I have no problem with getting rid of single use plastics, I haven’t used plastic wads for years now and if they can get the price of the eco wads down and make bio degradable cases I would definitely use them ( or go back to paper ) but to try and ban lead is f*cking nuts, people feeding ducks bread kills more than lead shot does, unless it’s coming at them at speed

  11. According to that video it is a voluntary ban they are looking for. None of the shooting organisations are legislators which is a good thing. I am not going to volunteer, but will continue to spray lead around as i have always done. I have always been an "eco terrorist".?

  12. If you rotate the collar through 90 degrees the reading will change by as much as 50%. To read right the collar has to be 'pointing' at the box. I'm not saying it wasn't but if the dog was rolling and twisting a lot it'll cause the reading on the box to change significantly. Just a thought....

When I got there I recognised it immediately and it is where Wilson fished in an old mill pool. Think he had few bream from memory. Soon as I mentioned it in the bar the atmosphere changed. All locals couldn't stand him. Said he was really arrogant and not a nice man at all. I was a bit gutted. Still, the Wilson I knew I loved. That laugh, juggling with fish etc. Always remember the one where his rod snapped playing a catfish and it was a rod he made himself, still got it in. He was the insp

  16. Had a vermin day on a shoot i do the terrier work for with a few pals and the keepers son who has also become a good pal over the last few years since iv'e been going there,a different part of the shoot than last year and we didn't think we'd get as many as last year but 52 squirrels,2 munties,1 rabbit and 4 picked pigeons saw the bag at the end of the day.We all took a wood each come roosting time but only a few more were added as the winds put the birds into the lower hedgerows rather than the trees we were all waiting in.

  17. Dropped onto a spot I was at last week when I shot a lone vixen. It’s only a smallish field but it’s safe shooting and it produces foxes constantly from surrounding woods and land. Nothing after 30 mins squeaking then I the flicked the lamp on and there was two sets of eyes, obviously a pair and very close together. They hadn’t come to the squeak, they weren’t interested. They didn’t seem too mithered by me shining the lamp, they had other things on their mind. Both disappeared for 5 mins then reappeared from out of some brambles. Whack! 75 yards. The vixen dropped and her mate left the scene

  18. Some weeks ago, I put in a variation application for a .22 wmr, .22 semi auto and a .223 but there was quite a delay with the .223 so after several conversations with the licensing dept, both my pal and myself dropped the .223 from the request with the intention of reapplying for the .223 at a later date but in the meantime they are checking out all the land / farms we have shooting rights on. So with the variation on route we started to look for a wmr which is not found on every street corner but there were still quite to be had although many were at the other end of the country and as

As long as it's draft proof and dry with ventilation for fresh air and a good size run they shouldn't be a problem in uk i use straw for bedding and put plenty in so they make there own beds ,my jooks only in kennels part time ,and inside as well ,best to get s young dog used to kennel first before house as doing other way round u may make a barker out a good kind of dog ,

  27. v disappointed tbh. i got on Kindle, so not seen those pics. That aside the content is laughable. So one terrier had such a good nose on top you could loose it in a 1000 acre (yes one thousand) forestry & it would find the fox, not only that, it would only be 50 yards behind the fox when he broke cover & was shot?? Secondly a dog on a dig managed not only to bottle up a dozen animals, but because they'd broke through behind the dog he proceeded to pull all of the twelve one by one. that aside it's the usual fell terrier ramblings about entering dogs into "bad spots"

  30. I've given up reading anything he puts these days. No idea what's happened to the chap but recently, it's been one ball of shit after the other. Perceived slights, stalking members and generally being a strange one. I noticed he'd posted on Fury thread... didn't read it.

  32. Even horses get straw on top of that stuff. Seems a bit harsh for a dog as there's nothing for it to curl into or make a nest. Never mind heat lamps, dogs need to snuggle down into a bed, and not only for the warmth and comfort. Psychologically they are better off being able to arrange their own bedding as they see fit. I remember someone telling me that Brian Plummer used to have nothing but a board at the back of the kennel for his dogs to use as a bed. Smacks of laziness to me.

  33. I've had the pieps and the red box fluctuate on plenty of digs, you can hear the terrier ticking away and yet the reading goes up and down by meters. No idea why it happens, you'd only get filled with their standard BS excuses if you contacted them anyway. The best you can do is to treat it as just a part of your arsenal in locating your terrier, I wouldn't be without one but I've been frustrated hundreds of times with them

Doing some pest control.14 lb bitch was entered here. there was fresh fox shit where she's standing.after an hour of running laps inside she began to settle. At this point the Redbox started jumping everywhere.I have not had this to happen in similar situations. There is no metal in there.I spent another hour crawling around trying to figure it out as box was fluctuating over a 5 foot range.8-13ft.The directional arrow lights were flashing everywhere no matter where I moved. they began to move and box started working right once they got away from this area. They were getting close the side so I l

Worked a stand next to him at the evesham festival 25 years ago...was a bit of a hero of mine I guess.. but wasnt particulary friendly and a lot of the matchmen that I was with/around weren't particularly complimentary about him.... 42. Make two cuts with a junior hack saw carefully down to the leather strap. When you are right through give the strap a light pull. it should pull away as seen. Don't go any further cut the strap before pulling any more out so you do not put the whole of the strap out. I have in the past broken the resin sides doing that. carefully and slowly ease the new strap in place. Glue with Araldite. r Hope this might help somebody. Cheers Arry

  44. A mate had two English mastiff/dane crosses, huge dogs, they would actually crush pigs skulls when hunting,he ended up selling them as he liked to knife pigs so there was no sport in it for him. These two monsters were shit scared of other dogs, once he found them cringing in the yard when a mini fox terrier got in with them, lol.Just saying their dog fear had no effect on them hunting game which they would annihilate.
