

  18. There were undoubtedly big cats of various breeds released from captivity in the mid 70's when the Dangerous Wild Animals act came into force, but I doubt many of them survived in the wild. Did any of them breed ? What were the chances of a breeding pair being released in the same area, or a pregnant female having a litter and rearing them ? Very remote, I'd say ! I can't explain the sightings, so I have to keep an open mind, but I haven't seen one photo that doesn't look more like a feral cat or a dog ! On balance, I'd say they aren't out there......but I'd love to be proven

  19. I wont be popular but I don't agree at all. People co existed, competed and hunted these these species for millenia before technology and increasing population made them extinct. Is it so bad that they are coming back? The numbers you are taking about are tiny, 60 wolves in the whole French pyrenees? Shepherds were sucessfully shepherding sheep there for 1000's of years alongside much higher populations. Livestock management was probably different, livestock guardian dogs were probably a huge part of that. If you look at their use in Namibia guardian dogs reduced cheetah predat

  23. I wish mate. This is honest truth I gave this mate a rubber brick phone and he won't use it, it took photos about the size of a postage stamp. No photos, but I will tell you his account is one of the best I have heard. I 100% believe him he never mentioned this account till I asked him. He was working on a bungalow on the side of Dartmoor near a place called Wrangaton not far from Sparkwelll Zoo Dartmoor. He was up a ladder with his mate footing it when he spotted a large big black cat stalking along a hedge infrount of two rabbits. As it got closer to the rabbits one bolted towards him and

  25. ? That did make me laugh, took me back to a teacher at our old school big evil ginger c**t Mr.Bishop if he caught 2 lads fighting he would drag you by the tie throat first into the school gym,put boxing gloves on you and say " right if either of you take a backward step in the next 3 minutes you,ll be in serious trouble ".....then a couple of his equally sadistic colleagues would stand watching us bash f**k out of each other ! To this day i dont know if it was a good or a bad " punishment " but it certainly taught lads from our way that you dont ever start trouble if you are not willing to

I set four snares yesterday hoping to trick a couple and though there was thick fog this morning i had a bit of luck as i climbed the hill the fog had cleared and the Grass was dry and the Rabbits were out in large numbers and though it was nice to see them it would be very hard work dragging a dozen down . When we arrived there at first light we parked at the side of a small wood and Rabbits were every where and when i returned my Mrs told me they were strait back out and could have easily popped a bagful like we used too do as kids .

  31. Wrong . . Police , Social services & Councils (mainly labour) covered it up the MSM done as they where told with D notices from Government . Police where all over parents who complained , Massive cover up their still trying to hide the facts of what /who actually did / said what !!

  34. I think that is still running, called aufwasasplazen (?) the idea of it was just to let nature run its course but, obviously, without any predators the big herbivores ate themselves out of food. Even though the place is massive its not big enough for them to migrate about finding new grazing while the last patch recovers. Distinct lack of common sense and forward thinking. I think they had to intervene on welfare grounds in the end. On the upside it was a huge success for migratory wildfowl and a lot of the smaller species. Rewilding is a land management system in its infancy.

Yes I do mate, the small group of people in the bottom right hand corner one of them is me, ? so you can all get to meet me, I,ve said this many times but the shouters never listen but a clear photo will prove nothing or very little but the work that has gone on in the labs will, and you can get to see that work on the film, since this thread started the university has examined around 15 carcasses that have been consumed by cats and the work that’s gone into it will be shown on the film, enjoy my accent ???

  45. my wish is for all who shout out for rewilding to do their bit and stick either their bollocks or their ovaries into a jar first, this country has too many people in it to even start to think we can go back to how things used to be (and a stupid point is, most who want this will also have no problem with the invasion that`s happening in the channel, figure that one out)

  47. Using the pulsar xm30 myself, game changer really where rabbits are lamp shy. Means you don't have to scan lamp for eyes, you can see exactly what else in on the land (and who else). Takes the dogs a few goes to understand how it works as they're left in the dark but my pup watches my hands to see if I'm lifting the thermal or the lamp so he mentally preps himself for a run when he sees the lamp come up. Draws far less attention, handy if poaching but even on permission the less neighbouring houses see the better. I've not had to charge my lamp for about 12 outings now as you hardly need
